Our longtime announcer and the voice of the LBAA, Don Day, has decided to retire. Don Day has had a remarkable career in the industry, starting from his early days in South Georgia, where he spent countless hours fishing and hunting with his dad. Even during his time in the navy, he never lost his love for the outdoors. His broadcasting career began, and he eventually crossed paths with the founder of B.A.S.S., Ray Scott. They became friends, and Don had the opportunity to work with B.A.S.S., which marked the beginning of his relationship with the organization. One of the most memorable experiences in Don's career was a trip to Iraq with Ray Scott in 2004. The purpose of the trip was to thank the men and women in uniform and support them with fishing gear and other supplies. Don describes the emotional time he spent with the troops, reflecting on the impact they had on him and Ray Scott. It's clear that these experiences have shaped Don's perspective on life and the value of the outdoors industry. Don also shares his journey as an emcee, particularly with the women's bass fishing tours.
