Today, Mom and I dive deep into a not-so-fun time in her life and how she pulled herself out of the depths of addiction. We discuss how she got there, those first steps in, and then the first steps out of the throes of an intense and long winded addiction. We talk candidly about her recovery and the steps she took to find her way back. Today's podcast is not for the feint of heart, but we learn about Mom's unending strength and resilience and how she has overcome incredible trauma and grief. 

Today I am enjoying some much needed time off for some refelction, introspection, and of course, laundry... I am in Birmingham, and I once again have the pleasure of interviewing my amazing mother about my father's childhood and family. He passed away when I was 13 and I never really got to know a lot about his own upbringing. Mom shares some amazing and hilarious and touching stories about him and his family and how drastically different he and his family were to Mom's. I get to add some stories of my own too. Also, Mom and I are thre same kind of kookoo, so of course we had a SUPER time recording this! ENJOY!!

This week is part 2 of my Christmas conversation with my Mom! Somehow we both have the same favorite Christmas memory, and we take a trip down Christmas memory lane together :) 10 years ago, we had a holiday with every member of our immediate family (including 1st cousins), all in the same house, and it was MAGICAL!!! Merry Christmas y'all! 

Guess who's back on the podcast by popular demand???!! MIMI!!!! This week finds me on a quick trip to Birmingham to visit my Mom, and we sit down to discuss all things Christmas and Christmas traditions! We talk about our favorite childhood memories of Christmas, both her childhood and mine. It's fun and enlightening, and it very much got me in the spirit of the season!! Part 2 is next week! 

I am home now for a week and had a LOVELY Thanksgiving, as I hope everyone else did. I ate.... and ate.... AND ATE! Still prepping for my Christmas show coming up, and living my best pet dad life!! Also, I go back over some live recordings I did in 2021 called the 'Garage Sessions' with some of my all time favorite people and musicians, with clips of 5 of them! WOO HOO! 

I am in Hawaii and performing on a cruise ship for the last time this year with a rockin wavy ship! After a couple nights of great shows and the holidays coming up, I am EXCITED to start my holiday fun after this ship! Also, I start thinking about the future of this podcast and how it will transform :)

I'm a couple days late with this podcast, but it was with good reason :) A lovely week at home followed by an incredible family weekend! Also, I share some coming out stories (although I can already think of 10 more I could have added!). It's always a happy coming out day around these parts!! 

Join me as I conclude a 24 day Hawaiian/French Polynesian contract on the amazing Norwegian Spirit! It was a beautiful day in Kahalui, Maui with a couple glasses of wine (ALLEGEDLY!)!! Many amazing adventures have been had and many more to come :) All that AND a snippet of a brand new song! What more could you ask for?!

Traveling between Hawaii and French Polynesia, the seas were ROCKY AF OMG. But I had 2 successful shows, and the rocky seas did finally come to an end! Closest I've come to full barfing on a ship.... And we get to do the entire trip again! This circus is traveling!!!

I'm in Hilo, Hawaii today, exploring the cute town and eating all the things. Hawaii is MAGICAL! And I go through some amazing recordings from a crew staircase on the Norwegian Spirit last year with my friend Drake Allen. Being creative on a cruise ship is surprisingly difficult, but it flowed out of us like lava!!! Plus a wee snippet of our new song we wrote during a crazy rocky night onboard! 

Jet lag is a real thing y'all. As are travel issues, but it's all worth it in the end as I am beginning my long journey through the Hawaiian Islands and French Polynesia! Plus, NEW SINGLE WHO DIS? My new single with the Astronauts called 'Tell Me You Hate Me' comes out next Friday y'all!!! WOOOO HOOOOOOOO!

It's my second week at home in a row (WHO AM I?), but things never seem to calm down too much.... I am prepping for a very cool show called Songbirds & Crooners here in Nashville and some other fun music stuff for next week. Plus, I have found some old recordings of my college a cappella group, No Strings Attached, and it's pretty much rocking my world!
