The Voluntucky Podcast
by Matt Withrow
Voluntucky is about Voluntaryism in Kentucky (obviously). But it digs much deeper than the philosophies heard on other podcasts. We seek to put boots on the ground – literally. YOUR boots – on Pulaski County, KY dirt to create the real world Voluntaryist society we all know is possible. In Voluntucky we will go beyond theory and begin putting plans into action just like some other radical individualists did 243 years ago, except we will learn the mistakes of history and employ impenetrable firewalls to prevent their repetition…to secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity.

Greetings People of Earth
In this 1984 world where up is down and down is up, being normal doesn't feel normal at all. That is, unless you have people by your side who see the world the same way you do. That's what TVP is all about.
-
Ep 28 - The Anti-Socialism Ice Cream Social
Creating a Voluntaryist world requires us to create friendships and bonds with other Voluntaryists. Yet it's easy to be so fed up with "people" that we can have little or no desire to put in the effort. Today I'll talk about creating the environment from which most all friendships emerge, even...
-
Ep 27 - The Anarcho-Comedy Correlation
The very fundamentals of what makes funny things funny are everywhere in Voluntaryism. Because comedy and tragedy can be one in the same depending on what perspective you choose.
-
Ep 26 - Getting Voluntechy
What needs to happen on the technology end, and in what order before TVP launch. Getting some of that out on the table today.
-
Ep 25 - Becoming The Police
The very job of government police is to imagine your thoughts and thereby predict your behavior. And that's why they will always be steps ahead of you unless you are willing to reciprocate.
-
Ep 24 - Transcending Liberty
You never fully understand any concept or skill until you are able to forget everything you already know about it and reconsider it with new eyes. How else would we ever know when we're wrong? Life is too short to go around with mustard on your chin, even if having mustard on your chin is the norm.
-
Ep 23 - The Amish Versus The Black Panthers
Today I discuss different separatist movements and the lessons I've learned for what to do as well as what not to do. What has worked, what didn't and why and the adaptations from these lessons that I have applied to TVP.
-
Ep 22 - Is The Boogaloo Offensive... And Statist!?
What factors determine whether your actions are offensive or defensive? Aggression is always seen as self-defense when your team does it. But is it really? If you have all the tools you would need at your disposal to make self-defense easy, can you really say that a preemptive attack is necessary?
-
Ep 21 - Unseen Forces
The most difficult problem to get rid of is the one you don't even know you have. And those whom you are carrying the weight for are tickled pink about it. Today I attempt to reveal the true burdens of not joining a Voluntaryist Community.
-
Ep 20 - Building Your Local Voluntaryist Community
Wishing for Voluntaryism to become normal and accepted isn't going to change anything. If you don't want to loose your mind waiting for the world to fix itself, you need to find or create those microcosms where things are already as they are supposed to be. And it all starts with just showing up.
-
Ep 19 - The Tao of Voluntucky
There is a huge difference between a Legal system and a Justice system. Why will the Voluntucky Justice system work? Because it involves the required checks and balances needed to have a just system that are absent from the State Legal system.
-
Ep 18 - The Long Slow Burn ~ Effective Distillation
The Voluntucky Project ain't for everybody. Today I dig much more deeply than I have in the past, into the philosophical part of anarchism/Voluntaryism and why seeking purity in your philosophy is achieving it.

TVP Gets Triggered... In A Good Way
Great news on multiple fronts! Milestones met for The Project and for human history. But much left to do. And.... Oh! Moonshine classes!
-
Ep 17 - The Confrontation Paradox
In order to do what I do, you gotta be Real comfy in confrontational situations. But not everyone is. And that's okay... for now. But avoiding the State and depending on loopholes within the system is a guarantee of large-scale future confrontation. It's what we've been doing our whole lives only...
-
Ep 16 - What the Tuck is Volunfucky?
We instinctively try to categorize any group of individuals we see. Is it a government? A cult? A mob? A religion? A business? Do we make up a whole new term for it? Can a group that is generally one thing have some of the characteristics of another and still remain that thing? Check out today's...
-
Ep 15 - Being Smart Versus Being Right
When standing up for principles is punished, right action often brings pain. But nothing about that changes until some people are willing to do it anyway. As long as the world incentivizes immoral behavior, it will run rampant. If you want to change the world, change the incentive package.
-
Shittin' With Shawn - On The Porcupine Perspective
In this "cross-cast" episode, Shawn Sanders and I talk a lot about the defense mechanisms within The Project, modern technological capabilities that make Voluntaryist communities much more possible than they've ever been, and the sometimes overwhelming temptations to shelve the NAP for the sake…

