We air live every Tuesday at 7 pm ET on YouTube.  Show topic/agenda: Buffalo Bills running back Ian Wheeler joins Wole and Ray on HBCU Corner to discuss his inspiring journey from Howard University football standout to United Bowl MVP and another opportunity in the NFL. Wheeler reflects on developing at “The Mecca,” beginning his Howard career as a walk-on and becoming one of the most explosive playmakers in Howard Bison football history. He finished his college career with nearly 2,500 all-purpose yards, set a Howard record with three kickoff-return touchdowns and helped the Bison capture back-to-back MEAC championships. After entering the NFL with the Chicago Bears, Wheeler faced a major setback when a preseason ACL injury interrupted a promising start. He discusses the perseverance required to overcome that injury, continue pursuing his goals and rebuild his path through the United Football League. Wheeler delivered a championship season with the Louisville Kings, rushing for 541 yards and setting a UFL single-game record with four rushing touchdowns. He then earned 2026 United Bowl MVP honors after producing 81 rushing yards and a go-ahead 44-yard touchdown in Louisville’s championship victory over the D.C. Defenders. That performance helped Wheeler earn a one-year contract with the Buffalo Bills and another chance to prove himself on football’s biggest stage. Ian also discusses his academic success at Howard, earning a 3.57 GPA and being accepted into the Howard University College of Medicine. From HBCU football and MEAC championships to professional football and medical-school aspirations, his story represents determination, discipline and excellence on and off the field. What part of Ian Wheeler’s journey inspires you the most? Share your thoughts in the comments. Episode 856: Commanders WR Debate: Re-Sign Deebo Samuel or Target Brandon Aiyuk?

Make sure you watch and subscribe to our shows, here on YouTube: Urban Sports Scene. Urban Sports Scene is a sports show based out of the DMV (DC, Maryland, Virginia).  The sports show provides youthful and fresh insight into all sports. The show stars Wole, and Ray. We air live every Tuesday at 7 pm ET on YouTube.  Show topic/agenda: Join Wole and special guest co-host Taj Wilson as they break down one of the biggest offseason questions for the Washington Commanders: 👉 Should the team re-sign Deebo Samuel or pivot to a younger option like Brandon Aiyuk? Deebo Samuel remains one of the most versatile playmakers in the NFL, bringing a unique “wide back” skillset that allows him to impact the game as both a receiver and runner. He has been a key contributor in the offense, producing strong numbers as a pass-catcher while adding value in the run game. However, with injuries and age becoming factors, Washington must decide if he’s worth a long-term commitment or a short-term deal. On the other hand, Brandon Aiyuk represents a potential long-term solution at wide receiver. Aiyuk is a younger, dynamic route-runner who can stretch the field and create separation, making him an ideal complement to Terry McLaurin. His skillset could provide the Commanders with a more traditional WR1/WR2 structure while maximizing offensive efficiency. 🔥 In this episode, we discuss: • Deebo Samuel’s fit in the Commanders’ offense moving forward • The risk vs. reward of re-signing a veteran playmaker • Why Brandon Aiyuk could be a better long-term investment • How this decision impacts Jayden Daniels and the offense • What GM Adam Peters should prioritize this offseason 💬 Commanders fans, we want to hear from you: Should Washington re-sign Deebo Samuel or go after Brandon Aiyuk? 📺 Don’t forget to LIKE, COMMENT, and SUBSCRIBE for more Washington Commanders coverage! We air live every Tuesday at 7 pm ET on YouTube.  Show topic/agenda: In this episode of Urban Sports Scene’s HBCU Corner, Wole sits down with Norfolk State University men’s basketball head coach Robert Jones to discuss the Spartans’ 2025–26 season and their upcoming MEAC Basketball Tournament matchup against South Carolina State. Coach Jones reflects on Norfolk State finishing fourth in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) and what it will take for the Spartans to make a deep run in the MEAC Tournament and March Madness. The Spartans enter the tournament after strong individual performances during the regular-season finale, including Devon Ellis leading Norfolk State with 22 points and Anthony McComb III surpassing the 1,000-career-point milestone. Norfolk State also picked up a key win over South Carolina State earlier this season, setting the stage for a highly anticipated rematch in the MEAC Tournament. With March Madness implications on the line, Coach Jones shares insight into the Spartans’ preparation, the team’s mentality heading into tournament play, and what it means to represent Norfolk State and HBCU basketball on a national stage. Episode 845: Commanders Free Agency Moves: Deatrich Wise Jr., Treylon Burks & Paul and Deebo Gone?

Make sure you watch and subscribe to our shows, here on YouTube: Urban Sports Scene. Urban Sports Scene is a sports show based out of the DMV (DC, Maryland, Virginia).  The sports show provides youthful and fresh insight into all sports. The show stars Wole, and Ray. We air live every Tuesday at 7 pm ET on YouTube.  Show topic/agenda: The Washington Commanders are making major roster decisions ahead of NFL Free Agency, bringing back key contributors while also creating salary cap flexibility and reshaping the roster. Washington recently re-signed WR Treylon Burks, DE Drake Jackson, DE Deatrich Wise Jr., K Jake Moody, and punter Tress Way, while also extending offensive linemen Nick Allegretti and Andrew Wylie to two-year deals as the team works to maintain depth and stability across the roster. One of the key moves is the two-year extension for Nick Allegretti, keeping the versatile offensive lineman in Washington through the 2027 season. Allegretti stepped into multiple roles along the offensive line last season, including center late in the year when injuries impacted the unit. At the same time, the Commanders are making notable roster changes to prepare for free agency and improve financial flexibility. Key developments this offseason include: • Center Tyler Biadasz being released, creating additional salary cap space and potentially opening a need at the center position. • Cornerback Marshon Lattimore expected to be released, a move that could free significant cap space as Washington reshapes its defense. • Wide receiver Deebo Samuel not expected to return in 2026, which may lead the Commanders to pursue additional wide receiver depth during free agency or the NFL Draft. • The future of offensive lineman Chris Paul remains uncertain as the team evaluates its options along the offensive line. These moves signal that GM Adam Peters and head coach Dan Quinn are continuing to reshape the roster as they build around quarterback Jayden Daniels and prepare for what could be an aggressive 2026 NFL free agency period. 🎙️ Join Wole on the Urban Sports Scene podcast as he breaks down: • The Commanders’ latest re-signings and contract extensions • Major roster changes heading into free agency • How these moves impact the Commanders’ roster for the 2026 season • Key positions Washington may address next Also, check out our Washington Commanders podcast "All Burgundy and Gold Errrything" on Fox Sports Radio 1340 AM and 96.9 FM Hopewell, VA.  Check out the Football Garbage Time podcast for all kinds of NFL Football content.  If you have any questions or comments email us at [email protected].
