On this episode, we take a step back on the Ides of March to explore the major forces shaping our world - from the rise of AI and China to Middle East tensions, Europe’s tech regulations, and the uncertainty of the global economy. Along the way, we ask a deeper question: despite all the chaos, is the world actually getting better? We also briefly share where our podcast Theoreality might be heading in the coming year.

In this episode, we dive into Chinese New Year traditions - from the classic family reunion dinner and festive foods to the giving of red envelopes. We also touch on other customs, such as tomb sweeping, and explore how the holiday is celebrated by Chinese communities in Singapore and other Asian countries. Plus, Luke shares insights on traditional Lithuanian holidays, offering a cross-cultural perspective on New Year celebrations.

Following last week’s discussion on New Year’s resolutions, we are continuing the conversation by diving a little deeper. This week, we are honored to invite Dr. Christine Abigail Lee Tan, a Filipino-born Chinese philosopher, to share her insights with us.
