The War of the Worlds
H. G. Wells wrote The War of the Worlds in 1898, when there was much speculation about life on the planet Mars. The novel is the first-person narrative of both an unnamed protagonist in Surrey and of his younger brother in London as southern England is invaded by Martians. The book is considered to be one of the first science fiction novels.
