Uncanny Valley is a label from Dresden, Germany.sub-labels: shtum Records & @credit00ratlifevisit our website for upcoming events:https://uncannyvalley.de/datesStarting as a label that served basically as a platform for their friends’ music in 2010, Uncanny Valley evolved into a record label that assembles acclaimed artists from the electronic music scene not only from the label’s base in Dresden but also from Germany and beyond. With a strong emphasis on the records’ artwork the label heads Philipp Demankowski, Conrad Kaden and Carl-Johannes Schulze are constantly on a mission to establish and refine the artists from the roster as well as to search for new talents. Artists as Jacob Korn, Cuthead, Credit 00, Massimiliano Pagliara, CVBox or Panthera Krause all feel at home on the label, giving them the chance to develop projects that are not only music related but can also integrate different art forms. UVMC07 - 01. Gareth Psaltis - These Shadows feat. Billy K
Release Date: May, 29, 2026 Artist: @barkingmusic Catalogue No.: UVMC07 To be released on tape and digitally Distributed by Clone Distribution P & © 2026 by Uncanny Valley – www.uncannyvalley.de Contact – [email protected] 01 Gareth Psaltis feat. Formerly releasing music under the moniker Barking, the Berlin-based producer now presents his most personal work to date under his full name—marking both an artistic and emotional shift. It’s his first release on the long-running Dresden-based label Uncanny Valley, which is venturing into uncharted territory with this release. The album signals a clear move away from the analogue-synthesis foundations of his earlier output towards a more fragmentary, collage-like approach. Samples drawn from obscure jazz and Greek folk records intertwine with everyday field recordings, framed by jungle rhythms and ambient drift but also post punk-informed basslines, wave and jazz structures. The result is music that feels intimate yet open-ended, rooted in club culture while quietly pulling away from it. Written over the past one to two years, IN HER REFLECTION mirrors a period of profound change in Psaltis’ life. Navigating the isolation and uncertainty of living in Berlin, the process was shaped by his wife’s pregnancy and the birth of his first daughter, experiences that brought new forms of connection, grounding and belonging. These themes surface most clearly on the title track, which also marks the first appearance of Psaltis’ own vocals, reflecting on transformation, vulnerability and closeness. Balancing introspection with rhythmic precision, IN HER REFLECTION is not a reinvention but a refinement, an album that embraces subtlety, memory and emotional resonance and positions Gareth Psaltis firmly within Uncanny Valley’s distinctive catalogue. The eight tracks form a coherently sounding album that is best visualided by the unique artwork by Carl-Johannes Schulze, one of the label heads. Uncanny Valley Radio 097 - Merry Ambient Christmas Part Eleven
As the year draws to a close, UV Radio host @philipp-demankowski returns to the show with a tradition that has become a quiet constant: the annual Ambient Special. Now in its eleventh edition, the show once again offers a gentle pause in an otherwise hectic year. Given the current state of the world, 90 minutes of drifting, unobtrusive sound may be just the kind of refuge many are looking for. Take a step back, settle into a calm space, and let the music do the rest. Uncanny Valley Radio 096 - Contemporary Dance Selection
Dancers have to train hard and perform with a rough edge, conveying emotions with as much acting ease as possible. At the end it also requires choreography, clothing, lighting and the appropriate set with lots of helping hands. The bigger the show, the more people are involved. With a few exceptions, it also needs sound, rhythm or just a appropriate soundscape. Sometimes existing music is used because it is structurally well suited to the piece. Other times, working with composers and musicians is the best way to put your own stamp on the piece bringing things to the point. @sandrow_m has been working with choreographers and dance piece makers for several years. With this compilation he presents 20 different pieces of music that were either used because of their suitability or were created. There is no attempt to present the entire spectrum, which would not be possible in 90 minutes anyway. Nevertheless the compilation contains various styles, for which, with a little patience, you can try to find corresponding film material on the Internet to complete your listening experience. 1. Thomas Bangalter - CHIROPTERA Solo Intro (from JR, Damien Jalet, Thomas Bangalter - CHIROPTERA) 2. Alisdair Macindoe - 4/4 (from Chunky Move – 4/4) 3. Steve Reich – Violin Phase 4. Hofesh Shechters Dancing Clowns (Directed, choreographed and composed by Hofesh Shechter) 5. Terry Riley – In C 6. Soundwalk Collective - Amputated Impulses (from Sasha Waltz – Kreatur) 7. Armand Amar feat. Isabel Sörling - Vertikal Pt 1 (from Armand Amar – Vertikal Pt 1) 8. Thomas Bangalter – CHIROPTERA (from JR, Damien Jalet, Thomas Bangalter – CHIROPTERA) 9. Mikael Karlsson - Eskapist_Procession (from Alexander Ekman - Eskapist) 10. Jamie xx – Gosh 11. Andrew Winghart – Step Into The Light (from Andrew Winghart – Step Into The Light) 12. Armand Amar - Pixel Life (Original Soundtrack for Pixel a Dance Performance) 13. Nikolaus Woernle - Landscapes (from Natalie Wagner - Im Puls) 14. Sandrow M - Ulf had nose (from Yaron Shamir – Mr. Krake) 15. Ori Lichtik feat. Gidon Schocken - Struße (from Sharon Eyal - Strong) 16. Ori Lichtik – Half Life (from Sharon Eyal – Half Life) 17. Travis Lake – Interrogation (Travis Lake – Avalanche) 18. Ran Bagno – Agapé Unison (Original Dance performance Soundtrack) 19. A.M. Beef - Awamamba (from Imre van Opstal - Wanderlust) 20. Nikolaus Woernle - Breakdown (from Natalie Wagner - Im Puls) For music written specifically for a dance piece, the choreographers and names of the pieces are given in brackets. Compositions that were used for one or more dance pieces due to their suitability after their creation are named without such a designation.

