Welcome to Episode 332 of the UKSP! Well the Steelers were one and done in the playoffs once more - however a podcast commiserating over another early playoff exit has been superseded by a once every 2 decades level event. Mike Tomlin, Only the third Steelers Head coach since 1969, has announced that he is stepping down effective immediately. With that comes a flurry of activity and unknowns, many of us on the podcast have never even known a Steelers team with another coach at the helm. So Gav, Mark, Si, Ketts and our Coaching Consigliere Ran join you today for an impromptu round table on both the legacy of Mike Tomlin (something I'm sure we will discuss more in the coming months and years) as well as the coaching candidates that may wet our whistle when it comes to turning the page on the Tomlin era. Welcome to episode 328 of the UKSP!  Well the fishies were frozen in Pittsburgh on Monday night as the Steelers take it to a team that looked dead and out early in the 3rd quarter. With back to back wins and the Steelers edging closer to a possible AFC North title we are back again to flop flop on the question of Tomlin. There are undoubtedly things being built here and improvements can be seen but do these wins against sub par opponents really move the needle for Tomlin's job security? And should it? Well an iron rod has been dropped on the proverbial camel's back this week following a dismal, embarrassing home defeat in which the Buffalo Bills set the Heinz Field rushing record & possibly signalled the beginning of the end of the Tomlin era in Pittsburgh. With the Steelers feeling like they are circling the drain, the irony is they find themselves in the midst of a drunken bar fight for ownership of the AFC North title, perhaps not a title to brag too hard about this season but one that comes with a golden ticket to a home playoff game nonetheless. Welcome to Episode 322 of the UKSP! Another week dawns with Mark in Japan and Gav behind enemy lines, so Ketts & Si return - but luckily this week it's to slam the sewer lid shut! A shocking 27-20 victory over the seemingly surging Colts with 6 turnovers means the gents have 90 minutes to go back to gushing about the Steelers defence instead of denigrating it. The Steelers now turn to the West Coast to take on an injury ridden Chargers team looking to stay afloat in the AFC playoff race in what could turn out to be a huge game in the wildcard chase.
