The Long Game: A Café, a Calling & a Kingdom Mission

An episode on faith, entrepreneurship, long-term thinking, and the courage to build for the future God is calling you toward. What if the dream God has placed in your heart requires more than passion? What if it requires patience, vision, and the willingness to build slowly and strategically long before you see the results?Sometimes God calls us to look beyond immediate opportunities and short-term gains, investing instead in a future we cannot yet fully see. The work He entrusts to us can become more than a career—it can become a Kingdom assignment. He can use our skills, relationships, and businesses as instruments of His mission. After years of faithfully sharing Jesus with others at school, Hanaya prepares for the next season of her calling. She dreams of becoming an entrepreneurial missionary—building a business that serves people while advancing a Kingdom purpose. When a newly opened café catches her attention, Hanaya walks in looking for a part-time job during her summer school break. What begins as a simple interview quickly becomes something more. As the owner listens to her vision for the future, he realizes she isn't just a teenager asking for a job.In the episodes ahead, Hanaya will also discover who the owner really is—and why this encounter may be far more significant than she imagined.Hanaya Oki Chapters:https://open.spotify.com/playlist/7r2cZbxW9a3lozAhzXfEPyKnow more:https://superdifferent.com/hanaya

State of Mind: Learning to Let Go

Is God teaching you to surrender an outcome you desperately want?Sometimes we hold people, dreams, expectations, and plans so tightly that they become the source of our anxiety. Yet when we loosen our grip, we gain a wider perspective.Maybe some things are broken by design. Maybe some things are never meant to unfold the way we hope. And perhaps that is not a tragedy. There is a quiet beauty in accepting that rather than fighting it.In this episode of State of Mind, Hiroto finds himself missing Hanaya only a week into summer break. Knowing she would never agree to meet him one-on-one outside of school days, he turns to Yuri for help. Together, they plan a "chance encounter" at Shichirigahama Beach.Hanaya likes Hiroto, but she remains cautious. Her life is centered on God's calling and mission, leaving her uncertain where a relationship fits into her future. Hiroto understands this and has no intention of pressuring her or pushing beyond her boundaries. Instead, he simply wants to cherish whatever time he can with her.As they talk, he quietly confronts a painful truth: the path Hanaya feels called to follow may not be one he can walk beside her—at least not for now. Hanaya doesn't fully grasp the deeper meaning behind his words. What she doesn't realize is that the Holy Spirit has been quietly reshaping Hiroto's perspective.Rather than clinging to the outcome he wants most, he is learning something far more difficult: how to let go.Hanaya Oki Chapters:https://open.spotify.com/playlist/7r2cZbxW9a3lozAhzXfEPyKnow more:https://superdifferent.com/hanaya

8 Lessons to Live Boldly for Jesus (Before It’s Too Late)

Are you holding back your light for Jesus? Are you feeling hesitant to share your faith or speak the truth because of what others might think? Inspired by Charlie Kirk’s faith and courage, in this episode, Hanaya shares 8 lessons that challenge Christians—especially young believers—to rise above fear, embrace their mission, and boldly live for Jesus in every conversation, community, and calling. If you’re seeking courage, clarity, and guidance to make your life count for God’s purpose and shine bright for Jesus, this episode is a must-hear.What you’ll hear:1. Don’t Waste Your Life2. Endure Hardships and Conflicts3. Weakness Is Strength4. Trust the Process5. Think Outside the Box6. It’s Time to Stop Hiding7. Find Your Focus8. Your Voice Changes HistoryThis clip honors the memory of Charlie Kirk—a man who recognized his calling to youth, education, and politics, and stayed faithful to it. He intertwined his faith in Jesus with his cultural and political engagement, believing that truth belongs in every arena of life. On college campuses, he challenged conformity and inspired students to think critically and live courageously for truth. An unconventional evangelist, Charlie didn’t preach from pulpits but reasoned, debated, and engaged the questions of young people on university grounds. A reformer at heart, he saw the church not just as an institution, but as Christ’s ecclesia—called to bring biblical clarity and moral courage to every sphere of society.I want to be remembered for courage for my faith. — Charlie Kirk (1993-2025)We are called to live out our faith in everyday life—not just within church walls. Wherever we study, work, live, or spend time, those places are our mission fields. Yet too often, we’ve become convinced that as Christ followers we can be passive, keeping our faith private to avoid offense. We file into our churches and hide, as if our responsibility ends at the sanctuary doors. The greatest threat we face isn’t the depravity of the wicked, but the indifference of the faithful. — Allen Jackson Where are the people who are willing to be brave for King Jesus? Everybody likes to be liked. Everybody likes to be loved. But don't think for one second that you're ever going to get along with the world as long as you've signed up for King Jesus. Risking It All for Jesus and the Girl

