    Current Events: Trump Derangement Syndrome

In this episode, the Unpopped Colonels talk about Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS). The Colonels first provide a foundation for TDS, including competing, working definitions, examples, pending legal actions, then move on to discussing it's affects on the very fabric of American pride. Do you think it's just a "left" thing? Well, the Colonels also go into that, so stay "right" here. They wrap things up with "Mail Call." The Unpopped Colonels Podcast

    Conspiracy Theories: Black Helicopters

In this episode, the Unpopped Colonels discuss the Black Helicopters Conspiracy Theory. No doubt, Black Helicopters are real, so the question becomes: what are they being used for? The Colonels first lay out the many branches of the Black Helicopter Conspiracy Theory, follow-up with some analysis, then wrap things up including addressing a listener note.  Visit our website, the Unpopped Colonels.

    Current Events: Judicial Activism

In this episode, the Unpopped Colonels discuss Judicial Activism - the philosophy that judges can and should go beyond the applicable law to consider broader societal-based implications as well as thier own respective social, political, and personal convictions. Are the Federal Courts willfully interjecting themself into the performance of President Trump. Do the Federal Courts have a hidden agenda? Are we in America witnessing a judicial coup d'etat? American Freedom of Speech

The Unpopped Colonels introduce their reboot of the Unpopped Colonels Podcast. It's been great with our initial effort, but we're looking for more engagement. So, we're jumping into Current Events and Current Issues (capitalization intended). In this episode, the Unpopped Colonels discuss one of America's greatest liberties: Freedom of Speech. It's a much overused and mailgned Freedom by those who reaaly don't understand the full value of the gift the Framers of the Constitution granted us all.  There are two categories of the spoken word: 1) protected, and 2) unprotected. Protected indicates the Government cannot impinge of the message offered;  this protected speech is narrowly tailord. Unprotected speech means, for lack of a better term - you're on your own. Freedom of Speech does no way shape or form you can say whatever you want to say, nor does it offer safe harbor to those who are here in our Great Country illegally. Current Events: One Nice Gesture

In this episode, the Colonels talk about how they overcame differences between one another allowing them to enjoy a life-long and Family Friendship.  In the first part of this episode, the Colonels talk about their first meeting on that fateful day in June 2006 in Georgia (hint: it didn't go so well), then three months in Wisconsin, followed by a year in Iraq, then homecoming in 2007, finally leading toward today in 2024.  What was the difference maker? One nice gesture, that's all it took. In the second part, the Colonels talk about a different direction the Unpopped Colonels Podcast will be taking.  Hint: a little societal history mixed in with some modern reflections.  Finally, we'd like to hear from you!  Send us a question and we'll answer it during one of our episodes! Conspiracy Theories: The RMS Titanic was Deliberately Sunk

In this episode, the Unpopped Colonels delve into a few conspiracy theories surrounding the Royal Mail Ship (RMS) Titanic...the "Wonder Ship," "Ship of Dreams," "Queen of the Ocean," "Unsinkable."  The Colonels talk about three competing conspiracy theories regarding Titanic's deliberate sinking (well, there is a fourth, but we just couldn't get into it...): The RMS Titanic did not sink at all; rather, it was the the RMS Olympic - Titanic's one-year older sister ship - that actually sank. The RMS Titanic indeed sank; however, it was not due to striking an iceberg - it was the result of a terrorist bombing. The sinking of the RMS Titanic was orchestrated to kill influencial businessmen who were on board and who opposed the formation of the United States Federal Reserve. OH, OK!  We'll throw the fourth one out, but we don't develop it in this episode: there was a mummy's curse placed on the RMS Titanic ultimately leading to it's misfortune - see, nothing here on that one. We'd love to hear from you...feel free to drop us a note at [email protected].

    Conspiracy Theories: Directed Energy Devices

CONSPIRACY THEORIES: DIRECTED ENERGY DEVICES.  Do they or do they not exist?  Have you ever felt like you were just zapped?  All of a sudden something just doesn't feel right?  In this episode, the Unpopped Colonels discuss Directed Energy Devices.  Lasers, microwaves, particle beams, sound beams (SouND BeaMS?)..yup!..there all in here.  The Colonels talk about first the different types of devices, some characteristics, and finish-up with some of the conspiracy theories surrounding them. Visit the Unpopped Colonels website or drop us a note at [email protected].  The Unpopped Colonels won't tell you what or how to think, they'll just leave you thinking for yourself.

    Conspiracy Theories: Birds Aren't Real

...are they real...ARE THEY?..in this episode, the Unpopped Colonels discuss the Conspiracy Theory surrounding "Birds Aren't Real."  Starting out as innocent urban prank, the "Birds Aren't Real" conspiracy theory most certainly should stop each of us in our tracks (OK, slippers) to just think - for at least a passing moment - to just think what if the concept is plausible?  Was Alfred Hitchcock in his 1963 thriller "The Birds" that far away from the truth, or was it credible Science Fiction?..are you absolutely confident every single Starling, Cardinal, or Blue Jay is actually part of Earth's beautiful green pastures (don't get me started on the ants), or are you thinking there is no way - NO WAY - the prescious presence of the colorful plummage of our feathered friends is completely innocent?..think conceptually, not literally...all we ask is to give a listen, be a part of the network and pass along our episode within your circle, and please - think for yourself...

