Therapy, Capitalism, and Meaning Crisis
What if therapy was never designed to set you free, just functional enough to keep you in the system? In this conversation, we sat down with Megan, CPT, LMSW (under supervision of Morgan Grace, LCSW), to interrogate the relationship between mental health, capitalism and the quiet collapse of meaning in modern life. We get into who therapy was actually built for, and whether we've pathologized the discomfort of simply being alive. Megan brings the clinical honesty most therapists won't say out loud, including what actually works versus what just sounds good. This is the episode the therapy industrial complex doesn't want you to hear.To know more about our guest Megan - Please access her webpage here: https://meganhcounseling.com/ Hosted on Acast. In Loving Memory
In Loving Memory:On November 4th, 2025, we had the privilege of sitting down with our brother Jon, a man who had just been handed one of the hardest sentences life can give. He was diagnosed with Renal Cell Carcinoma on June 27th, 2025. Even during the toughest moments, he showed up, he showed up to talk, to share, to make people laugh, and to remind anyone listening that the human experience does not exempt you from pain.We lost Jon on February 3rd, 2026.Here's the thing about that recording; our mics didn't work that day. We still don't fully understand why. But his did. And maybe that's the only way it was supposed to go. Because this was never really a conversation. It was Jon speaking directly to whoever needed to hear it.Over the next few days, we'll be sharing clips from that episode in his honor. Then on Monday, we sat down with his fiancée Brittany, someone who loved him up close, through all of it for a full conversation on grief, loss, and what comes after.Thank you, Jon. For your humor, your honesty, and your willingness to be seen when it mattered most. This one's yours. May you rest in eternal light and eternal love Hosted on Acast. Agency Within The Machine - Is Free Will an Illusion?
With our vey special guest Ayo; We tackled is age old question; 'Do we truly have Free Will'?What if your "failings" weren't moral choices, but biological system errors? This episode explores why Robert Sapolsky’s research proves our first seven years and our genetic code are the true authors of our lives. We argue that therapy isn't about "fixing a soul," but updating an outdated moral code to replace shame with radical, logical mercy. Stop acting as the judge of your past and start becoming the engineer of your future. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
