Swan Dive Ep 34 - That's My Boy
People railed Jack and Jill but sweet sassy molassy, this movie is a travesty. Weird number of more current SNL cast members and they can't even save it. This is a true Sandler cesspit of "comedy". Poor Samberg...
-
Swan Dive Ep 33 - Jack and Jill
You know something is wrong in the universe when Jack and Jill is not the worst movie Sandler ever made. I'm saying this with confidence since we watched the absolute nightmare that was That's My Boy soon after. Pacino even at his lowest low, destitute, and needing any acting job after being...
-
Swan Dive Ep 32 - Zookeeper
Once again, who is this for? Its too raunchy/adult topics like abusive/controlling relationships but also poop jokes. Also, instead of getting someone arrested for abusing a gorilla, they just kinda beat him up and call it square. First, the gorilla would win. Second, get real justice for that!
-
Swan Dive Ep 31 - Just Go With It
The beginnings of the Anistan era. The kid actors have like 1 or 2 good bits and that is probably the highlight of the movie. Think about that, a child is out bitting Sandler, a "professional".
-
Cage Ep 7 - Raising Arizona
Finally, a good movie! Cohen brothers waste no film in this. Even if it wasn't just after Grown Ups, I still give this high praise. More laughter than any Sandler. And we're getting into prime Cage era now.
-
Swan Dive Ep 30 - Grown Ups
Its like he strained all the fun out of an actual summer by the lake and left the bad. At least Schneider isn't doing some type of brown face this go around and with the state of our country, I'll take that as a plus.
-
Cage Ep 6 - Peggy Sue Got Married
Fun movie, beautiful score, Cage is a goober. Shout out to Sofia Coppola and "acting". *Skipped due to not finding it: The Boy in Blue*
-
Swan Dive Ep 29 - Funny People
We had a bit of a delay from watch to record but the pattern is Judd Apatow movies are good. Especially when they mock Sandler. He should do more of this but he's making hundreds of millions from netflix so you know, money.
-
Variety Ep 17 - X-Men Dark Phoenix
*NEW EQUIPMENT ALERT!* Now we don't sound like we're in an echo-y office! An Aunty Donna sketch and our lack of X-Men knowledge led us to watch this alternative to morphine.
-
Cage Ep 5 - Birdy
Another serious Cage, its for the birds. Actually It's about PTSD, the Vietnam war, and birds. Any ways, I made the cookies and they crushed.
-
Swan Dive Ep 28 - You Don't Mess with the Zohan
Sandler tackling the next hot button political issue, middle east conflict! Oh but have you heard of hummus? They put it on everything, isn't that weird? Also, he's totally straight in case you questioned it.
-
Swan Dive Ep 27 - Bedtime Stories.mp3
Disney and Sandler? It's the worst movie for kids and the worst movie for adults, misses both marks pretty hard. But boy oh boy, does Rob Schneider do an ever so "tasteful" red face.
-
Swan Dive Ep 26 - I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry
You ready for Sandler to sensitively handle this one? It's ok though, once bigotry directly effects him, now he cares!
-
Swan Dive Ep 25 - Reign Over Me
Wacky hijinks ensue as Sandler loses it all! I joke but I truly think we'll get Sandler's take on Schindler's list. Also Shadow of the Colossus cameo.
-
Variety Ep 16 - Double Impact & Double Team
Van Damme, Van Damme, and Van Damme in... 2 movies, but 3 Van Dammes? Dennis Rodman also plays a cardboard cutout of himself very well with how stiff he acts.
-
Variety Ep 15 - Dollman
An unexpected delight. A tale of life in gang lands and what happens when governments abandon their people.
-
Variety Ep 14 - Cool World
Brad Pitt stars as a cop in a cartoon world stopping cartoons from having sex. This is 100% real.
-
Swan Dive Ep 24 - Click
This movie takes a turn and we take a turn rambling. I imagine a lot of sad bros expecting more remote control shenanigans rather than a story of capitalism crushing a man to dust.
