    Episode 5 - Tyreek McDole

    Vocalist Tyreek McDole talks with Jazz Hall Radio about his debut album "Open Up Your Senses," honoring jazz tradition and creating his place in it, his Haitian-American family and musical heritage, and where he hopes to take his music going forward.  Tyreek McDole makes his first Alabama performance on June 20, 2026 at Birmingham's historic Carver Theatre.

    Episode 4 - Hoover First Edition

    Hoover High School's First Edition band played alongside some of the top high school bands in the world in 2025, performing as a finalist in the Essentially Ellington festival at Jazz at Lincoln Center. In January 2026, First Edition will perform in New Orleans at the Jazz Education Network's annual conference. On this episode of Voices of Jazz, we'll hear from several musicians in the 2025-26 band, along with director Sallie Vines White.