What do you do when following Jesus costs more than you expected? We often believe it’s our right to enjoy a blessing—whatever form it takes. But if we chase the blessing more than we chase God’s call, we risk being deceived. Because not every blessing is truly a gift—sometimes it’s a snare. The real question is: can you let it go?This word is for anyone who longs to follow Jesus in a world that pulls hard in the opposite direction. Remember: we cannot serve two masters. In every temptation and trial, God is proving your faith and your obedience. One afternoon, as Hanaya and Hiroto linger after school, amid the fun and laughter, Hiroto admits the weight he feels—the steep cost of truly following Jesus. It’s the same crossroads each of us must face: surrender or self.Perhaps today you find yourself in that place, visited by change you didn’t expect—or maybe never wanted. The future feels uncertain. Questions of provision, purpose, and direction press heavy. Yet right here, in this very moment, God sets before you a hinge point. Your surrender today could swing open the door to the destiny He designed for you. Say yes. Step forward. Trust Him. Loving a Christian Girl of Contradictions

What do you do when she won't say how she really feels? Can love endure when her signals shift and blur? Can it withstand unanswered confessions? Can it survive the weight of pressure and expectation? In the haze of uncertainty, is there someone truly worth holding on to?Yeona playfully dresses up Hanaya and snaps photos that ripple through the school group chat. Norio and Akio are surprised Hiroto hasn’t seen them yet—but when he does, the longing he tried to bury begins to surface. At home, Hiroto faces pressure from his parents: disapproval of his new faith, the weight of their expectations, and even threats to pressure the school into acting against Hanaya if she keeps speaking to him about Jesus. At school, Hanaya has already told him to stop pursuing her (in clip: Choosing God’s Call Over Love), though her eyes hinted at something her words denied. She never truly answered his confession; she only turned it away with reasons he could not fight. With nothing more to say to convince her, frustrated and wounded, he withdrew into cold distance. Yet when he saw her picture, the ink in his diary dissolved into quiet longing. Is Yeona’s plan working? Could one photo break through his defenses? And if so—can Hiroto love with courage and patience? Can he endure both his parents’ pressure and Hanaya’s mixed signals long enough to fight for her, and for love itself?Hanaya Oki Chapters:https://open.spotify.com/playlist/7r2cZbxW9a3lozAhzXfEPyKnow more:https://superdifferent.com/hanaya

    For the Boy’s Attention… or God’s Glory?

As a Christian, it’s challenging to dress modestly in a culture that pressures you to be extra. The world says, “Look hot to get noticed.” But is being “hot” really the goal? Clothes are never just clothes—they reflect what we value. Christian modesty isn’t about rules—it’s honoring God above trends.Hanaya misses Hiroto. She senses he’s still upset and avoiding her. One afternoon, fresh from a run, she spots him playing basketball. She lingers behind a tree, quietly watching. Yeona, back from a modeling gig, notices Hanaya and sneaks up mischievously, teasing her to spill who she’s been staring at. She plots a plan to help Hanaya—suggesting a hot look to win the attention of the boy she likes. Their playful banter soon shifts into a deeper talk about modesty, heartbreak, and eternity-minded choices.John Piper:Don’t just ask, “What’s wrong with it?” about your music, your movies, your clothing, your parties, or your habits. Don’t just ask, “Is it a sin?”—that’s the lowest bar you can set for your life.Instead, ask: “Does this help me run? Does it help me run with all my focus, energy, and love for God? Or does it trip me up when I’m trying to grow in patience, kindness, gentleness, love, holiness, purity, and self-control?”Don’t aim for just avoiding sin. Don’t settle for the minimal standard. How Long, Lord, Before Clarity Comes?

