Do you have a million things inside your head and the only way to gather them is to make notes? Same here. It used to be referred to as a scatty brain, then a grasshopper mind, but now it's likely to be ADD or ADHD and, somehow, society seems to treat us better with that label. For some of us, it's clear that we move things about to please others. But when that comes to our writing time, we need to set clear boundaries. Our writing time is important to us so why give it up? Fair's fair. Setting boundaries for your writing time, your every day life, and holiday life is important. None of us have unlimited time to spend willy-nilly, so set your boundaries, people. I've touched on using colour in fiction in an earlier season (S10?) but today's looks at it a little differently. Season 13 episode 3: Dopamine Hits. It's amazing how much we need this hormone and neurotransmitter, and how much it helps us love what we do and helps us to continue doing it. Okay, that sounds a bit grand. But think about it. Without loving what we do as writers, readers don't get their own dopamine hits by reading our stories.
