The Midweek St Mirren Show returns for the 2016/17 season as we preview Saturday's game against Livingston and look towards the upcoming league campaign. We heard what Alex Rae had to say after a 3-1 win over Stenhousemuir along with striker David Clarkson who netted a double in that game. Midfielder Stephen Mallan also spoke to us about pre-season, the upcoming game against Livingston and what he hopes to achieve in the upcoming season.

In this St Mirren Radio special Saints legend Tony Fitzpatrick speaks to us in-depth about his playing days for the Buddies and beyond. He talks about joining the club as a young boy, what it was like to work with Sir Alex Ferguson, playing in Europe with St Mirren, winning the 1987 Scottish Cup, moving to England to join Bristol City, how he almost joined Aberdeen & Celtic, taking over as manager in his early 30's and how he managed to get ex-Barcelona captain Victor Munoz to the club. He also tells the heart wrenching story behind his book 'The Promise, Together Again' and discusses his plans for the club now that he is chief executive, youth development at St Mirren, his thoughts on the job manager Alex Rae and assistant David Farrell have done since joining the club, recruitment and his thoughts on the upcoming season.

We also spoke to members of the Sunshine Recovery Cafe in Paisley about what the cafe does and how it has helped them.
