They have witnessed miracles and heard the teachings of Jesus. Some of them have even seen the glory of God in the face of Christ. They’ve made it and they’re ready to continue moving forward.  WRONG! The disciples haven’t made it. What Luke records in our passage tonight should help us to realize that followers of Christ must never stop growing in His likeness. When growth stops happening, we become dependent on ourselves rather than God. When that happens we cease being effective for His kingdom.