    Our American Flag

The Unpopped Colonels kick-off a new feature: "Now You Know."  No agenda - just interesting things you may or may not know.  This episode focuses on Our American Flag - what it stands for, its development, and perhaps some insight why Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, Airmen & women, and Coasties are willing to sacrifice blood, sweat, and tears ensuring its dignity. Why red, white, and blue?  What's up with those stars and stripes?

  10. 36

    Conspiracy Theories: 5G Network

In this episode, the Unpopped Colonels take a look into the 5g Network Conspiracy Theory...well...turns out it's not just one "theory," it's a collection of sub-theories rolled up into one 5G Network conspiracy theory.  Is the government really using the 5G Network to control peoples minds?  Is 5G to blame for the global COVID-19 pandemic?  We won't tell you how or what to think, we'll leave you thinking for yourself. Current Events: Clash of Cultures

In this episode, the Unpopped Colonels talk about a global concept: Clash of Cultures.  The Colonels talk about mono- and multi-cultures, geographic influences, and lay the foundation for further discussions taking into account the events of today.  True to form, the Colonels leave politics and religion out of it, except for a few context-related exchanges.   The Colonels add a new working definition to the Unpopped Colonels Dictionary! 12. 34

    America: Reflections on Iraq

In this episode, the Colonels step out of their comfort zone, of sorts, and talk about their deployment into Iraq in 2006 - 2007.  We go through some of our thoughts about notification, pre-deployment, our time in-country, re-deployment, then back home.  Some humorous, some not-so humorous, and some, well... just reflections.  We even talk about our take-aways and the lessons we learned about each of ourselves as well as life in general. 13. 33

    Chemical Trails (CHEMTRAILS) Conspiracy Theory

In this episode, the Unpopped Colonels talk about the Chemical Trails (CHEMTRAILs) Conspiracy Theory.  Condensation Trails (CONTRAILs) are a thing in the airborne transportation industry...those cloud-like, straight-line things up in the sky emminating from in-flight aircraft way up in the troposphere.  Of course - those are CONTRAILs!..or are they?  There are those among us who say they are CHEMTRAILs, deliberately placed by the government for a variety of reasons.  The Colonels compare and contrast CONTRAILs and CHEMTRAILs, and offer-up a notional scenario - NOTIONAL! - with a little aircraft modification, material loading, a little chemistry, and a couple of other insights we learned along the way. This is a fun conversation.  We'd love to hear from you.  Visit us at https://unpoppedcolonels.com or drop us an e-mail at [email protected].  We don't have a phone number.

    Patriotism Today

In this episode, the Unpopped Colonels discuss the concept of Patriotism, specifically...what it means today.  Sure, the standard colonial definition is fairly well understood, but two-and-a-half centuries later, what does it mean?  It's an interesting conversation and Colonel Chris zings Colonel Brook on one particular discussion point.  Oh, and folks - every once in a while, pull off the side of the road and read a historical marker...

  15. 31

    Dropping DIMEs!

In this episode, the Unpopped Colonels continue their discussion into America's elements of National power.  The Colonels talk about a concept known as "DIME" (Diplomacy, Information, Military, and Economics).  These four elements comprise the traditional form of 'Murica's National Power; however, since the attacks of 9/11 in 2001, a new element continues to emerge, develop, and mature, that being Terrorism and Financial Intelligence (TFI)...we also throw in a few nuggets concerning Artificial Intelligence (AI)..

  16. 30

    Flat Earthers

In this episode, the Unpopped Colonels dealve into the Conspiracy Theory of Flat Earthers.  Do you think is is a simple backward-thinking idea?  You would be wrong to assume that...listen-in on both the political and physical Flat Earthers, what they believe, and what they defend.

  17. 29

Reflections on Andersonville Civil War Prison

In this episode, the Unpopped Colonels travel to the Andersonville Civil War Prison located in Andersonville, Georgia.  It was a solemn visit, to say the least.  Hastily constructed in 1864, the 16-acre site saw 45,000 Union Soldiers, now Prisoners of War, enter through the massive Andersonville gates, 13,000 of whom never returned home.  Being Soldiers ourselves, we felt the dispair of the Union prisoners as if we were walking among them; equally, we empathized with the Confederate Garrison being placed in an untennable situation. This episode is less of a history lesson and more on the reflections of these two Soldiers.  We wonder if the spirits still living there - Union and Confederate alike - stopped and watched these two Army Colonels - one of Northern heritage and the other of Southern heritage - walking respectfully together discussing their thoughts.

