Celebrating the 10th anniversary of Star Trek Beyond.Beyond is the last theatrical film to date. The film was released on July 22, 2016, to lower-than-normal box office of the three Kelvin Timeline films and also due to "Sequelitis" that plagued the summer of 2016. The film was Paramount's SOLE successful film of the year. The film's underperformance scrapped plans for a planned time-travel sequel. The film had one of the worst marketing campaigns despite it was released to celebrate Star Trek's 50th anniversary. Celebrating the 35th anniversary of Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country.After the relative failure of The Final Frontier, Paramount likely did not want to do another Star Trek feature film. A prequel was bandied about, but the looming 25th anniversary in 1991 convinced the studio to make one more adventure with the Original Series cast. Produced in time for the 1991 25th anniversary, the film brought back Nick Meyer, the director of The Wrath of Khan. The Undiscovered Country is the first Star Trek feature film to be released following the collapse of the Soviet Union, and as such the film relies on that to tell their version of it. Spaceballs.In 1987, legendary filmmaker Mel Brooks wanted to create a Star Wars-like spoof film. He got permission from Star Wars creator George Lucas to create such a film. Spaceballs was a modest box office hit, but in the nearly four decades since its release, the film has become an instant cult classic. A tribute to Jim "Gully" Gullickson and Karen Wright.In 2014, Jim Gullickson and Karen Wright, the general and operations managers of KMSU-FM in Mankato, Minnesota, took a chance on a young adult hoping to make it for himself as a broadcaster. Throughout 2015 and early 2016, these two people would become Wes' mentors. Jim Gullickson retired in 2019, and Karen Wright will be retiring at the end of 2025.
