Boundaries: The Art of Saying No Without Guilt

Podcast Description: Ever said "yes" while screaming "no" inside? Felt drained, resentful, or invisible in your own life because you’re too busy accommodating everyone else? In this raw, liberating episode of The Unveiled Mind, host Jacquelyn Cuyler tears apart the myths that keep us trapped in guilt, people-pleasing, and emotional exhaustion. We’re diving deep into: 🔥 Why boundaries feel like betrayal (Spoiler: They’re not walls—they’re VIP ropes to your energy). 🔥 The 3 lies we believe ("If I set boundaries, I’ll be abandoned" is bullshit—the right people stay). 🔥 How to say "no" without sounding like a TED Talk (Steal Jacquelyn’s scripts: the Sandwich Method, the No-Justification "No," and the Polite Broken Record). The Ugly Truth About Self-Care (And Why It Won’t Save You

"Self-care isn’t bubble baths and journaling—it’s eating that Damn Vegetable." Science approves.) 🔹 How your learning style dictates your sanity (Kinesthetic folks, put down the meditation app and go dig a hole.) For anyone who’s ever rolled their eyes at a “just breathe” meme—this is your antidote. "Survival isn’t pretty. But it’s all we’ve got." "Badass Babes & Bolsheviks: The Radical Herstory of International Women’s Day

"Grab your protest signs and your favorite feminist manifesto, because this episode of The Unveiled Mind is about to drop some her-story that your textbooks conveniently left out. That’s right—we’re diving into the wild, rebellious origins of International Women’s Day, and spoiler alert: it wasn’t just about brunch specials and corporate hashtags. Nope. This holiday was cooked up by radical women of color, queer trailblazers, and socialist firebrands who wanted way more than just ‘equal pay’ (though, you know, that’d be nice too).* From the garment worker strikes of 1908 New York (shoutout to the real OG squad—Black and immigrant women who literally died for the cause), to the Danish suffragettes who basically said, ‘Hey, why don’t we just make a whole day for this?’—we’re tracing the global uprising that turned March 8th into a revolutionary call to arms. Oh, and did we mention the Bolshevik women who straight-up ended the Tsar’s reign by striking for ‘bread and peace’? Iconic.* This episode is a love letter to the trans women, the Black feminists, the disabled activists, and every unapologetically loud woman who refused to sit down and shut up. Because International Women’s Day isn’t just about celebration—it’s about continuation. So, are you ready to meet your new feminist ancestors? Let’s get unveiled."* ✨ Tagline: "Behind every great movement, there’s a greater* woman (or twelve) you’ve never heard of. Time to fix that."*

Trauma, Shrinking Brains/Dropped the Ball? Millennials, Tech, and the Call to Do Better

Ever feel like your brain’s been hijacked by a stress gremlin with a penchant for demolition? In this visceral deep-dive, neuroscientist Jacquelyn Cuyler unpacks how trauma doesn’t just haunt your memories—it physically remodels your brain, shrinking critical regions like a sweater in a boil wash. Backed by chilling studies (Duke, 2024; Neuropharmacology, 2012), she reveals how chronic stress downgrades your mental hardware—turning your prefrontal cortex into a studio apartment and your hippocampus into a library after a riot. But here’s the twist: your brain isn’t doomed. From van der Kolk’s The Body Keeps the Score to defiant park bench rebellions, this episode maps the escape route from trauma’s cage—proving connection (even silent, even small) can rebuild what stress tore down. Then, a brutal mea culpa: millennials had the tools—the internet, the megaphones—but traded real change for digital noise. In "Dropped the Ball?", Cuyler challenges Gen Z: Do better. Use tech as a scalpel, not a crutch. Call out the "jokes," reach for the drowning, and remember—knowledge without action is just poison in a TED Talk wrapper. Ends with a rallying cry: Namaste, bitches. Healing isn’t pretty, but it’s possible. Trigger Warning: Contains frank talk about trauma, dark humor, and a cameo from your amygdala’s panic button.