  18. 28

    America's National Power - a Primer

In this episode, the Unpopped Colonels discuss elements of America's National Power.  This episode is the first in a series about this topic.  We discuss how government is supposed to work - not how it actually works (which to be honest, its a mystery to us too).  Our conversation starts out with defining the concept of "Desired Endstate," then we move to a "Holistic Approach," then defining "Strategy" (hint - strategy and planning are two completely different things), we then introduce three national strategies: 1) National Security Strategy, 2) National Defense Strategy, and 3) National Military Strategy.  We then wrap things up talking about "Unity of Effort."  Its a great primer for how government is supposed to work...it doesn't matter if its National, State, or Local. Brook Update - Effects on Target

In this episode, Brook gives an update following his surgery to address his Prostate Cancer.  The Unpopped Colonels get into the, what seemed to be, long drive to the treatment center, the day of, and the relizations following.  As usual, we talk some, banter some, and simply openly discuss a topic not many men or Families want to discuss.  We even discuss for a bit some advice our former Commanding General offered to Brook - short and simple, but resonates to all of us.  It's a great conversation.

  21. 25

    Chicken and the Egg

In this episode, the Unpopped Colonels take a look at the apparent Egg Shortage of 2022 - 2023.  Some folks tell us the shortage and skyrocketting cost to the consumer is because of the Avian Flu outbreak in 2022.  Others aren't so sure.  But, the one thing we do know - the price of a dozen eggs continues to skyrocket!  Let us know your thoughts!  Drop us a note at [email protected]. 22. 24

    Salem Witch Trials

The Unpopped Colonels talk about the Salem Witch Trials of 1692 - 1693.  We toss around some background (dare we say history), then offer five theories as to the reason for the trials in the first place, then we reflect a bit and discuss whether or not the foundations for the Salem Witch Trials are still with us today.  Its a great talk - hope you enjoy it. And please, please, please...whatever platform you are using to listen to the Unpopped Colonels Podcast, leave us a quick review...if you like what your hearing, please consider sharing the Unpopped Colonels Podcast with you Friends! Brook's Update - Mission Analysis

In this episode, Brook gives us an update on his recently diagnosed Prostate Cancer.  Brook has seen a few more doctors, had some additional tests performed, and traveled to his cancer treatment center.  Just a brief update, but certainly enough.

    Choices

As part of our "America - What Does It Mean Today" segment, the Unpopped Colonels discuss the concept of 'Choices'...the philosophy behind our human ability to make either a hasty or deliberate decision, and what to do with the consequences resulting from the decisions we make.  Keep in mind, a consequence may be either positive or negative...as usual, its a great discussion leaving you - the listener - thinking for yourself. NOTE: we are still working through some hardware bugs, so there is a bit of "warbeling" in the audio, but we figured...even a "warbeled" episode is better than no episode...

  26. 20

Improving the Foxhole - the Hierarchy of Human Need

In this episode, the Unpopped Colonels talk about the hierarchy of human need, beginning with physiological needs (food, water, clothing, shelter, etc), moving on the psychological needs (security, employment, morality, etc.), a sense of belonging (Friendships, family, etc.), esteem (confidence, respect, etc), culminating in self-actualization (morality, creativity, acceptance, etc).  These concepts are captured under what is called Maslow's Hierarchy of Need, first introduced by Abraham Maslow in 1943.  Give it a listen and we hope we leave you thinking for yourself!

  27. 19

    Hurricane Ian

In this episode, the Unpopped Colonels talk about post-Hurricane Ian, the initial clean-up effort, and our reflections on folks coming together.  Hurricane Ian was one of the most powerful storms to ever hit the United States...please consider donating to the American Red Cross during the continual relief effort for the folks living or near the affected area.  It's a bit of a longer episode, but there is a lot to talk about.   Music Credit: Back Yard Rag by Jeremy Sherman, Standard License www.shockwave-sound.com, website visited and license purchase 09 November 2022

    Apollo Moon Landings "Hoax"

In this episode, the Unpopped Colonels initiate their conversations about Conspiracy Theories.  We start out deriving a working definition of the term "Conspiracy Theory," talk about a couple of our personal favorite Conspiracy Theories, then we delve into the alleged Apollo Moon Landings "Hoax."

  29. 17

    The 80% Solution

In this episode, the Unpopped Colonels start-in on their Military Science conversations talking about The 80% Solution, or the Pareto Principle.  Not military doctrine, but The 80% Solution allows the military planner to make an initial decision allowing for the development of a path forward.  It is equally effective in non-military applications such as business or daily life.

  30. 16

    The American Experiment

In this episode, Unpopped Colonels discusses whether or not the American Experiment continues today.  We start out with a little history, move into a little discussion about a "Republic" vs a "Democracy" (its a fun discussion), then wrap things up reflecting on today.

  31. 15

Generations - What are You Concerned About, Optimistic About, and What Do You Want Others to Know?

In this episode, Unpopped Colonels starts off our discussions about the Generational Bridge.  Three theories of this "Bridge" are discussed, followed up by some basic definitions, then we ask a Babby Boomer and a Gen Zer independently the exact same three questions.

  32. 14

    The Trail Ride

In this episode, Unpopped Colonels talk about rest, camaraderie, as viewed through a muddy Jeep windshield.
