Hoover High School's First Edition band played alongside some of the top high school bands in the world in 2025, performing as a finalist in the Essentially Ellington festival at Jazz at Lincoln Center. In January 2026, First Edition will perform in New Orleans at the Jazz Education Network's annual conference.