Sharing the Struggles with my Dead Mom

Podcast Description: "The Journey of No Journey" – Unveiled Mind Podcast Step into the raw, unfiltered, and unapologetic world of The Unveiled Mind Podcast, hosted by Jacquelyn Cuyler—addiction therapist, trauma survivor, semi-retired drag queen, and all-around healer. In this deeply personal episode, Jacquelyn dismantles the myth of enlightenment as a destination, inviting you instead to embrace the radical truth: you are already home. Blending fierce wisdom with dark humor, Jacquelyn unpacks her own book, Enlightenment: The Journey of No Journey, revealing how spiritual seeking often becomes another form of suffering—until you realize the mountain was never there. Through visceral storytelling (like the time an Indian priest laughed at her futile chanting), she exposes the punchline of awakening: the door was always open. But this isn’t just theory. Jacquelyn grounds the conversation in the messy reality of chronic pain (fibromyalgia, undiagnosed "dis-ease"), grief, and the relentless voice whispering "you should be further along." With unflinching honesty, she bridges her work with Thomas Moore’s Care of the Soul, arguing that depression, anxiety, and even illness aren’t problems to "fix"—but sacred messengers begging to be heard. The episode crescendos with a heart-wrenching confession: "I wish I could have shared my mental illness with my mother." Jacquelyn traces the generational silence around panic attacks, trauma, and the slow death of unspoken pain—culminating in a rallying cry: Say it before it’s too late. Why Listen? - For spiritual rebels tired of "just meditate harder" platitudes. - For the chronically ill seeking meaning beyond medical labels. - For anyone drowning in to-do lists who needs permission to burn the list. - For daughters, mothers, and survivors ready to break cycles of silence. Raw. Profane. Profound. This is not self-help—it’s soul help. Press play if you’re ready to laugh, weep, and finally exhale. (*Content warnings: Trauma, chronic illness, grief, mentions of suicidal ideation.*) Subscribe to The Unveiled Mind wherever you get your podcasts. #EnlightenmentIsAJoke #TheDoorWasAlwaysOpen #BefriendTheDarkness #CareOfTheSoul

    How did we get here?

Hello All! Welcome to the much awaited second episode of the Unveiled mind. "The Unveiled Mind," a podcast that truly embodies the essence of fearless exploration into the rich and multifaceted fabric of the human experience! So happy to have you listening to me.So what do we talk about today? A question that has been popping around in my head over and over, is: How did we get here? I keep asking myself. As I am now in my 41th year on this planet I am struck with a constant ask, how did we get here. I look at the world and I again say, how did we get here? What are the steps. In this episode of the Unveiled mind, we will be dissecting just that. Looking at these topics through the lens of remembering one actual universal truth. We can claim many theories. The Law of Attraction for example is a dangerous theory at best. What is a universal law is that things are constantly changing. Nothing stays the same. Movement is without question. Now it does not mean it will go good or bad. What doesn't kill you some times comes back and finishes the job. How we got here, here we go Lets start with a quick imagery. Imagine a child playing with a set of building blocks, endlessly constructing and deconstructing structures under the watchful eye of their elders. The adults, with their own sets of blocks from yesteryears, gently guide the child's hands, suggesting which shapes fit together best and which towers are sturdiest. Over time, the child learns the "right" way to build, internalizing these lessons as a set of unquestioned rules. Yet, as the child grows, they may encounter a world where the blocks are no longer sufficient to construct the skyscrapers of tomorrow. The once-solid foundations become limitations rather than guidelines, and the fear of building something new, something that might not look like the familiar, looms large.

    Intro Video

The Unveiled Mind** is a provocative, boundary-pushing podcast that dives headfirst into the uncharted depths of human consciousness and societal taboos. Hosted by an unapologetically curious mind, it strips away the veneer of polite conversation to explore spirituality, sexuality, mental health, and cultural identity with brutal honesty. Each episode feels like a late-night confessional—raw, intimate, and occasionally unsettling—where guests from marginalized communities, avant-garde thinkers, and underground artists dismantle mainstream narratives with scalpel-like precision.Beyond mere dialogue, The Unveiled Mind operates as a sonic rebellion against sanitized discourse. Episodes oscillate between fever-dream monologues on psychedelic revelations and gritty interviews with sex workers discussing autonomy, or nonbinary philosophers deconstructing the prison of gender. The host’s voice—smoky, relentless—pulls listeners into a world where existential dread and erotic liberation collide, punctuated by eerie soundscapes that warp reality itself. This isn’t background noise; it’s a confrontational seance demanding your full attention. What sets The Unveiled Mind apart is its refusal to soften edges or cater to comfort. One week might dissect the spiritual corruption of wellness capitalism, the next could feature a dominatrix explaining the theology of pain. The podcast thrives in contradictions: sacred and profane, clinical and orgiastic, despairing and transcendent. For those exhausted by TED Talk platitudes, here’s the anti-podcast—a chaotic, luminous rabbit hole where every episode leaves you rewired. Proceed with curiosity… and a stiff drink.
