A lasting heightened experience and discussing my projects

I'm back and happy finally able to share my thoughts and feelings about some stuff I've been going through.I talk a little about the issues in Tanzania but I unfortunately don't know enough to get more into depth.I then go into my critiques around an article that's been going around recently about how selling solar panels in Africa is 'Solarpunk'.Finally, I share some thoughts I've had as I've begun learning more about W E B DuBois. I end with a call to become more self sufficient as humans by integrating both practical trade skills, as well as a love and understanding of scientific knowledge.

For my birthday, I wanted to finally do those interviews I spoke about before, asking random folks about their thoughts on what a better world could look like.I didn't record the interview this time, but I discussed my attempt before and after.

I read the Communist Manifesto.... and I have some thoughts. I rant about Marx after I explain what he was attempting to do, then get into the anarchist critiques that I share.

I got my job back! I talk about how that transition has been over the last few weeks, and what I've been doing outside of work. I discuss my thoughts and experiences with books I've read like Ministry of the Future and the Malcolm X book written by Manning Marable, events I went to like the Malcolm X festival and the Resist and Build festival, as well as thoughts I've had around things like utopianism and conservativism. Today I wrestle with some feelings I've been trying to figure out... what cages am I in? How can I continue to grow and expand myself and experience freedom in a world where I feel constantly limited and alone? After coming back home and talking with my partner, who I consider an unofficial pro on this topic among many others, she gave some great insights and perspective that I wanted to share as well.

I am being put on furlough.... basically it's being laid off, but I can keep my benefits until I find another job, they hire us back, or they close up shop.Losing your job always sucks, but I feel particularly frustrated for not being more prepared for this inevitability since I always knew that job security was not a thing. Nonetheless, I am also very excited!! I'm finally going to have hella time to work on all the projects I've been wanting to work on over the past few years. So stay tuned!! I'm back!! I share some of the stressors I've had and much of the stories I've been reading these past few weeks. These stories include (roughly in order of discussion): Consider Phlebas by Ian M. I go into the problems of institutions and how we may be able to do things differently if we take a more decentralized, anarchist approach to organizations, power, and social support.

What kind of music do you listen to? What art do you consume? How does it align with the type of world you want to live in? I share my own frustrations and ideas on how people can/should seek out art (and other things) more consciously. I argue that it is actually important whether you listen to someone like Drake or Kendrick if you give a shit about culture and building better worlds. Even beyond that, if you listen to just what is popular vs all the other amazing but lesser known art out there, then your worldview will almost certainly be limited. I think the things we consume, and the things we create, and the things we share, are all important facets of the world we are living and building.

Kendrick gives us a great example of the type of energy we need to utilize to take down corrupt systems. In this episode I discuss how we can use his crusade against Drake as a playbook for how we can tackle capitalism, patriarchy, hierarchy, and all these other terrible systems too. #notlikeus

I go on to dissect my distaste for Drake, my dislike for J Cole, and why I feel like Kendrick is indeed a GOAT! Come at me! 😁

Today I have to give a heartfelt apology to all the folks I may have unravelled or otherwise had way too intense discussions with. After/during a recent discussion that did not go super well, I realized, or rather crystalized, something about myself: I like to pull at threads! And I will often do so relentlessly until something comes apart.. or proves resilient enough to stand. Though I greatly value this trait about myself as a major driver of my curiosity, it can be very tough for other people. I don't want people to be too scared of talking with me, or to think that I'm just trying to be antagonistic towards them. Though curiosity and a thirst for understanding is important, it does not bode well to put people in a defensive or floundering state in the process. So I am very sorry to all those I may have troubled in my thread pulling. I'll endeavor to be more tactful going forward.
