This past year has given me a lot to think about. A morning stroll led me to the blossoming tree that inspired this track. Its falling petals reminded me of the fleeting nature of time, and how precious every moment we have. I had less than two weeks from start to finish in which to produce this track. In doing so, I followed my standard workflow for building remixes; listen to the original song once, wait a couple of days, then start chopping up the stems while building the song up around one of my original works-in-progress. I’m pretty pleased with how much work I was able to put into it while also working on college full-time; unfortunately, it wasn’t until today – about two months later – that I found the time to put together its release! Obligatory "Yes I'm Still Alive," just been really busy doing full-time at Berklee College of Music for the last few months. I got inspired last semester and produced this track, a style of music I've had an interest in for a long time but I'd never tried my hand at before. NGL, the hardest part of producing this track was figuring out what genre it was. I have decided to call it Neo-Retro-Alternative-Cyber-Future-Punk-Synthwave. When a recent college assignment required me to create a live DJ mix using stems, I decided to take the opportunity to build a track from scratch. It was a great opportunity to introduce myself to the world of stem files, which I have now come to see as a fantastic way to give DJs and content creators more creative freedom in their craft. As such, this is the first music project of mine to come in stem file format, which I'm super-excited about! I rarely do progressive house either, so this was definitely an experimental project for me.
