And South Asian women are carrying it quietly. If we changed how we treat new mothers, we would change entire bloodlines. #SouthAsianMotherhood #MaternalMentalHealth #IntergenerationalTrauma #PostpartumSupport #BrownWomenHealing

LIFE-CHANGING HEAD INJURIES + FOOD FRAUD: WHAT'S THE LINK & HOW TO GET BETTER

. **Amrita Sandhu, RCC & Amar Sandhu | Healing After a Life-Changing Head Injury** Join us for a heartfelt and informative conversation with **Amar Sandhu**, as he shares his journey of recovering from a life-changing head injury. We explore how he's learning to take care of himself **mind, body, and soul**, while navigating subtle symptoms, flare-ups, and the challenges of TBI. In this video, we discuss: * **Subtle symptoms to watch for**: fatigue, irritability, noise/light sensitivity, difficulty eating or sleeping, and cognitive challenges. * **The importance of a support system**: how friends and family can notice flare-ups before the injured person does. * **Nutrition & mindful eating**: why eating well, avoiding junk and seed oils, and focusing on whole foods is crucial for brain and body recovery. * **Food awareness & food fraud**: understanding labels, sugars, sodium, and trans fats, and how mislabelled products can affect healing. * **Meditation & recovery strategies**: calming stress, improving focus, emotional regulation, and managing sensory overload. * **Understanding tolerance bandwidth**: learning to operate within your limits, a counterintuitive but essential skill for healing, especially for those used to "pushing through" as a source of identity or worth. * **Supplements & brain support**: how Lion's Mane, GABA, and other natural options may support cognitive function and recovery. * **Cultural & gender nuances**: exploring how South Asian cultural expectations and male gender norms around strength, endurance, and identity can make self-care and pacing especially challenging—and why unlearning these patterns is key to recovery. This chat is just a **surface-level preview**—we'll dive deeper into **food fraud, mindful eating, and brain-supporting nutrition** in future episodes. **Watch, learn, and share** if you or someone you love is navigating recovery from a head injury. --- Insta: @therapycoveco Email: contact@therapycovecounselling

Without proper connection at home male offspring will gravitate toward the wrong path

. Without proper connection at home male offspring will gravitate toward the wrong path. This happens in homes where the fathers are lawyers, doctors, truckers or business owners and anything in between. The main missing piece is the actual fathering. Teaching, coaching, conversating, spending quality time, showing interest, showing compassion, modelling healthy life practices. Without that and in an environment where the distractions, negative habits and bad influences are rampant – a destructive path and a life fallen by the wayside is rather inevitable. The Psychology of a Punjabi Father

. From age 0-10 I saw my father in 5 minute increments. He was always rushing to return to work - he was defined by being the provider whilst navigating the complexities of being a very much ethnic minority in a small town. During my adolescence and once we moved to Surrey we developed a rapport fused by our similar sense of humour but we were still careful to dance around one another's triggers - triggers unrelated to each other but still at the same time very much mutual. Nearing marital age and as life's transitions weighed on - loss, big changes and most of all - now my father had no more intense busyness to run to..we began to have sporadic real conversations and interactions not just the surface level banter that felt safer before. But then with the wisdom of age and as he slowly began to be more and more where his feet were it was time for me to leave for my next journey and chapter in life for a while … But some how we find ourselves having come full circle with my own things to sometimes run from and tremendous work to immerse myself into but now it's him tapping on my shoulder saying hey sit for a while. So here we are.. capturing a moment and some thoughts through the simplicity of just sitting and talking..sitting and talking. #punjabitiktok #browntiktok
