The Undone

When you’re in your 20s, everything feels complicated. Which is where The Undone comes in, a show about navigating the “adult” world without a GPS, friendship, love, sex, personal politics, and... air fryers. Meet Emily and Lucy. They work at Mamamia and they live together in the inner city. They spend their days trying to work out how to turn the oven on, why their dating lives are such garbage fires, and why sometimes their tiny daily struggles seem just as insurmountable as the world’s biggest problems. Every week on The Undone they’ll be sharing dating stories and talking about the biggest issue in their world, because... nothing is simple in your 20s.

A Guide To Sex On Your Period

When you're on your period, is sex off the table for you? Or are you extra horny? There should be no stigma around period sex, but it can be daunting. So, Lucy has put together a bunch of tips to make that time of the month extra pleasurable, as well as clear up some misconceptions. Also, Em and Lucy answer a listener dilemma from someone who's (smaller) friend called themselves 'fat' and wants them to understand why this hurt. Ex-Boyfriends & Discriminatory Beauty Salons

This week we thought Lucy hijacked our confessions form (which you can submit to here). But it turns out the fear of running into your ex is so much more common than we thought.  And, a worthy and necessary tone shift: Em shares a story about famous Australian-Indian actor Pallavi Sharda's recent upsetting experience after being told by a hair removal salon that she had too much hair on her face and that the women working at the salon felt uncomfortable working on her. A Beginners Guide To Dating Apps

Have you ever used a dating app? While a lot of us have, some people are just getting on them for the first time (or re-downloading them). Emily and guest host Emma Gillespie discuss how to create an authentic profile, the red flags to watch out for and what to expect from the people on them. Also, guest host Emma NEEDS to talk about an article she read recently, written by an intern in New York who was pursued by a very famous man...and whether a relationship with such a huge power imbalance can work. Can I Date My Bestie's Brother?

Emily has brought her own Dating Dilemma to this episode of The Undone, after she matched with a friend's brother on a dating app. She wants to know, is it ever ok to date your bestie's brother, or is it asking for trouble? Also, these days it's pretty standard procedure to split the bill after the first date. But considering that the wage gap in Australia still exists, and the cost that goes into going on a date if you're a woman- is that actually fair? The Dating Trends We Want To Leave In 2021

2021 is almost in the rear view mirror and we are not looking back. Plus, we all have some toxic traits when in relationships (except Em, apparently). The Post-Lockdown Dating Trend All Your Mates Will Complain About

How do you feel about dating post-lockdown? Most of us are excited to date, but also want to just spend time with our friends, and have also forgotten how to date properly and don't know what we want out of it. In other words, we're confused. Em has discovered a new dating trend she thinks sums up these feelings. Plus, we need to discuss the dating PR campaign. It's when you tell your friends you're breaking up up with your partner, only to get back together, so you have to sell their good traits back to your friends. We're sorry to tell you, it never works. And Lucy tells a story for Dating Diary about meeting a guy in real life she matched with on tinder she was sure was a bot, and awkwardness ensued. Help! I Hate My Friend's Boyfriend

It's our 50th episode! So we thought we'd answer one of the questions Emily and Lucy are asked most: how does having a sex and dating podcast affect your dating life? Plus, we discuss a very common dilemma amongst our listeners; what if you don't like your friend's partner? It's not an easy situation to navigate but we have some advice. And we're joined by Will McMahon from KIIS FM's drive show, Will & Woody, to hear about his worst date ever (and it's a cracker). The End Bits  Listen to Will & Woody. Watch You Season 3 on Netflix. A Guide To Going Down (On Someone)

Our confessions form (which you can submit to here) has been overflowing with hilarious stories lately, and there's one type of experience that we keep getting over and over...people vomiting on d**ks. It's inspired us to release this bumper episode on all things oral sex. Lucy tells us about her first experience giving head (if you can call it that), plus we read some of our audiences funniest stories, before giving some tips for going down on both penis and vulva owners, sans vomit. Finally, Em reads a Dating Diary story about someone who went on a date and ended up paying for it, dearly. You Can Have An Orgasm Without Touching Yourself

Have you heard of 'meditative orgasms'? They're orgasms you can achieve with your mind, without touching your genitals at all. Emily gave it a go and the results were, well, explosive. She describes exactly how to achieve this "12/10 experience". Plus, a tweet about the weirdest thing we've gotten in trouble for at work had Em and Lucy laughing, and reflecting on times they've gotten in trouble (perhaps deservedly) in the workplace, and Em reads an anonymous dating story from a listener who saw right through a first date's weird lie. When Period Sex Goes Seriously Wrong

