The Wardrobe of my soul podcast

Between 2010 and 2012 I recorded this podcast. I was getting into the world of stand up comedy and I would invite on guests Comics who I met on the circuit. Rather than just be an interview, I invited Colm, a good pal from the Kingdom of Kerry along. I wanted to pit their humour up against Colm's careering chat that could pull a left turn at any moment. I didn't really care about having any listeners. It was just an excuse to invite Colm round and see what pearls of strange wisdom he produced. Now he's gone, I had been revisiting these recordings every time the ache of his loss would rise up. I finally got the time to condense all the wafflings down a bit to two hour-long parts. The podcast returns after a winter slumber with the wonderfully hirsute and funny, Keiron Nicholson. New jingle, new round, same old sh*t. All kept interesting with the fading battery life on Pearse's laptop.

Another aural ramble with Pearse and Geoff in the wardrobe. This time they are joined by a woman person named Eleanor Morton. The charmingly funny Eleanor gets stuck into the usual games as we span topics such as fast toilets, gerbils, sexy Ms. Krueger and baking.

Pearse and Geoff are back in the pod and joined by Chris Grady (@atlasbagshaw) - Fledgling Stand up and Script Editor for the Comedy Unit.

The wonderfully tall comedian Adam Struth joins Geoff and Pearse in the Wardrobe. The usual games and half heated interviewing. But it does get very meaty at the end.

Pearse and Geoff recline back and bath in the bearded glory of their guest. All the way form Brownsville USA, this episode features Dogshit Johnson (@DogshitJohnson). We chew the fat with Dogshit and challenge him to meaningless games based on the Guinness Book of Records and an ALDI shopping list. Also features Doghshit's signature track 'Welcome to Brownsville'.

On his last podcast before hitting the road for India, Colm discovers his Jewishness. We are joined by the hot new Scottish comedy ass that is Davey Connor (@DaveyConnor) who wows us not only with wry wit and charm but also his home baked delights. We try out a different take on genital origimai called ‘Pubic Portraits’ and Colm questions the eitquette of body odour.

The brilliantly Australian, Geoff Gawler, joins us in the wardrobe with a hefty 8 pack of Foster's under his arm. We learn of Colm's new paranoia over hypnotists. Geoff recounts his days as a dog shooting, human wheel barrow in Melbourne. Our film titles veer disappointingly towards porn and Geoff croons his was over the Xmas no. 1 as he invites us to 'Get a dog up ya'...

In this episode we are joined by the magnificently ample, Darren Connell as he recounts his days as the no. 1 plastic bag impersonator in Scotland. He also reveals his 600lb scotch egg habit. Colm has a new section which warranted a brand new jingle. Genital origami is thankfully very short. Darren comes up with some amazing movie plots and we end with a big fat Connell style rap throwdown.

The gorgeously athletic, Rob Kane, steps into the wardrobe to delight us with his cat facts. We discover the dog with the longest ears is a bit of a disappointment. The ancient craft of origami switches to the bumhole. It gets a bit cheesy for the endgame, but Rob saves us by showing us why he's the Dr. Dre of Drumchapel...

The wonderfully astute, Ross Main, joins us for a few Friday beers and a lesson in Death Metal vocalisation. Colm O'Mahony shows up early and and implodes when faced with the amount of gloves one human can fit on their hand at once. We explore the animal kingdom via the medium of genitials. Colm discovers the best vegetable alternative to the movie title: Back to the Future 3 and Ross scares the rabbit with his vocal lay down for our Xmas no. 1 bid.

The beautifully proportioned Scott Gibson jons us in the wardrobe for this episode... We discover a new term for eating a watermelon. Colm O'Mahony calls Scott a Ned. Genital origami has its quickest round yet. One of the answers gets censored for its graphic nature and Scott lays down some preachy vocals for the xmas number 1...

The beautifully aligned Alan Scott joins us in the Wardrobe and we treat him to chilli and oatcakes. Colm becomes selfish.