On his seventh EP for Uncanny Valley the Leipzig based funkster finds solace in his craft, doing what he does best. And that is to make dance music that is both undeniably catchy and blessed with an ever-surprising range of ideas and styles. What all the tracks have in common is that they have been written by someone who is deeply committed to the roots of dance music. On top of that, he has the enviable ability to find titles that already give you a hunch of sound and message of the tracks, even before you listen to them. Be it the title track with its wild Detroit rhythms and piano sound bits or the closer YOU NEED 2 CHILL, a still highly danceable ode to 90s chill out floors. While the stomping BRAZILIAN BUTT LIFT gets use of Credit 00’s own voice, the chords heavy CHURCH FOR THE RENEGADES is a perfect example of inventive use of vocal samples. All in all, it’s music you pretty much can’t help but love. Also, don’t miss a closer look at the front and back cover, which are full of references and iconographies from the history of dance music. Carl Suspect - 14 Years of Uncanny Valley
Fourteen years of Uncanny Valley - fourteen years of resisting the predictable, the neatly packaged crap that keeps electronic music stuck in a loop. Dresden's bastard child of a label has survived, thrived and kept its teeth by refusing to be just another name in the endless mess of club culture. And now Carl Suspect, co-label boss and sonic agitator, is opening up the archive and piecing together something raw, urgent and unfiltered. “14 Years of Uncanny Valley” is a journey through the dark corridors of house, jazz-funk, Italo, ambient and techno - an uncompromising, sweaty ride that feels less like a retrospective and more like a battle cry. And it's all on cassette, because fuck your algorithm-friendly playlists. This isn't nostalgia. This isn't a victory lap. It's proof that Uncanny Valley still doesn't play by the rules. Carl Suspect puts it on cassette - the rest is noise. My Flights Without You
After her debut EP for Hivern Discs, shtum is very happy to welcome Inga Mauer to the family. The Russian born but constantly travelling artist delivers the goods in form of four dust-dry and psychedelic Techno tracks that celebrate the obscurities. Starting with “Dno” she sets the tone with an anthem for dark skies and basements. “Silences” is captivating with its dysfunctional sounds. After the whirling dance of “My Flights Without You” you can’t help but feel a little dizzy. And “Dystopia” feels like hypnotic Techno with a punk attitude. DJ City - Moon Milk
From Sweden with Italo to Dresden with love. Stockholm's @djdjcity drops his first release on Dresden's Uncanny Valley with the COSMICOMICS EP, a 100% fun record for all the senses, deeply inspired by Italo Calvino's iconic short story collection. COSMICOMICS borrows its name from a collection of short stories written by Italian author Italo Calvino, first published in Italian in 1965. The stories have inspired DJ City to a record that aesthetically draws from 80s Italo Disco and 70s science fiction films. In the book, each story is based on a scientific fact about the world and the cosmos whilst using fiction to ask how we understand it. Where Calvino's stories are comical and absurd, DJ City surrenders to the sublime and romantic and moves further into the metaphysical world that Calvino created to come up with three energetic and melodic tracks bursting heavily with fantasy and drama. Deeply rooted in dance music’s history, they shine with Hi-NRG-vibes, strict dancefloor commitment and little easter eggs like that Drexciya-reference in COSMICOMICS. The cover of the record is a painting from 2020 by Swedish artist Jens Fänge called THE INN. We see a man in front of the entrance to a Mediterranean-style building and a woman in a window on the upper floor. The picture seems to have been broken up into several dimensions, and abstract details make it difficult for the viewer to know exactly what and when the scene is taking place. When shown in Shanghai, the painting was censored by government agents and had to be taken down. A testament to the power of the image. Perhaps it shows our main character, perhaps it shows us the author or the artist. Depending on who listens, who reads and who looks, a multitude of universes open. 01 Cosmicomics 02 Pillars of Creation 03 Moon Milk Credits Written and produced by Johan Norling. Lyrics by Johan Norling. Published by Copyright Control. Uncanny Valley Radio 093 - Bigos a la Balearic with Stachy.DJ
Here's the new radio show straight out of the studio from none other than @stachy, a true legend who has been living his daily life in Dresden for a few years now, but has a career that spans all sorts of roots in music, with a respectable background in hip-hop and a decent career in pop music under his belt. To this day, he just can't get enough of music, be it in an academic context, as a versatile electronic music producer, a passionate lover of ambient and vaporwave or as a fun DJ. For the show, he dives deep into his Polish roots with this special version of Baltic Balearica, which he calls Bigos a la Balearic. Have fun!

