#19 - A Deeper Dive into Open Relationships
Bradey has Jas & Lucy on, to dive deeper and explore the topic of open relationships further, from the inside out. Here is some of the evidence that Bradey discussed regarding the effect that was mentioned for children exposed to step/biologically unrelated adults/parents, there is plenty more research there, so if you would like some more sources feel free to reach out. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/16263983/ "Results: We identified 149 inflicted-injury deaths in our population during the 8-year study period. Children residing in households with unrelated adults were nearly 50 times as likely to die of inflicted injuries than children residing with 2 biological parents (adjusted odds ratio: 47.6; 95% confidence interval: 10.4-218)" https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/0162309585900123 "Both abuse and police apprehension were least likely for children living with two natural parents. Preschoolers living with one natural and one stepparent were 40 times more likely to become child abuse cases than were like-aged children living with two natural parents. Whereas abuse risk was significantly higher for children living with a stepparent than for those with a single parent, the reverse was true of the risk of apprehension for criminal offenses."
