Episode 13: The biggest price tags on your wedding day venue and photography.
Wedding budgets are one of the most stressful parts of planning a wedding, and most couples go into it with no idea where to start, what things actually cost, or where they can afford to cut corners and where they absolutely cannot. In this episode, we are sitting down with Morgan from the Pearl Street Family of Venues and Alexandria from Photos by Alexandra to have an honest conversation about wedding budgets from two of the most important vendor perspectives — the venue and the photographer. We are getting into what couples should realistically expect to spend, how to prioritize your budget when you cannot do everything, what questions you should be asking vendors before you book, and the mistakes couples make that end up costing them more in the long run.Two vendors. Two completely different parts of your wedding day. One conversation about the money stuff nobody wants to talk about but everybody needs to hear.Guest Information:Events by Pearl Street - https://eventsbypearlstreet.com/https://www.facebook.com/PearlStreetCateringhttps://www.instagram.com/pearlstreetcatering/Photography by Alexandra - https://photographybyalexandra.com/https://www.facebook.com/269487797042091https://www.instagram.com/pbyalexandra/Host Information:Ron from Buffalo POD - https://www.facebook.com/BuffaloPODhttps://www.instagram.com/buffalopod716/https://www.buffalopod.comMolly from The Planning Touch - https://www.instagram.com/theplanningtouch/https://www.facebook.com/theplanningtouchhttps://www.theplanningtouch.com/Heather from Upstate Indie Weddings -https://www.instagram.com/upstateindieweddings/https://www.facebook.com/upstateindieweddingshttps://www.upstateindieweddings.com#buffalowedding #weddingplanner #podcast

Episode 11: "Everything You Don't See: Inside the Mind of a Wedding Planner"
Everyone sees the flowers, the dress, the first dance. Nobody sees the 11pm venue walkthrough, the vendor who cancels two weeks out, or the moment the timeline falls apart and someone has to quietly fix it before the couple ever notices. That someone is the wedding planner. In this episode, we're sitting down with Katie from Under the Willow to pull back the curtain on what wedding planning actually looks like from the other side of the table. From the first consultation to the final dance, Katie walks us through what couples get right, what they get completely wrong, and the moments that don't make it into the highlight reel. We're getting into the real conversations — budget reality checks, family dynamics, the vendors you should splurge on and the ones you can skip, and what Katie wishes every couple knew before they started planning. If you're engaged, thinking about getting engaged, or just curious what it actually takes to pull off a wedding — this one's for you.Guest Information:https://underthewillow.net/https://www.facebook.com/UnderTheWillowEventshttps://www.instagram.com/under_the_willow_events/Host Information:Ron from Buffalo POD - https://www.facebook.com/BuffaloPODhttps://www.instagram.com/buffalopod716/https://www.buffalopod.comMolly from The Planning Touch - https://www.instagram.com/theplanningtouch/https://www.facebook.com/theplanningtouchhttps://www.theplanningtouch.com/Heather from Upstate Indie Weddings -https://www.instagram.com/upstateindieweddings/https://www.facebook.com/upstateindieweddingshttps://www.upstateindieweddings.com#buffalowedding #weddingplanner #podcast

Episode 10: The Wedding Vendors You Didn't Know You Needed
There are two vendors quietly becoming the most talked-about moments at weddings — and chances are you've never thought to book them.In this episode, we're sitting down with two Buffalo-area creatives who are completely changing what guests experience on a wedding day.First, Paige from Paige's Creations joins us to talk about live wedding painting — the art of capturing your ceremony or reception in real time, on canvas, while your guests watch it come to life. We're talking about what it's actually like to paint a wedding, how couples incorporate the finished piece into their day, and why a live painting might be the most personal keepsake you'll ever own. Then, Jen from Nickel City Moss joins us to talk moon readings — and what that even means in a wedding context. Whether you're a believer or a skeptic, there's something undeniably personal about sitting down with someone on your wedding day and getting a reading that's entirely about you, your partner, and the chapter you're starting together. Two completely different experiences. One conversation. And honestly — by the end of this episode you might be rethinking your entire vendor list.Guest Information:Nickel City Moss & Moon:https://www.nickelcitymossandmoon.com/https://www.instagram.com/nickelcity_mossandmoon/Paiges Creations and Live Paintings:https://paigescreationsandlivepainting.com/https://www.facebook.com/paigescreationslivepaintinghttps://www.instagram.com/paigescreationsandlivepainting/Host Information:Ron from Buffalo POD - https://www.facebook.com/BuffaloPODhttps://www.instagram.com/buffalopod716/https://www.buffalopod.comMolly from The Planning Touch - https://www.instagram.com/theplanningtouch/https://www.facebook.com/theplanningtouchhttps://www.theplanningtouch.com/Heather from Upstate Indie Weddings -https://www.instagram.com/upstateindieweddings/https://www.facebook.com/upstateindieweddingshttps://www.upstateindieweddings.com

Episode 9: To Invite or Not to Invite: The Kids at Weddings Debate
Every wedding season it happens. A couple makes the call — kids welcome or child-free — and without fail, someone is offended, someone shows up with uninvited kids anyway, and someone leaves their newborn home and resents it for years. It's one of the most divisive decisions in wedding planning, and nobody talks about it honestly. So we are.In this episode, we're getting into the real debate around kids at weddings — both sides, no filter. Should children be welcome at every celebration, no exceptions? Is a child-free wedding a completely reasonable boundary that adults need to stop taking personally? What about infants? Flower girls? The kid who screams through the vows? We're covering it all — the parents who can't afford a babysitter, showing up with uninvited kids, and the grown adults who cut off family members over a child-free wedding invitation.Where do you stand? Let us know.

