    Through the Aftermath Episode 65

Weeeee're Baaaaaack! And all it took was a real apocalypse! Yes, that's right, after almost exactly three years to the day, Shawn and Jonathan have returned to record another episode of Through the Aftermath! In this one we talk about COVID-19, also known as the Corona Virus. And we did it all without one Corona beer joke... can you believe it?! We also talk a bit about what we've been up to for the last three years, including Fallout 76, a post-apocalyptic Aladdin, and Jon's real life medical apocalypse! We even dusted the cobwebs off our email address, so if you'd like to reach out, you can contact us at TTAftermath at GMAIL dot COM. And don't forget about our Facebook group! You can check out Shawn's camp gadget review page here, his Mad Max car building page here, or his writing at postapocalypticmedia.com here. Through the Aftermath Episode 64

In this 64th episode of Through the Aftermath, Shawn is joined by Jim "Tank" Dorsey and Faye Murman to talk about a brand new documentary being made that focuses on Tank's life called "Humungus: A Documentary."    The two discuss their travel around the world -- including Australia, Atlanta, New York City, and the California desert -- to follow Tank's life as a top-shelf cosplayer in the post-apocalyptic realm and beyond. The Mad Max filming location stories are particularly interesting, including a surprise meeting with one of the franchise's biggest stars!   You can find out more information on the documentary by visiting the Facebook page.   And speaking of Facebook pages, don't forget to join ours! And if you have a question for the show, send it to TTAftermath at GMAIL dot COM.   Follow Jonathan here. Follow Shawn here.   Theme music is The Fourth Tribe by Michael Gordon Shapiro. Shawn and Steve talk about the rulesets and costumes for the LARP, as well as the upcoming Eastlander immersion event in South Carolina from December 2nd to 4th.   If you're interested in checking out Nukelanta, head over to the event's official website, and if you'd like to come hang out with us at the Eastlander event, you can find more information at the group's Facebook event page here.   Check us out on Facebook for more discussion on the episodes, or send us an email at ttaftermath AT gmail.com.   Theme music for this episode is "Zombie Werewolves from Outer Space" by the Casket Creatures, who will be appearing live at the Eastlander event in December.

    Through the Aftermath Episode 59

In this special, extended, slightly-after-Christmas episode, Shawn and Jonathan focus on Bethesda's newest release: Fallout 4. Haven't heard of it? Then you must be new here because it's like, all we talk about. BUT! We're coming up on our 7th (!!) anniversary for the podcast and want to do something completely not Fallout 4-related for the next episode. Unless Bethesda releases the new DLC in the next month. They wouldn't do that, would they?Check us out on Facebook for more discussion on the episodes, or send us an email at ttaftermath AT gmail.com.Theme music is The Fourth Tribe by Michael Gordon Shapiro. In this episode, Shawn is joined by his ole pal Mash who talks in greater detail about the post apocalyptic TV show The 100. The show's second season just hit Netflix, and a third season is scheduled for next Spring, so it seemed like a good time to talk about it.   Check us out on Facebook for more discussion on the episodes (or, like, Fallout 4), or send us an email at ttaftermath AT gmail.com   Follow Jonathan here.Follow Shawn here. Through the Aftermath Episode 55

We're back already with our promised impressions of Mad Max: Fury Road in the first half of this episode, and some serious discussion about the brand new Fallout 4 announcement trailer in the second half.   Just a warning about the first half: If you haven't seen Fury Road yet and want to avoid spoilers, avoid the section from the 10-minute mark through to the 44-minute mark where we discuss the plot quite extensively.   We also mention a reader's post-apoc radio sitcom called "Don't Worry; It's Only the End of the World," so be sure to check that out on iTunes.   And be sure to follow us on Facebook for regular discussion on our favorite post-apocalyptic news, and on Instagram for some post apocalyptic vehicle pics.     Follow Jonathan here. Follow Shawn here.   Theme music is The Fourth Tribe by Michael Gordon Shapiro. Used with permission.

  12. 39

    Through The Aftermath Episode 54

Mad Max: Fury Road is releasing this week, and Shawn & Jonathan decided it might be fun to talk about some of the lesser-known tidbits from the Mad Max trilogy lore up to this point. Is Fury Road the fourth installment sequentially? Is it a sequel to Beyond Thunderdome? Will there be a Lord of the Flies theme? Will the oil finally be left and will everyone just walk away? Listen and find out!    For the next episode, we plan to tell our thoughts on the movie after we it, so look for that one coming soon(ish)!   Theme music is The Fourth Tribe by Michael Gordon Shapiro. Used with permission.