In this heartfelt and intimate dialogue between Hanaya and Jesus, we explore the tension of making decisions when God’s will isn’t immediately clear. When it comes to the specifics of life, it often seems that God invites us into a process of discernment. He doesn’t always give immediate answers; instead, He allows us to wrestle with decisions. There’s a purpose in that struggle. If you’ve ever struggled to discern God’s direction in love, relationships, what job to take, whom to marry, where to live, or any other life decisions, this conversation will resonate deeply. After unintentionally hurting Hiroto with her words (previous clip), Hanaya finds herself burdened with guilt and inner conflict. Longing for clarity and peace, she retreats the next day—after school—to a quiet place, seeking solitude, reflection, and a space to pour out her heart to Jesus. There, in raw honesty, she wrestles with emotion, uncertainty, and the weight of an unclear future. Jesus offers compassionate wisdom on why He sometimes chooses to withhold clarity. Hanaya Oki Chapters:https://open.spotify.com/playlist/7r2cZbxW9a3lozAhzXfEPyKnow more:https://superdifferent.com/hanaya

She Chooses God’s Calling Over Love

Some believe love and calling don’t have to be at odds—that they can walk the same path. And sometimes, that’s true. But not always. Would you be willing to let go of someone you like if their path isn’t the one God is calling you to walk? Would you surrender to stay focused and faithful to your calling? When pressure mounts, when personal desire collides with divine direction, our choices reveal the true depth of our devotion to Jesus. Whose voice will we follow?Hiroto is upset-Hanaya never told him about the school meeting with his parents and others (previous clip). He feels blindsided, left out of something that clearly mattered. What stings most is his mom’s threat to Hanaya—something he now feels he should’ve seen coming.Meanwhile, Hanaya is wrestling with her unspoken feelings for Hiroto and the unsettling uncertainty of whether he truly belongs in her future. She fears that Hiroto may be pursuing the mission path more out of love for her than out of a true calling from Jesus. To her, his affection—deep and sincere as it is—seems to blur his ability to clearly hear Jesus' voice. And that worries her. In trying to protect both of them, Hanaya says things that may have unintentionally wounded him more deeply than she realized. She wants him to choose calling over love. But Hiroto believes his love for her is part of how his calling is being shaped.Did the school meeting push Hanaya to speak too soon? Or was it fear—fear that Hiroto isn’t ready for the pressure ahead? Was it the necessary truth that needed to be spoken in love, or Hanaya projecting her own doubts? Did she misread Hiroto’s heart… or did Hiroto misread hers? Could it be Jesus’ will for Hanaya and Hiroto to be together? Is Hanaya and Hiroto’s love part of Jesus’ plan? Christian Teen Girl Stands Up for Jesus at School

This compelling clip explores faith under pressure, the clash between conformity and courage, and the fire it takes to stand alone and speak the truth when silence feels safer. If you’ve ever felt pressure to hide what you believe, if you've ever been told to sit down when everything in you says to speak up — this moment will reach into your soul and hold a mirror to it.After secretly reading Hiroto’s diary and finding baptism photos on his phone, his parents are shaken — not just by what they see, but by what it implies. They’re not alone. Noriko and Akio’s families, equally alarmed, rally together. Unnerved by whispers of Jesus and Bible verses taking root in their children’s hearts, they reach out to Ms. Megumi, Hanaya’s classroom teacher, demanding a meeting with Hanaya and her mother. As members of well-connected, affluent households, they expect to be heard and get results. They intend to pressure Hanaya into silence, insisting she stop speaking about Jesus and the Bible at school. Ms. Megumi, caught between her professional duty and her concern for Hanaya, agrees to mediate the conversation. Confident in their social standing and convinced they can reason with Hanaya, the parents assume she’s merely a naive, misguided teen. But as the conversation unfolds, their assumptions begin to crack. They had gravely underestimated the strength of Hanaya’s conviction — and the depth of her understanding. Hanaya listens calmly. She answers with clarity, composure, and grace. And in their attempt to suppress the Gospel, they are, perhaps for the first time, standing in its light. When persuasion fails, frustration gives way to threats — in a final attempt to silence her voice. The unwasted life is the life that puts Christ on display as supremely valuable. I Met a Jesus Girl

