Two Degrees of Ken

Ken and Kendra catch up on heat waves, McCarthyism, & our current surveillance state.  It's a fun one! They actually mostly talk about relevance of On the Waterfront, John Early's Maddie's Secret's magic trick, and Ken's favorite movie of the year, The Samurai and The Prisoner. Ken also shares his latest kwibble, a recurring segment in which Kendra is sort of prisoner to Ken's meanderings!

The Kens go on an Odyssey and they have a blast! They try Cyclop's cheese, they say hi to a child giant, and return the siren's call.  They also saw Christopher Nolan's new movie, The Odyssey, which you may or may not have heard of. It's good! Go see it. Ken and Kendra have a spoiler aplenty discussion that ends in turmoil and disgust.  You see when it comes to Matt Damon, Ken love his beloved May Day.  Kendra? She says May NAY.  Either way, they both enjoyed the movie and theyre excited for more discussion about classics! We gotta hit the books!

The Kens have talked about Dew Point and now they're talking AQI - when will we reach the limits of what the limits of their knowledge when it comes to climate? Also, the talk books and bangers. Kendra has watched Backrooms, Ken hasn't but was open to spoilers, and spoil she did. Ken watched Is God Is, Kendra did not. He was courteous enough not to spoil and says everyone should do see this movie.

Ken and Kendra talk food poisoning, tap water, and sore butts. But they also talk movies! Kendra got to see Cary Grant's tan in VistaVision when she recently watched To Catch a Thief. Ken had 4 movies to recommend to Kendra, because he's insufferable. One of them was Dinner in America. Another was a French movie. Another an old Jodie Foster Disney movie called Candleshoe. And there's this guy named Spielberg.

The return of seltzer talk! Kendra tells Ken of a new show she has given up on after 6 episodes. It's called Off Campus and it has its charms. It's like Heated Rivalry except instead of hot gay sex it has pretty mild girl-guy stuff. Plus, Ken and Kendra talk about the latest books they've read. And finally Ken shifts talk to what else, movies, asking Kendra about her recent viewing of Rear Window, and also giving an update on his Best LA Movies list. Yes it exists, and yes Ken needs to calm down. See you next week!

Ken and Kendra have both seen I Love Boosters by Boots Riley. They both say they loved it. Ken gave it a 3.5 on Letterboxd and Kendra gave it a 5 stars. What else is new.Other topics include: Keke Palmer, Hugh Grant, Fruit, Wine, and Drip Drop.

The Kens talk modes of transportation, pandemoniums of parrots, and the necessity of tight pants. Ken watched Obsession and thinks it stumbled into being kind of brilliant. He also finally got his life together and watched Harold and Maude. Kendra takes a dip in the cool May waters of somewhere way too north to be doing that. All in all, refreshing!

Ken and Kendra are back, this time discussing such timely topics as giant Jolly Green Statues, the movie Ad Astra, and crying in movie theaters. Ken saw Blue Heron and calls it the best movie of the year, and a true work of art. Kendra saw a Green Giant in Minnesota years ago and looked up his skirt. Has Kendra seen Interstellar?