In this episode, we break down how to set realistic numbers for each, when to splurge vs. save, and how to negotiate without ruining the relationship. Whether you're working with $5k or $50k, you'll walk away with a clear framework for making confident decisions that won't haunt you on the day.Guest Information:Photography by Alexandrahttps://photographybyalexandra.com/https://www.instagram.com/pbyalexandra/https://www.facebook.com/269487797042091Pearl Street Venues & Catering:https://eventsbypearlstreet.com/https://www.instagram.com/pearlstreetcatering/https://www.facebook.com/PearlStreetCateringHost Information:Ron from Buffalo POD - https://www.facebook.com/BuffaloPODhttps://www.instagram.com/buffalopod716/https://www.buffalopod.comMolly from The Planning Touch - https://www.instagram.com/theplanningtouch/https://www.facebook.com/theplanningtouchhttps://www.theplanningtouch.com/Heather from Upstate Indie Weddings -https://www.instagram.com/upstateindieweddings/https://www.facebook.com/upstateindieweddingshttps://www.upstateindieweddings.com

Episode 23: The Saturn Club
The Saturn Club was founded in 1885 by thirteen enthusiastic young men who felt the need to congregate in a less formal setting than their 'Father's Club', founded in 1867. They first congregated on Saturdays (thus the name) to socialize and play cards. While Saturn Club members are active in all aspects of the community, the Club remains true to its origins. It is a social club first, offering recreation, fine dining, fitness programs, member-friendly banquet facilities, and meeting rooms with high-tech support. We've come a long way since 1885, and we look forward to exceeding our standards as Western New York's premier private social club. #14: The Village Bake Shoppe
Located in the heart of Historic Lewiston NY, the Village Bake Shoppe has been warming the hearts and satisfying the sweet tooth of dessert lovers since 1993. Within a few feet of the beautiful Niagara River waterfront bordering the U.S and Canada, the Bake Shoppe has impeccable standards to provide world class desserts using original recipes and the finest and freshest ingredients. There is no surprise that over 30 years later locals and tourists still enjoy our made from scratch goodies! History: The Village Bake Shoppe was founded in 1993 by Mother & Daughter Vicki and Tracy J. Marshall. Tracy was an award-winning Pastry Chef who attended Boston College and returned back home to Lewiston to open up her dream Bake Shoppe. Both Vicki & Tracy operated the Village Bake Shoppe until Tracy's death in 2001. That same year, Bridget Schroeder took over the Bake Shoppe and expanded the business to its current location at 417 Center Street. After 10 successful years of business, the Schroeder's retired and sold it to Michael Fiore and his family in 2011.Over the years, the Bake Shoppe’s desserts have been present at memorable Grande Openings and unforgettable events. When the famous Hard Rock Café came to Niagara Falls, they asked the Village Bake Shoppe to prepare all the desserts for the celebrity-filled grand opening. Considered a fabulous success, the star of the evening was the unique "barrel-over the falls" cake designed exclusively for the Grand Opening. in 2017 the Anchor Bar Wing Co. commissioned the Village Bake Shoppe to create a chicken wing cake for their grand opening in downtown Niagara Falls. The Bake Shoppe provides desserts for several local restaurants including:Big Ditch Brewing Co., The Red Coach Inn, District 37, The Griffon Gastropub Pub, Top of the Falls, Woodcock Brothers, The Village Eatery, Davison Road Inn, Brickyard Pub, Sunset Grill, Canal Club 62, The Brookside Inn, Cask & Cow, Wagners, Danny Sheehan's, Parkway Prime, & Tavern at Windsor Park. When you are dining in for dinner at one of these fabulous restaurants, don’t forget to end your meal with a delicious dessert from us!Host InformationThe Planning Touch@ThePlanningTouchUpstate Indie Weddings@UpstateIndieWeddingsBuffalo Bartenders@BuffaloBartenders

#12: The Bridal Chateau
The WHY of our business has evolved over the years as times keep changing. Women’s empowerment was important, but it’s no longer enough. We have taken a big shift these last few years. We had to get really focused, especially through the trials and tribulations that 2020 brought. With unknown shut down and supply chain issues (that we still are feeling years later) we decided to move to focus solely on wedding gowns. The purpose was to ensure anybody that wanted to wear a wedding gown could do so despite their time frame, size, race, religion, disability or self orientation. We’ve hyper focused on making sure we are a space where everyone can feel safe, be heard, and happy. The Bridal Chateau:On the WebFacebookInstagramHost InformationThe Planning Touch@ThePlanningTouchUpstate Indie Weddings@UpstateIndieWeddingsBuffalo Bartenders@BuffaloBartenders