Some girls at school are envious of the attention Hanaya is receiving from Hiroto. They gossip about her behind her back and slander her character. Meanwhile, Hiroto's mom is upset that he continues to hang out with Hanaya. Despite all this, Hiroto defends Hanaya as she endures criticism for talking about Jesus and the God-honoring way she carries herself at school. In Japan, there's a proverb that goes, "The nail that sticks out gets hammered down." Japanese society emphasizes conformity to keep things peaceful and harmonious. Any straying from the norm usually gets pushed back against.Hiroto sees it. He feels it. And it stirs something deep in him. He admires how brave Hanaya is for being herself. He writes down his thoughts while reflecting on the world, his life, and Hanaya. You probably could live a calmer life, an easier life, if you didn't know certain things, but once you know it, you can't go back on it.— Kevin ZadaiI know there's a lot going on, but someone has to stay focused on the Great Commission and on taking the Gospel to the ends of the earth. Half-Awake to Jesus? It's Time to Come Alive

Yuri: We are half-alive because we are half-awake to Jesus. We are far more busy than we want because we have far less of Jesus than we need. God's Calling & Dating Boundaries: A Road Less Taken

Hanaya can’t shake off her aunt’s comments about Hiroto (from the previous clip). While the two hang out in the school common room, she finally gathers the courage to ask what’s been weighing on her heart: “Are you following Jesus because you truly want to—or because you like me?”Caught off guard and afraid that she might stop talking to him, Hiroto plays it safe. What follows is an honest, heart-searching conversation about relationships, calling, and eternity. Hanaya shares her passion for cross-cultural missions after high school, her personal boundaries around purity, and her desire to live a life that truly matters. Hiroto begins to realize that pursuing her might come with deeper challenges—and deeper meaning—than he expected. He feels like time is slipping away. As Hanaya drifts off into a short nap, Hiroto watches her quietly, his heart stirred. In that still moment, he whispers a prayer to Jesus, unsure of the future but desperate to be real.Whether you're a Christian teen, a parent, a mentor, or just someone seeking truth—you’ll find something here to stir your heart, challenge your thinking, and remind you what really matters. Hanaya gently offers her perspective. As their talk deepens, the conversation shifts to relationships—specifically, whether any boys at school have shown interest in Hanaya. With heartfelt wisdom, her aunt speaks about the importance of setting clear boundaries and urges Hanaya to never let her guard down, especially when it comes to love and purity.Whether you’re a teen, young adult, or parent, this conversation will resonate with anyone seeking God’s direction and desiring to honor Him in their relationships.Hanaya Oki Chapters:https://open.spotify.com/playlist/7r2cZbxW9a3lozAhzXfEPyKnow more:https://superdifferent.com/hanaya

Sharing Jesus Got Her in Trouble at School

Are you afraid to share the Gospel when it matters most? In this clip, we explore what it means to have courage as a Christian under pressure and why to boldly speak the truth.Hanaya's teacher calls her in for a chat because some parents of her classmates have complained that she's influencing their children toward Christianity. Hanaya must decide: will she shrink back or stand strong for Jesus? Can she hold her ground under pressure? Will she play it safe and dim her light, or will she continue to be a bright shining lamp for Jesus at school? And what does Jesus say to Hanaya at the end?Context: What's Hanaya up against? For many Japanese people, Shintoism and Buddhism are closely intertwined with their identity and culture. Leaving your family's religion can be like leaving your family. Also, due to negative experiences with religious cults in the past, many Japanese are skeptical and suspicious of new beliefs. Religion and religious events are considered separate things by the Japanese. Religious activities in Japan tend to be pragmatic, like praying for money, success in exams, naming ceremonies, removing bad luck, dressing up for fun, etc. They don't think deeply about their beliefs. Also, recent studies indicate that 30% to 39% of the population identify as convinced atheists. We need the courage to declare and display the Gospel through our words, our work, and our character.— Dr. Patrick FungIt does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brushfires in people’s minds.— Samuel AdamsOur battle is a battle of persuasion. Be a voice, be an advocate for the Kingdom of God. Share the wonder, beauty, and truth of God without hesitation. When Life Brings Trials, Is Jesus Still Worthy?

I lost all my friends at school, now that I’ve begun to ‘walk my talk’, they make fun of me. I don’t even know what I have done. I don’t really have to say anything and they turn from me. But you know what, I am not going to apologize for speaking the name of Jesus. I am not going to justify my faith to them, and I am not going to hide the light that God has put into me. If I have to sacrifice everything I will. I will take it. If my friends have to become my enemies for me to be with my best friend Jesus, then that's fine with me.— Rachel Joy Scott | From her diary, 1998I dedicate this clip in memory of Rachel Joy Scott. Why Do People Fall Away from Faith?

