Episode 10: Realizing Success On and Off The Field
Former NFL Pro Bowl defensive tackle Malik Jackson joins The Truth Sideline to discuss his successful 10-year NFL career, which included winning Super Bowl 50 with the Denver Broncos at Levi Stadium, the site of this year’s Super Bowl. Malik also shares his upbringing in Southern California, where he fell in love with football at an early age and eventually developed into a college player at University of Tennessee. With his days on the grid iron now behind him, Malik has focused his talents on running The Care League, a concierge care platform developed to assist former athletes in all facets of life. Malik stays busy growing the brand, and attended this year’s Super Bowl to network and catch up with some of his old NFL friends during the SB fesitivities. It’s safe to say Malik is a role model for all young athletes who aspire to have success on and off the field. Mike and Pete are honored to welcome Malik to the pod. Kalei Mahi joins the pod for Episode 5 to discuss her career in NIL as the founder of NextGen Legacy NIL. Kalei is a firm believer in student-athletes using NIL to grow their brands and to develop meaningful business relationships that will extend past their playing days. As a former D1 athlete herself, Kalei understands the challenges of being a student-athlete and the hard work needed for self-improvement. Kalei shares her experience working with families’ of athletes as young as 12 years old, and the constant communication and honest feedback that sustains those unique client relationships. Beyond studying the latest NIL and influencer trends, Kalei is a mom to two boys growing up in youth sports in Southern California. We also talk about Kalei’s passion for cooking and why she pursued swimming as her main sport growing up.

Episode 4: The Rise of Dribble Drive Basketball
Episode 4 of The Truth Sideline Podcast welcomes on Dennis Kelly of Dribble Drive Basketball, Connecticut’s premier player development program. A native of Brooklyn, New York, Dennis has been involved with basketball practically his whole life and eventually developed into a college basketball player at Siena University. His two sons, Rich and John Kelly, each played D1 basketball, and have been instrumental in helping Dennis build a lasting product in Dribble Drive Basketball. In addition to his coaching, Dennis previously served as a D1 referee for a decade. His perspective is incredbily useful for any parent raising a child in youth sports. Dennis resides in Shelton, Connecticut with his wife and three children.

Former D1 men's hoops head coach Matt McCall is our guest for episode 3. Matt breaks down his coaching career, highlighted by head-coaching stops at Chattanooga and UMass, and his transition into the college basketball media world working with NBC Sports, The Field of 68, Sirius XM, and CBS Sports HQ. Most importantly, as a father of 3, Matt sheds light on raising his children around sports, and how his undying support of them to help them achieve their dreams is his north star. Additionally, Matt and Mike recount their time together working at Florida Atlantic University under Mike Jarvis Sr.

It's been over 11 years since the father and son coaching duo last coached together, making it the perfect time to reminisce on their shared journey in sports dating back to the good ole days in Cambridge. Coach Jarvis also shares his return to coaching at South Florida Bible College, eliciting a couple good laughs along the way.
