Vento Sul (en. "South Wind") is a constantly growing and developing percussion ensemble (bras. "Bloco") based in Graz and Vienna whose musical work ranges over Afro-Brazilian rhythms, traditionally as well as experimentally arranged.The basis of the musical repertoire is a mix of Reggae rhythms from Bahia, Candomblé music as well as Funk, Maracatu and Axé compositions. The stirring grooves, inspired by Afro Blocos from the Northeast of Brazil, are in large part arranged by the musical leader (bras. "Mestre") Irmin Amtmann and continuously elaborated within the [email protected]
