In Part 1, we dived into the origin of the Deathwatch and how they came to be. Now, we dive even deeper, as we explore the tenuous relationship between these immortal Black-clad Space Marines and the mortal Inquisitors of the Ordo Xenos.

Out of all the organizations in the Imperium, none is as unique as the Deathwatch. These are the alien hunting Astartes that serve as the Chamber Militant of the Ordo Xenos of the Imperial Inquisition. From the Greenskins to the Tyranids, these specialized Space Marines hunt down the alien with cold and deadly precision. In this first episode, we will discuss the origins of the Deathwatch, which began centuries after the Horus Hersey with The War Of The Beast and how the Imperium's humiliation culminated into formation of the Deathwatch.

In our final part of this series, we'll discuss and explore the road ahead. We'll discuss mentorships, support of and for Black owned studios, the importance of leadership diversity, the power of players, and the legacy of the Black influence in the gaming industry.

Black representation in video games was initially only background decoration, stereotypes or largely absent. Now, this wasn't intentional, but it spoke to an extremely uncomfortable truth....something the evolution of Black protagonist in games of the past 3 decades has tried very hard to erase, and despite the breakthroughs, and some of the most compelling Black protagonists in gaming, there is still work to be done. Titanfall succeeded. Not in a commercial sense, and definitely not in the mainstream sense either. It did rewrite the battlefield.In this final part, we'll discuss why Titanfall 2 STILL feels modern after all this time, it's mech fantasy done right, the players that never left, and we will ask and answer an important question: Can this franchise EVER return???

If Titanfall was the experiment, then Titanfall 2 was the confession. And to be honest, Titanfall was better than it's predecessor. But.....It was one of the best First Person Shooters ever made.....and it failed.In this episode we'll discuss Titanfall 2 the right game at the worst possible time with a release window that that destroyed a masterpiece. We'll also talk about the Battle Royale shift that Respawn could no longer ignore, which lead to the development and shadow launch of Apex Legends. and we'll talk about Titanfall 3....the game that died in meetings

The Titanfall series has always, at least to me been an enigma in gaming. A shooter that made movement viable again, but it had it's share of setbacks that prevented it from being great. In this episode, we will talk about the inception of Titanfall, which came from the death of Infinity Ward and the birth of Respawn, and we'll talk about those aforementioned setbacks: Narrative multiplayer, the EA and Xbox exclusivity

With the controversial Battlefield 5, the beautiful and brutal Battlefield 1, and the stumble that became Battlefield 2042, DICE and EA went back to the drawing board to create a Battlefield that would be true to the Battlefield formula. The result? Battlefield 6, the premiere First Person Shooter. In this final episode, we will discuss Battlefield 6, the future legacy and culture of the Battlefield franchise, and we'll close with why the franchise matters.

The Battlefield franchise has been one of the premiere and influential First Person Shooter franchises created. From Battlefield 1942 to it most recent interation in Battle 6, each game in the series defined what a multiplayer shooter can be.In this first episode, we'll talk about the origins of the franchise, starting with Battlefield 1942 and conclude with BF Vietnam and Bad Company 1 & 2.

The Chaplaincy in a Space Marine Chapter is structured like any facet of the Chapter, There are ranks, responsibilities to this institution. From the Novitiates to the Master Of Sanctity ever rank has it's structure, and this episode we will discuss this. We will also look at most famous (and infamous) Chaplins in 40k history. From Grimaldus to Cassius, each Chaplin represents a different yet important aspect of the Chaplaincy.

One of the most fearsome, iconic, revered, and spiritually resonant factions in the Warhammer 40k universe are the Chaplins of the Adeptus Astartes. These black armored figures fight at the front line of battle wielding the Crozius Arcanum, the Rosarius, preaching the various Litanies, spurring their brothers into zealous fury. But who are these enigmatic black armored warriors that wear the skull-helm? What are their origins, How are the organized? What are their roles and duties?In this first episode, we will explore the origins of the Chaplins. From their infancy during the Great Crusade, to their installation in the Horus Heresy and beyond, we will also look at the roles and duties a Chaplin has in a Space Marine Chapter. Let us march into the Reclusiam, and kneel before the skull-faced helm of the priests of battle!!!!

One of the most iconic images that is common in the Warhammer 40k universe: An armored warrior clad in ceremite and adamantium, striding cross the battlefield with the grace of a demigod. That image is the Space Marine, and his armor-power armor is as much a symbol of the Imperium as the Aquilla itself. In this episode, we will discuss the early primitive armor of the Thunder Warriors, and we'll discuss Marks I through Mark VI, the design features, battlefield effectiveness, and the cultural significance of each Mark or armor. We conclude this series with revisiting how Black stories are affected when we own the whole damn house, and how they ar damaged when we are not in the room. And....We answer the question:Who Gets To Tell Black Stories????

We've seen what happens when we are given the space, the power, the resources to tell our own stories. But what about the other side?In this episode we will talk about what happens when Black are told without Black voices. We'll talk about erasure, distortion, as well as the psychological toll this takes on Black audiencesWe'll also ask (and answer) more questions:Can a non-Black creator tell Black stories?What can that non-Black creator do to bring respect, homage , and care to Black stories?What does legacy look like for Black stories?

The question of who gets to tell Black stories is not nuanced....It is, however a question that invites not only an answer, but a spirited, yet respectful discussion. What happens when Black stories are told by the creators and people that live them? What happens when Black creatives are not only in the room but run it? What happens Black creatives are not involved and the stories are told from a non-Black creative's lens, perspective, experience, perception, or idea? We will attempt to answer all those questions in this 3 part series.

I Know we don't talk about the failed reboot of "Good Times" by Netflix.But.....I would like talk about it. I'll start with the original and why it was so endearing, entertaining, how it became a cultural moment, and a flashpoint in Black television history.We'll take. hard look at how this reboot missed the mark, what it got wrong by leaning on outdated stereotypes, and turned complex, heartfelt characters into loud caricatured punchlines, as well turning it raunchy and irreverent. We'll also take a look what happens when reboots are done correctly, nd ask a very important question: Who gets to tell Black stories?

We've explored the Great Crusade, one of humanity's campaigns to date.....We watched the galaxy burn as the Horus Heresy... a betrayal so large, half of the Legions turned traitor, and made the Emperor a carrion God on The Golden Throne....We've explored the Scouring...a crusade of vengeance across the stars, but one by one, the Primarchs dissappeared....We witnessed the decentralization and reformation of the Astartes through the penning of the Codex Astates...Now....We turn our eye to the Primaris Space Marines, the penultimate creation of Archmagos Dominus Belisarius Cawl.