On their way back from Shichirigahama beach, Hanaya and her mom engage in a conversation about what causes the hardening of the heart and the falling away of believers. They explore the sobering reality of how people can shipwreck their faith. False prophets, false Christs, false Gospel, and a false church are proliferating among us. How do believers get off track? What throws them into confusion and deception?Hanaya's mom cites that the fundamental problem is not the ignorance of the truth. There's a basic reason why people do not own up to the truth. As you listen to the words of caution and encouragement in this conversation, tend to the soil of your own heart. Stay anchored, stay alert, and most importantly, stay in love with God. The most ridiculous thing you can ever say is keep God first, keep God number one. Don't ever say that. Because you're assuming He's in the same category with everyone else. God's in a box all to Himself. There is no second. He's in a category completely separate and distinct from everything else that exists and He's there alone. I labor in my own heart to drive out other loves, competing loyalties. Let us get a greater vision of Him that He might be singular in our hearts. — Paul WasherProverbs 4:18 tells us, “The path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, that shines brighter and brighter until the full day.” When we walk the path of the righteous or the right path, our walk will become continually brighter no matter how much darkness increases around us. If this is not the case, if we, too, are experiencing increasing darkness, depression, and disorientation, then we have gotten off the right path. If we ask the Lord, He will help us understand where we got off track, but we must make the choice to turn around and be decisive in doing so. — Rick JoynerHanaya Oki Chapters:https://open.spotify.com/playlist/7r2cZbxW9a3lozAhzXfEPyKnow more:https://superdifferent.com/hanaya

Jesus: For My Sake and For The Gospel

The story of the rich young ruler is one of the saddest stories in the Bible because he had so much upside potential. He could have leveraged his resources, his network, and his energy for Kingdom causes, but he spent it all on himself. He thought that was what would make him happy. The moment Jesus said, “Follow me”, it was the opportunity of a lifetime, but he didn’t have the guts to go for it. What Jesus asked him to give up was nothing compared to what Jesus would have given him in return. We want everything God has to offer without giving anything up. We want to buy in without selling out. The Gospel costs nothing. We cannot buy it or earn it, but it demands everything. When did we start believing that God wants to send us to safe places to do easy things? That faithfulness is holding the fort? That playing it safe is safe? That radical is anything but normal? Jesus didn’t die to keep us safe. The will of God is not an insurance plan. It’s a daring plan.  The complete surrender of your life to the cause of Christ isn’t radical. It’s normal. It’s time to quit living as if the purpose of life is to arrive safely at death. It’s time to go all in.— Mark BattersonScripture: Mark 10:17-31

Don’t Overthink: Trust God, Run Into the Wind

On their way back home from Shichirigahama Beach, Hanaya and Yuri continue their conversation about trusting God with childlike faith instead of overthinking the future. When God nudges us to head in a certain direction, it can feel exciting but also a bit scary since we might only have a glimpse of the first step. But like Abraham, it is better to move forward even if we don’t know exactly where we’re headed. If you find yourself being too cautious, paralyzed by overthinking, or unsure about your next steps, this message and the song are for you. Better to do something imperfectly in obedience rather than to do nothing. Better to act today rather than wait for that imaginary tomorrow to arrive.— Michael L. BrownThe unique ways God loves to move should not disturb us. If anything, it should keep our relationship with Him fresh and exciting. For those who love adventure, this is great, while to the timid and rigid, this is frightening, which brings us to this challenge every believer must face— will we live by faith in Him or by fear? Now, the faith and confidence needed to be decisive can easily drift into presumption at times. Still, it is better to err on the side of extreme faith than too little faith. God can correct presumption and premature action. The law of inertia states you cannot steer what is not moving. It is much easier for the Lord to steer us when we are moving. No one passes God’s tests with a perfect score, but in Him, even our failures work for our good. — Rick JoynerSong lyrics:They were young and unawareA little scared, a little proudThey’d rather live with their questionsThan try to figure them outThey were friendly to allBut never had many friendsThey didn’t know where to goThey never made any plansJust running right into the windOoh they would rather say they didn’t matterJust so they don’t have to try to be coolBut ooh they were buzzing, living like there wasn’tDrama going on every day in the newsBut look at the way they goLook at the way they goLook at the way they goMaking it up as they goMaking it up as they goLiving their life on the runCouple of kids on the runLook at the way they goLook at the way they goHanaya Oki Chapters:https://open.spotify.com/playlist/7r2cZbxW9a3lozAhzXfEPyKnow more:https://superdifferent.com/hanaya

Is There More to Life Than Success?

