Mike Yam, NFL Network
On the third episode of Thee Alta Sports Podcast, we interview Mike Yam from NFL Network. Mike is a current host, anchor and reporter for NFL Network and he currently resides in San Francisco, California. Mike was also the main host and one of the first individuals to work for the Pac-12 Network. Besides being on television, Mike also serves as an anchor on SiriusXM radio. And finally, besides talking about sports broadcasting, Mike talked about certain topics very personal to him: Mike is an active member and mentor for AAJA, Asian American Journalists Association. He helps students with career advice, workshops and many more things to help other students reach their goals in the journalism world. Mike is an advocate to help with research for Alzheimer's. His grandfather had Alzheimer's and Mike had a strong bond with him and gives him credit for the love for sports that Mike has. Finally, Mike also talked about the Asian American crimes and incidents that have happened around the country and how it has affected him in his personal life. On the second episode of female voices on Thee Alta Sports Podcast, we interview Sarah Kezele. Sarah serves as a radio host at 98.7 FM Arizona Sports Station, the leading sports radio station in Arizona. She anchors sports updates but is also a host during two daily sports talk shows. Bickley and Marotta and on Burns and Gambo. In this episode, Sarah shared with me her love for sports from a very early age and how she has strong ties to the University of Arizona because of her father. Also, besides being a radio host, she is also the in-game host for the University of Arizona Football games so yeah, she's a diehard Wildcat. Sarah also mentions her first experience being behind the microphone during her high school years as a cheerleader. This was a very special episode because Sarah was the very first voice I heard when I moved to Phoenix to finish my education at Cronkite. Zac Lubin, Goalkeeper for Phoenix Rising FC
In this edition of the podcast, we had the pleasure to interview and chat with Zac Lubin, goalkeeper for Phoenix Rising FC. We talked about some very interesting topics, involving his injury and his progress to return to the field. Lubin also shared his favorite things about goalkeeping, what he had to do to get over the mental aspect of goalkeeping and he shared with us what he has enjoyed during his time in Phoenix. We finally wrapped it up with his view of the team so far for the 2021 season and he provided his analysis of the current goalkeeper core at Phoenix Rising while he still out with an injury. Paola Boivin, Arizona Sports Hall of Fame
On the very first episode of female voices on Thee Alta Sports Podcast, we interview Paola Boivin. Paola has had many roles and has had some very impressive accolades to her name as a journalist: She serves as a sports director at the Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University. She served as a sports writer and columnist at the Arizona Republic for 20 years. She is also a member of the Arizona Sports Hall of Fame thanks for her career in the sports journalism world in the state of Arizona. And she is currently part of the College Football Playoff Committee, she is the only female on the committee. In this episode, Paola shared with us about her upbringings in Chicago, Illinois, the start of her passion for sports and her start in the journalism world.
