    After a very long time away (Christmas holidays, and Mock Exams), Jona and Ivy return to share their impressions of Year 13 Mock Exams. Join them to hear about their experience with exams as they begin to see the final exams coming closer and closer!

    Just before the Christmas holiday, Ivy and Jona recruited the help of Aneira and Alex to do some quick-question interviews with our Sixth Form students!  At only 7 minutes and 30 seconds, this is our shortest podcast episode ever!     Episode 7 - Brave Generation Academy

    This week Ivy and Jona interview Sancho and Lorne from Brave Generation Academy- a global learning community built for flexibility, relevance, and real-world readiness. In September 2025, Ipswich High School proudly became the first school in the UK to open a BGA hub. Join Ivy and Jona as they learn about the history and philosophy of BGA and explore the courses now available at Ipswich High School through Brave Generation Academy!

    Episode 6 - Boarding

    In this episode, Jona shares his experience being a boarding student at Ipswich High School and explains to Ivy some of the things that he loves about being a boarding student. This episode's guest is Mr Creed our boarding house parent. He and Jona discuss his role and what he has enjoyed during his last two years working in our boarding house! Enjoy!

    Episode 5 - D of E and UCAS

    Lots of letters in the title of this episode! Jona and Ivy begin this episode talking about Ivy and Anabelle's recent experience with the Duke of Edinburgh (D of E).  For the main part of the episode, Ivy and Jona explore the various paths our students are taking after completing their Sixth Form journey here at Ipswich High School. Some, like Ivy and applying for UK universities are using the web app UCAS for their applications. Other students like Fay are applying for apprenticeships, while Jona is using the web app Study Link to apply to universities in The Netherlands.  We're wishing all our pupils the very best and making sure they are supported and ready to begin the next stage in their life's journey; wherever that path may take them!

    Episode 4 - Careers Fair

    In this episode, Ivy and Jona speak with Mrs Offord and Mrs Lees who organise and coordinate our annual Careers Fair at Ipswich High School. Our careers fair has such an important impact on the choices students make about the futures and Mrs Offord and Mrs Lees explain everything that goes into preparing for such a successful event!

    This week, Ivy and Jona reflect on their experiences at our Sixth Form Open Evening. In their conversation they discuss their individual responsibilities during our open evening event and their own feelings about what makes Sixth Form at Ipswich High School such a special place.     This week, Ivy and Jona reflect on their experience with Modern Foreign Languages Week at Ipswich High School. It was a busy week filled with lots of engaging and exciting activities to highlight the importance of language learning!     Finally reaching the last week of their first year at Ipswich High School and the end year 12, Ivy and Jona reflect on Speech Day, share the results of the winning House from Sports day, and look ahead to continuing this podcast into season two next academic year!

    In this episode, Ivy and Jona explain all about Sports Day at Ipswich High School. They talk about their experiences in their previous schools and compare them to their first Sports Day at Ipswich High School. They also talk to Mr Taylor, our Director of Sport about the preparations that go into making IHS's annual Sports Day such an amazing event!

    Ivy & Jona discuss their upcoming mock exams and discuss the differences between exams in Germany and the UK. While exams are always a stressful time of the year, it's also the time for students to show how much they've learned!     Episode 15 - Happy Birthday IHS

    This episode, released later than planned, celebrates Ipswich High School's 147th Birthday! To commemorate this occasion, Ivy and Jona speak to our Head, Mr Browning about the creation of our school song. They also interview Ms Limer who shares fascinating details about the long history of Ipswich High School as well as its main building, Woolverstone Hall!

    Episode 14 - Holiday Studies

    This week, after a long Easter Holiday, Jona and Ivy return and discuss having homework and studying assigned during the school holidays. Should students have to revise and keep studying while they are on holiday? Our students share their ideas and also talk to our Director of Curriculum & Achievement, Mr Speakman to get his opinion and he has some questions of his own for Jona and Ivy! Enjoy!

    Episode 13 - EPQ

    This week, Jona and Ivy are joined by several Sixth Form students as they discuss the EPQ (Extended Project Qualification). Many of our local and international students decide to take an EPQ as part of their Sixth Form studies. Jona and Ivy ask our Sixth Form pupils in Years 12 and 13 about their EPQs and how theirs have helped them to enhance their knowledge of their subject and helped to prepare them for university.

    Episode 12 - Ramadan

    In this episode, Ivy, Jona, & Sunny have spent some time in conversations to learn more about the month of Ramadan. Our episode opens with an interview with Ms Chandler-Mears, our Head of Religion, Philosophy, & Ethics, about the history & traditions of Ramadan. Ivy, Jona, and Sunny also sit down with two of their fellow students currently observing Ramadan to get their personal perspectives on this special month in the Muslim Calendar.

    Episode 11 - Valentine's Day

    Just before our half term break, Sunny and Jona discuss Valentine's Day. To help them understand more about this holiday, they speak to our Classics teacher, Mrs DeVoy, to learn about the surprising ancient history behind this "Romance" day and they talk with Ivy, their Sixth Form classmate to discuss how the holiday has changed over the years and is celebrated around the world today!

    Episode 10 - Ipswich High School Musical

    Sunny and Jona's 10th episode is all about our production this year- "High School Musical"! This episode also includes the most guests they've had in one episode! Pupils Adam and Jess, and teachers Mr Stone and Mrs Chillingworth all discuss the production and share their thoughts and feelings about putting on such a production! Enjoy!

    In this episode, Jona and Sunny focus on Chinese New Year. Sunny shares lots of  interesting facts and reveals some little-known historical details about this ancient festival and how it's celebrated.

    In this episode, Jona interviews one of our International students from Brazil, our French Teacher Madam Savary, and our Spanish Teacher Mr Suescun to learn about special holidays and celebrations in countries around the World.

    Our students are back in school and have started the Spring Term at Ipswich High School. This week, they discuss their New Year celebrations and their ideas and opinions about making resolutions.

    Our students reflect on their first term at Ipswich High School. They share their first impressions of the school and their feelings about all they've learned. They also discuss the differences they've found in British curriculum, including our Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) comparing to their home countries.

    Our International students discuss Guy Fawkes Night and they are joined by one of our own History teachers, Mr Tope, to provide more information about who Guy Fawkes was and answer their questions about events surrounding the 5th of November and why we still celebrate it today.