Are you trying to figure out your true purpose in life? What if your purpose is bigger than success or people’s approval? While hanging out at Shichirigahama Beach, Hiroto bumps into Hanaya. As they chat, Hiroto opens up about the pressure he's feeling about his future. Hanaya shares her thoughts and encourages him to think about the bigger questions in life. This video dives into their honest conversation and offers some biblical wisdom, exploring how finding God’s will can help you lead a meaningful life beyond what society expects and short-lived achievements. It’s a call to shift your focus from fleeting goals to something eternal.Bonus note:Kevin Zadai shares a supernatural encounter with Jesus in 1992 when he had an out-of-body experience during a routine surgery:When I met Jesus, He said I want to work with you. He said we are going to rule and reign together, shoulder-to-shoulder for Eternity. He said this life down here is to develop you for your next position. He said you're qualifying down on the earth in this very short amount of time. Then at that point, He took His thumbnail and sliced down through a big long timeline that was in light. And He said that's 10,000 years on the timeline of Eternity. It was just this little slit. He said it was the extension of man. And to me, my life on Earth in that extension with respect to Eternity seemed really insignificant. However, He said you're qualifying for your next position. So whatever you do down here, with your talents and everything you were given, whatever you did with that, was then placed in your account in heaven, not in a monetary way. But that's where you entered into the Kingdom to work at your next position. And it was interesting because you would think well we're all equal you know, we all get the same thing, we all get eternal life, we all have the same position in Christ and all that. But what it is, it has to do with that parable of talents. It had to do with the fact that you were given a certain amount and then there was a congruent reward based on each individual on what they had done. But the wood, hay, and stubble were burned up. So what was not of the Spirit, what was not of the Lord, was burnt up. Paul said that some people will go through the fire and there'll be nothing. There'll be no rewards. There'll be nothing left. But they will escape through the fire. They will make it to Heaven but with no rewards.Hanaya Oki Chapters:https://open.spotify.com/playlist/7r2cZbxW9a3lozAhzXfEPyKnow more:https://superdifferent.com/hanaya

Rebels of Hope: Fighting Discouragement with Faith

Feeling disillusioned or worn out by life's battles? Two high school girls, Hanaya and Yuri, roll out a short message for those struggling with discouragement, confusion, and spiritual warfare. Don't give up. Fight back with faith and truth. Get fired up, stay unshakable, and become a rebel of hope. Watch now and join the resistance against discouragement, anxiety, and fear! Additional notes:Satan tries to create an altered reality by cloaking himself in information projection to engineer insecurity and anxiety in you. He wants to fragment you. He knows your trigger points to put you into a tailspin. His minions have studied you. You have become predictable. The strategy is to trick your mind to convince you of something and give a narrative that diminishes who you really are. That’s the warfare. He wants to discourage and wear you out so that you will not be effective. He is trying to get you to opt out by presenting lies and observed facts as reality. Every trigger point succeeds when you don’t feel loved and validated. The temptation is to back off and self-medicate your trauma, rejection, or frustration by running to an addiction. We get disillusioned because we do not perceive the truth in its pure form. We don’t see ourselves in the mirror of God’s Word. To live by the Spirit of God takes readjusting and overriding of your mental and emotional realm. Don’t settle for being a low-watt light. Jesus said a disciple who is perfectly trained will be like his teacher. We lose the edge to improve when we just want to maintain, but maintaining is of the devil. Walk in harmony with the Holy Spirit. He reveals the truth (true reality). He shows prophetic glimpses concerning your call and assignment. If things take time, stay in there. Some things have to do with the convergence of times and seasons of God in your life. Don’t drown six feet from your destination. We miss the supernatural because we are looking for the spectacular. If you frame your mind right and listen to the Holy Spirit no matter what’s going on in your everyday life, you will come out fine. Don’t fret. Don’t allow anything to fragment you.— Kevin Zadai | Warrior Notes  Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong.— 1 Corinthians 16:13Be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.— 1 Corinthians 15:58Hanaya Oki Chapters:https://open.spotify.com/playlist/7r2cZbxW9a3lozAhzXfEPyKnow more:https://superdifferent.com/hanaya

