Before Uffmoor, there was Sunday Syndrome.

From the Hello Fidelity recording sessions. I was really pleased with how the beats and ending turned out. I was trying to get a Dntel-like effect on the vocal but something different (not as good?) happened.

An old one recorded in the Hello Fidelity sessions.

A new track intended for a new release, People Are Guitars. The painting is Henry Mosley's The Lost Cause (1869).

Originally recorded in 2008 (probably) but not released until now. I deleted the original mixdown by accident after recovering it from the sands of time. So I went back to the master recordings and fixed some mixing errors and added a NES synth for the bass line. The violin-type sounds are a Gibson Flying V played with a bow. I'd originally mixed it so the lead guitar parts were quite cold and tinny - probably trying to avoid frequency conflicts. I stripped out that EQ for a slightly warmer, more natural guitar sound - EQ be darned! The painting is Ulysses by Herbert James Draper.

A track I forgot about for ten years but like for its rawness. As I remember, it was improvised and recorded pretty quickly. I'd definitely been listening to early Mountain Goats a lot.