  13. 38

    Through the Aftermath Episode 53

In this episode, Shawn is joined by Jim "The Tank" Dorsey, the man, myth, and legend behind the Lord Humungus character at various conventions and the Wasteland Weekend event in LA. You can also see his Road Pig costume in the photos from last episode. Tank talks about his inspiration to play the character and how he got involved with the post-apocalyptic genre from a young age.   The intro clip you heard was Tank and his Dogs of War kicking off Wasteland Weekend 2014, courtesy of the Apocalyptic Post.   You can also check out Tank in the short film Mad Max: A Wasteland Story.

  14. 37

    Through the Aftermath Episode 52

And we're back! Again! In this episode, we explore an idea Shawn had to make a sort of post-apoc Siskel and Ebert show reviewing short films in the post-apoc genre. You should probably watch the films first (it won't take long!) so you know more about what we're discussing. Also, we give spoilers.   The Gift - Shawn: Thumbs Down, Jon: Thumbs Up 2 Hours - Shawn: Thumbs Up, Jon: Thumbs Up Outcasted - Shawn: Thumbs Down, Jon: Thumbs Down Last Strands of Man - Shawn - Thumb Down, Jon: Thumbs Down When They're Gone - Shawn: Thumbs Up, Jon: Thumbs Up Population: One - Shawn: Thumbs Down, Jon: Thumbs Down   We plan to do more shows like this in the future with more in-depth commentary on the literally thousands of post-apoc short films out there. Feel free to recommend your favorites!

We also talk a great bit about what we've been up to in the last 5 months, including Jon's F:NV mod, Shawn's costuming adventures at DragonCon, and more. And can you believe that we even discuss our next 2 show ideas? So much for quitting the show, huh? Theme music is The Fourth Tribe by Michael Gordon Shapiro. Used with permission.

  16. 35

    Through the Aftermath Episode 50

Welcome back to this very special episode number 50! In it, we're joined by InXile Entertainment's Brian Fargo and Nathan Long. Brian Fargo is the original founder of Interplay and creator of such classic games as Bard's Tale, Neuromancer, and our favorite: Wasteland. Nathan Long is an author and screenwriter probably most famous for his series of novels based on the Warhammer universe. He's currently the lead writer on Wasteland 2. With the sequel in the works, we figured it would be a great time to sit down with Brian and Nathan and discuss their post-apoc influences and the game itself. Not only that, but Brian also throws down an exclusive for us relating to W2's end-game, or at least Brian's version of an end-game. You can find out more on the game at the official site, follow them on Facebook, and you can even still get in on the Kickstarter rewards and pre-order the game now. Rejoice! Keep in touch with us via the Facebook page,  email, Twitter or our forum. Theme music is "The Fourth Tribe" by Michael Gordon Shapiro. Used with permission.

    Through the Aftermath Episode 18

You know we've been waiting a long time for this episode, but the Fallen Earth post-NDA edition is finally here. Shawn and Jonathan talk about their favorite and least favorite parts of this upcoming post-apocalyptic MMO based on a rating system for each category. These include graphics, performance, social features, combat and much more. While the open beta will be ending tomorrow (Tuesday, Sept 1st), the game is slated for launch on September 15th. Also remember, these impressions of the game are based on a pre-launch beta state. If you've seen District 9, you may recognize Jonathan's epic 10-minute intro skit. If not, go see it! Our next episode should be the post-DragonCon show, so look for that in about 2 weeks. Keep in touch with us via the Facebook page, email, Twitter or our forum (still broken!) Through the Aftermath Episode 17

For this episode, Shawn and Jonathan read over a "Top 50 Things to do in the Capital Wasteland" article from Crispy Gamer. This Fallout 3 article includes such goodies as how to cosplay as Mad Max and how to kill yourself with a Rube Goldberg device. We read through the entire list, commenting on each and adding out own favorites at the end. Plus, in the news we have: - Fallen Earth's open beta starts on August 17th - RAGE is shown at QuakeCon - Shawn still hasn't played Mothership Zeta! But the Fallout 3 DLC pack and Special Edition has been announced. Keep in touch with us via the Facebook page, email, Twitter or our forum (still broken!) Through the Aftermath Episode 16

On this episode, Jonathan and Shawn are joined by Suzanne and Larissa from the Future Traditions podcast to talk all about Jericho. The show is broken into a spoiler-free first half and then a no-holds-barred spoiler-filled second part where we talk all about the plot, including our favorite and least favorite parts. We also discuss some news, including Fallen Earth's newly announced release date and Fallout 3's Mothership Zeta which released earlier this week. Keep in touch with us via the Facebook page, email, Twitter or our forum (which is still broken at the moment, but at least it's up! Hoping to get it fixed all the way soon) Theme music is The Fourth Tribe by Michael Gordon Shapiro. Used with permission.