Ep 14 - Membership Changes and Short Term Project Goals
Thanks to listener input, the first change has been made to Membership requirements, and a design flaw that could have hindered Project Goals significantly in the future now has a very solid firewall. And I'll let you decide if further changes need to be implemented. And when, exactly will the...

Ep 13 - Before the Sister Communities
Probably should have done this show before episode 12. Before any Voluntaryist community can be started, a certain number of obstacles will need to be identified. Then we can figure out how to best get over, under, around or through those obstacles. And in a free market, the best ideas will…

Ep 12 - Sister Communities
The U.S. is an experiment that has failed but people will still continue to use it until something better is created. And then that thing, be it Voluntucky or some other idea, must be tested against others. If it fails, then it should fail. And multiple experimental communities happening at the...
-
Ep 11 - It's All About Property Rights
Simply put, agreement on property rights guarantees that we all get along. Disagreement means Any society is destined to fail. In this show, I will explain the central idea that any Voluntucky Community Member will need to agree with. Also, why do those who Say they agree with Voluntaryism…

VCM Growing Pains
Our local currency is up! Hard drug use is down. And Rutro.com seems to be doing it's job of deterring stupid behavior, whether we like it or not. Also some advice on how to handle encounters with those few government police who want to pretend they haven't been castrated.
-
Ep 10 - Further Pontification: What Does a Finished TVP Look Like? pt 2
Involuntary government has no business doing 95% of what they do. So all we have to do is figure out how to do the 5% that needs to be done by someone. Episode 8 covers 95% of that remaining 5%. This episode covers the other 5% of the 5%. And then we're done. talking about governance for a while...
-
Ep 9 - Muh Pulaski County Roads!
Maybe I should have called this show 'How To Make Lemonade'. Before involuntary government will ever go away, we must already be doing for ourselves those few things they do that do need to be done. In this show I talk about how doing that let's us use the faulty paradigms that they perpetuate...
-
Ep 8 - Let’s Pontificate: How Might TVP Work? pt.1
Have you grown accustomed to government doing certain things for you? Are you prepared to accept the added responsibility that comes with added freedom? In this show I will address the benefits and the potential horrors of “social credit score” technology and what can morally be done to dissuade...
-
Ep 7 - How The State Killed My Friend
The recent passing of a good friend has shined a burning spotlight on the consequences of failure to understand that moral people can break the law and still be moral people.
-
Ep 6 - Who the Fuck is Matt Withrow?
How does Anyone come to the conclusion that involuntary authority is a crock of shit? Generally it's through a long series of events in one's life. So here is as short a draft of my personal story as I could come up with. And A LOT is left out! Somehow I completed this entire show without...
-
Ep 5 - Ummm... Are You In The Right Place?
This show will be a bit like marching into battle, we're not all going to be here in the end. While we all agree that all human interaction must be Voluntary to be moral, we sometimes disagree on the details of what that means in the real world. This show will outline how individuals who want to…

Ep 4 - The Heartbeat/Engine of the World
The world runs on incentives. It runs better on positive incentives (I'll give you this if you give me that) than it does on negative incentives (Give me that or I'll hurt you and take it anyway). Some Very good reasons to be a part of The Voluntucky Project.
-
Ep 3 - True Education in a Voluntaryist World
Memorization Is NOT Education! Dare to dream of a world with True Voluntary education.
-
Ep 2 - Police or the Lack Thereof
When every single individual clearly understands and respects property rights there will be no need for policing. What can we do, in the mean time to have protection of property without violation by the very ones who are supposed to protect it?
-
Ep 1 - Introduction to the Voluntucky Project
In this first episode I will describe the obstacles to creating a Voluntaryist world and outline the Voluntucky mission to overcome and create that world.