    Metamorphosis: Beholding Is Becoming

The Christian journey of becoming is an invitation to behold the glory of the Lord, rather than to obsess over ourselves and what the world thinks of us. In this reflection, Hanaya wrestles with the slow process of transformation—learning to rise above self-focus and worldly distractions in order to behold something far greater.Beholding is becoming. If there is any key to maturity, it is that. Behold your God in Jesus Christ. Because to see that for what it really is, will renew your mind and transform your life and produce unending worship.— John PiperAnd we all, with unveiled faces, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit. — 2 Corinthians 3:18The Greek word translated “transformed” in this verse is the same word that we translate as “metamorphosis” in English. This is the process of change from which a caterpillar becomes a butterfly. The caterpillar is a worm that must crawl on the earth, being conformed to the contours of the earth. Then it goes into a cocoon where it is transformed. However, one of the biggest tests the new creature will face is breaking out of the cocoon, but it is this great struggle that strengthens it so that it can flap its large wings when it is free. We too go through a great struggle to be transformed into the new creation we are called to be. Breaking free of the old self is the greatest struggle of all. It too is designed by God to strengthen us so that we can soar high above the earth to the heavenly places we are called to abide in. We must not waste our trials. We must not run from the struggle if we are going to become strong enough to be what we are called to be. Will our hearts yield to the process to enter the cocoon of change and be launched out to fly?Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.— Colossians 3:2 | Romans 12:2 Hanaya Oki Chapters:https://open.spotify.com/playlist/7r2cZbxW9a3lozAhzXfEPyKnow more:https://superdifferent.com/hanaya

It Takes More Faith to Be an Atheist

On a school trip, Yuri and her classmate Akio get into a discussion about God. Akio dismisses God’s existence. But Yuri challenges his belief in evolution with reasonable logic, critical thinking, and evidence for intelligent design. Akio also raises the question of Hell being unfair. If you want to explore in depth, check out: You Are Not an Accident: The Scientific Evidence for Design: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SIgjtJX1V5AEvidence Against Evolution: https://answersingenesis.org/evidence-against-evolution/Can Something Come From Nothing?: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=47aRphfPhYcA lot of atheists belittle beliefs that are based on faith. Yet when I look around the world, I find atheism requires much more of a leap of faith. When I come across a finely prepared meal on a table, it would be quite a leap of faith to believe that nothing put it there. And it would be far more reasonable to believe that something must have put it there. So it is with all of creation.— Matthew Warner If Evolution is true, then that means, you are merely a molecule in motion dancing to your own DNA. That all you are is matter. There is nothing spiritual about you. You have no soul. There is no objective right or wrong. — Mark SpenceAtheists have an active belief system with views concerning origins (that the universe and life arose by natural processes); no life after death; the existence of God; how to behave while alive; and so much more. Honest atheists will admit their worldview is a faith. Atheism is a religion! While atheism is a blind faith, its followers will still cry out, “We are not part of a religion!” Why do they plead this? First, if atheism were identified as a religion, atheists fear that their views might get kicked out of public places, like government-run schools. Second, these secularists will be less likely to be able to deceive children into thinking that their teachings (supposedly “neutral”) are not in conflict with the religious beliefs of students.— Ken HamHanaya Oki Chapters:https://open.spotify.com/playlist/7r2cZbxW9a3lozAhzXfEPyKnow more:https://superdifferent.com/hanaya