-
Swan Dive Ep 23 - Deuce Bigalow European Gigolo
Big surprise, its real bad. Lots of big tangents.
-
Swan Dive Ep 22 - The Longest Yard
Little whoopsie-daisy and wasn't recording the first 30 minutes. Any way, sports!
-
Swan Dive Ep 21 - Spanglish
Another "serious" one. Tea Leoni is great. Consider this is a college essay and then think about a mom telling all these details to a child.
-
Swan Dive Ep 20 - 50 First Dates
It's actually a horror movie.
-
Variety Ep 13 - Aeon Flux & Ultraviolet
Another double feature. The early 2000s were so cool you have no idea. The Blade trilogy should be included in this claim.
-
Variety Ep 12 - Empire Queen The Golden Age of Magic
This was a years in the making project. I mention it in the episode but check out Chris Dane Owens music videos because that's what was out nearly 10 years ago that spawned this movie.
-
Variety Ep 11 - Bad Santa 1 & 2
What a roller coaster, first time I saw either. These movies could not be any more different.
-
Variety Ep 10 - Bedazzled
Charming AF. Elizabeth Hurley and Brenden Fraser became total buds after this and that's even more charming to know.
-
Variety Ep 9 - Sudden Death
This movie split-kicks major ass. JCVD movies are a fun time. I just don't understand how his pants don't rip. Also the terrorists follow rules to a fault.
-
Variety Ep 8 - The People Under the Stairs
I didn't see this one, my wife takes the reigns on this. It's bonkers.
-
Variety Ep 7 - The Avengers (1998)
We continue with the avengers.... or do we? Guess we need to make a 4th segment to go through all of those now.
-
Variety Ep 6 - Venom 3
It had its fun moments. What's incredible is a Marvel movie actually having a conclusion.
-
Variety Ep 5 - Master of Disguise
A real heaping pile of trash. Dana Carvey really dropped the ball on this.
-
Variety Ep 4 - Idlewild
Outcast made a movie.
-
Cage Ep 4 - The Cotton Club
It's the Roaring 20's and the cast is stacked. Oh yeah, Cage is in this too. Thanks Uncle Coppola.
-
Variety Ep 3 - Monkeybone
Chris Kattan's best performance. Fraser is charming as always. Stacked cast in a goofy premise.
-
Variety Ep 2 - The Greatest Showman
Its a fever dream of slop but at least its not Chairman of the Board.
-
Variety Ep 1 - Chairman of the Board
From the late great Norm MacDonald, "More like Chairman of the BORED".
-
Cage Ep 3 - Racing With the Moon
Semi-serious cage, it seems like he negotiated a cage moment in this period piece drama.
-
Cage Ep 2 - Rumble Fish
Serious Cage, a rare treat.
-
Cage Ep 1 - Valley Girl
Nick Coppola... I mean Cage. I have a feeling Francis demoted him.
-
Swan Dive Ep 19 - Anger Management
The lesson is, punch people when you're mad.
-
Swan Dive Ep 18 - Mr. Deeds
I fear for Winona
-
Swan Dive Ep 17 - Punch Drunk Love
An art house movie. When he has no say in a movie, it works!
-
Swan Dive Ep 16 - The Animal
Oh no, another Schneider. Thanks to the side characters, its BEAR-ly BEAR-able.
-
Swan Dive Ep 15 - Little Nicky
Was this slightly funny because they reference Pop Eyes a million times? Or because it came after Deuce... the world may never know.
-
Swan Dive Ep 14 - Deuce Bigalow
Release the Schneider cut!
-
Swan Dive EP 13 - Big Daddy
Has its moments... of trash.
-
Swan Dive Ep 12 - Wedding Singer
Uncredited script revisors: Judd Apatow and Carrie Fisher. No wonder it works.
-
Swan Dive Ep 11 - Waterboy
Boys and water, whats not to like?
-
Swan Dive Ep 10 - Bulletproof
We had never heard of this one. And after watching, for good reason!
-
Swan Dive Ep 9 - Happy Gilmore
Again, seen this a million times as a kid. Will it maintain the charm?