Not only is he one of the nicest people in Alt-Stralau, he also has the best taste in music beyond the blue lagoon. In addition to lawnmower symphonies and ambient cacophonies, Fabian has also acquired a veritable collection of Hawaiian music. Reason enough for Philipp to invite his good friend for the long awaited comeback of Uncanny Valley Radio to offer us a handpicked selection of traditional slack-key guitar ballads and ukulele serenades. Immerse yourself in the rich and vibrant world of Hawaiian music, where drums are strictly forbidden and swaying palm trees and crystal clear waters come alive through the rhythms. Aloha! As always at Christmas, Philipp gives you 90 minutes of contemplation with the annual Ambient Special. A lot has happened again this year in the land of wallpaper music, with Ambient taking another decisive step towards dominating pop music with new sounds and exciting artists. A development that will probably continue next year, apparently also because people are in good need of all forms of escape from reality right now. Uncanny Valley Radio 083 - Hamburg Electronic Underground Special with RVDS
The new UV Radio show uncovers once more the sound of a city that almost got lost under the many layers of street noise and residents' babble. After Philipp presented Dresden's unsung heroes in 2021, it's now done by none other than @rvds, who digs up electronic gems from his longtime hometown of Hamburg, including many of his friends or acquaintances. Of course Hamburg has a rich heritage of electronic music anyway. But in this show there is a lot to be discovered apart from the obvious names. Great tracks between experimental and house music, maybe the two constants in Hamburg's electronic music scene. On top, lots of Hamburg humor. Enjoy it. 1. If you haven't had a chance yet, you should check out the film. UV Podcast 104 - Phase Pattern
@phasepattern's contribution to our podcast series is called "London is a Country" and can be listened to as a bass heavy reflection on his 20 years long stay in the city which ended this year with his return to Germany. The title phrase is taken from a tune by Luke Vibert and refers to the city's broad variety of cultures that came with immigrants from all over the world. One fine example that left traces in the recording is the "Windrush Generation" (people that immigrated from the Caribbean countries between 1948 and 1973) as portrayed in the anthology film series Small Axe by Steve McQueen. Uncanny Valley Radio 079 - Euro 2020 Special with Gunnar, Conrad and Philipp
Even if the organizations behind it sometimes make professional football unbearable, the fun of the game is still there for @philipp-demankowski. Uncanny Valley Radio 078 - Dresden Electronic Underground Special
@philipp-demankowski: “It might be a bit exaggerated to state that Dresden was once called "Little Detroit from The East". But there is no question that deep and dirty electronic music has been produced and performed here in numerous dilapidated buildings since the fall of the Wall. Many exciting, often all-too-unknown artists have made sure of that, some of whom are still active today. Both the club culture infrastructure and today's generation of artists in Dresden benefit from this. So it's time for a little special to pay tribute to these unsung heroes. Anyhow, I picked a few of my faves from that place that is our hometown for the new show. Sorry for missing out some of you great artists. There will be a part 2, I’m sure.” Full Tracklist: bit.ly/uv_radio_dd_underground Soundcloud: bit.ly/uncanny_valley_radio_soundcloud iTunes: bit.ly/uvpod_itunes

UV Funk 074: Video Game Soundtrack Special - Indie Games
You don’t have to know what Nintendonitis is to enjoy the music that soundtracks the latest indie video games. There is a lot of creativity going on in these circles, where music and programming often happen hand in hand.