A Prayer for Raising Godly Kids

A flashback into a diary entry written by Hanaya’s mother during her early years as a young single mom. In a quiet, sacred moment, she pours out a prayer over little Hanaya—committing to raise her not by the world’s standards, but as the Lord’s girl.Have you ever wondered why some teens, even at 16 or 17, already walk with a depth of faith and maturity that seems far beyond their years? Though still growing, many of them carry a strong sense of identity, values, and purpose grounded in God. It’s rare—but it’s often rooted in an intentional environment created by parents, or a single parent, for their children’s Godly growth. They authentically model their own walk with Jesus to their kids.God is after the gaze of this generation. He is after their focus. So, as a parent, how do you help your kids perceive Jesus not as a vague murky distant concept, but as a living and dynamic presence in everything they do? What are your priorities when you pray for your kids? What do you think matters the most from an eternal perspective? If they learn to engage with God early and discern the voice of the Holy Spirit, they’ll be equipped to make wise choices, resist pitfalls, and boldly represent Jesus wherever they go.We don’t train ourselves so we don’t train our children. Everything you believe in has to be practical and applicable for your children. That means you yourself need to be fully convinced. Teach them how to engage with the Lord. For your kids, you should always present the supernatural to them. You should always give them the alternative to ask God for help first. Teach them to pray first. Teach them to believe God’s Word first and encourage them not to wait for someone else to do it for them.– Kevin ZadaiHanaya Oki Chapters:https://open.spotify.com/playlist/7r2cZbxW9a3lozAhzXfEPyKnow more:https://superdifferent.com/hanaya

God of the Endless Blue Sky

Led by the Holy Spirit, Hanaya—a teenager from Japan—finds herself at the right place and moment to meet Enkhtuya, a girl from a small Mongolian town. Just minutes into their conversation, Hanaya begins to introduce her to the God of the endless blue sky. And as she senses Enkhtuya is actively listening, she begins to unpack more truth.Mongolia is poetically called the 'Land of the Endless Blue Sky', as it has over 260 days of clear blue sky. Apart from Buddhism, Tengrism, the worship of the sky and nature, is still practiced in Mongolia today. According to this belief, the sky is the father, and the earth is the mother of all beings in the universe. This clip was inspired by a dream the Lord gave me during the night. In the dream, I was suddenly teleported to a foreign land, walking along a snow-covered road that felt like somewhere in Eurasia. Just ahead of me walked a girl who appeared to be around 17 or 18 years old. She looked sad, so I approached her and gently began to speak about God and His love. I only shared two or three simple truths, but as she listened, I could tell her heart was deeply touched—she had never heard about God in that way before. As I was getting ready to leave, she looked at me and said, “Why don’t you come to my place for some tea?” Then she looked up at the sky and added, “It’s a beautiful day.” The vivid blueness of the sky struck me in that moment—I could feel her openness, her quiet longing to hear more about God.You can read the rest of the dream here: https://superdifferent.com/its-a-beautiful-day/Hanaya Oki Chapters:https://open.spotify.com/playlist/7r2cZbxW9a3lozAhzXfEPyKnow more:https://superdifferent.com/hanaya

    Make the Darkness Nervous

Jesus sends Hanaya to Mongolia to carry out a mission. The darkness tries to intimidate her, but she doesn't back off. This clip was inspired by a dream that my wife had a few years ago. In the dream, my wife and I were walking down a road, minding our own business. We saw demonic forces releasing darkness over a place. We stopped and thought we must do something about it. We moved in the direction of the darkness. My wife rebuked the demonic forces. They started feeling uncomfortable and afraid. Then she heard a voice from behind saying, "You’re the Children of the Light".It's pretty clear what the Lord was showing through this dream. If we never go, we will never know. If we don't show up and do something, the darkness remains unchallenged. There's no resistance. The enemy keeps stealing, killing, and destroying. The light of the Gospel is to be lit in the dark. The enemy convinces us that it's too dark and too late to make a difference. He makes us overthink and doubt. So we hesitate to show up and do something. Instead of counting the bullets that are coming at you, count how many you've expelled out of your clip. It's not how many are fired at you, it's how many you have fired.  The weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty in God. Jesus showed up and made the darkness nervous. He destroyed the works of the devil. When we show up, God shows up. Boldness and endurance come when you know that the Lord has sent you. You didn't go because it was a good idea. You heard Him. Show up with your natural and spiritual gifting, maybe practical Kingdom solutions to problems, and seize the opportunities to share the Gospel. When you speak His Word, He backs it up, releasing hope, healing, deliverance, signs, and wonders. The yoke of darkness, fear, and hopelessness over people begins to break. It's the smallest spark that can light the dark.— Newsboys | That's How You Change The WorldI don't want to be a firecracker.