On the 11th of October, it's the International Day of The Girl, our favourite day of the year. To celebrate, Emily and Lucy chat about advice they'd give their younger selves, from "you've got this", to "don't dye your sideburns". Plus, what does your phone's note app say about you? Some people use it for shopping lists, but some of us use it to draft break up messages, write down their manifestations, or pass on silent messages to people. Em breaks down the four types of people based upon their phone notes. And we read out an anonymous confession from a listener who's period sex ended up with her partner holding a pair of tongs... There Are Two Types Of Friends

There are two types of friends, and Emily and Lucy are opposites. Emily believes in friendship minimalism; culling friends that don't spark joy. However Lucy disagrees, and reckons that friends from all walks of life can be valuable. Which one are you? Plus, we dissect the '75 HARD' challenge that has been making the rounds on TikTok for what it really is; disordered eating. Lucy opens up about her experience in this area, and why this challenge is more dangerous than it seems. Most of the country has been in lockdown for a while now, but we don't want to stop dating or having sex, so we're resorting to dating on FaceTime. But it can be daunting. Lucy dated her boyfriend for months via FaceTime before meeting, so has some tips for breaking the ice when you're separated by a screen, plus some virtual date ideas and ways to get freaky via your phone. But young Gen Z kids seem to be skipping this phase altogether thanks to social media, and we're not sure that's a good thing. We break down exactly what this is, and Em tells us the story of one of her worst dates on Dating Diary, which ended in a very long rejection text. The End Bits  Have a confession? When The Cringe Keeps You Up At Night

Have you ever experienced something so cringy that you still lie awake at night thinking about it? Come on, we all have. Em and Lucy spill their stories so we can all feel the shame together. Plus, we discuss whether you can still consume someone's art when they've been cancelled, and Mamamia's Jessie Stephens joins us for Dating Diary to tell us about the worst date of her life (and it's a shocker). How To Know If You're Settling

When Lucy posted a confession about someone 'settling' in their relationship on Instagram, she got tons of messages from people who related. We thought we'd unpack the concept of settling in a relationship, and in life. Lucy and Em also discuss the exclusion of diverse shades of foundation in Australia, and  for Dating Diary Lucy describes the one night stand that changed her standards forever. There's only one thing we can think about recently, and it's the treatment of the Biloela family by our government. Emily opens up about how we can help. Did You Know You Can Give Yourself A Pap Smear?

Welcome to The Undone! A podcast for people navigating their 20's without a GPS. Last week Emily revealed she had never got a pap smear, even though she'd just turned 25, so we decided to get a real doctor in to bust some myths. Dr Ginni Mansberg is a GP with a passion for women's health, and you won't believe the what we learn from her. Also, we discuss Naomi Osaka's brave decision to forgo post match interviews for her own mental health, and Lucy tells a truly horrendous Dating Diary story that ends with the advice, "don't drive your booty call home". When Everything Gives You 'The Ick'

Last week on The Undone we discussed being 'cheugy', and we think we've found the male equivalent: 'the ick'. It's the feeling you get when a guy does something that makes you less attracted to him, and we have a few (ok, many) examples. We are also joined by host of The Spill Laura Brodnik to chat about the highs and lows, but mostly highs, of being a woman who lives alone. Plus, Em opens up about the loneliness she often feels on her birthday and why everyone should take themselves away for a birthday alone at some point. The End Bits You can read Laura's articles “Every person who lives alone has the same embarrassing fear.” and "I heard a strange scratching at my door": The unspoken fear some women feel living alone. Why You Should Never, Ever Go On Reality TV

Chances are you've heard of So Dramatic, the reality TV podcast that creates as much news as it breaks. We're so excited to have host Megan Pustetto join us to spill the tea on having the most notorious podcast in the country, including the wildest tip off she's ever received, her diagnosis of PTSD from being trolled, and how she deals with a DM folder fills with thousands of messages. The Red Flags You’re Probably Missing

Are you on the 'edge of burnout'? Lucy feels like she is and has bought an old alarm clock to try and beat it. Plus, we have a listener dilemma about the pros and cons of moving out with friends, and we discuss red flags; the ones we can laugh at and the ones that are more insidious.
