Three Thoughts & A Coffee

Welcome to Three Thoughts and A Coffee, a space where the steam from the mug meets the spark of a fresh idea. Guided by the belief that the best insights happen when we slow down, this podcast brings together three thoughts for a single, focused conversation over a coffee. Whether we’re deconstructing a complex social trend, exploring a timeless philosophical question, or sharing a personal revelation, our goal remains the same: to move beyond the surface. In every episode, we lean into the art of the long-form chat—where the coffee is warm, the conversation is rich, and the time is blessed. We invite you to pull up a chair and join our table as we navigate the nuances of the world around us. It’s more than just a recording; it’s an invitation to pause, reflect, and walk away with a fuller cup than when you started.

    The Grief Ghost

In this episode of Three Thoughts and A Coffee, we explore a heavy clinical reality: the Grief Ghost. When a family experiences loss, they become a system bound by the same grave. This isn't just sadness; it’s a systemic presence—a functional role created by a void that recruits family members to preserve the death rather than giving them permission to move forward. To help these families, we utilize the Integrated Process Model (IPM). The IPM provides a multidimensional framework—addressing physical, emotional, cognitive, social, and spiritual dimensions—to address the forces anchoring a family to their loss. Restoring permission requires a systemic pulling up of the anchor. By using the IPM to re-engage the total grief process, we help the system shift from "leaving behind" to "carrying on," providing the scaffolding for them to become the authors of their own stories.Show Notes and Links to Resources within the EpisodeBarboza, Jessica & Seedall, Ryan.
