This lesson, titled "In the Lions' Den", focuses on the destructive nature of jealousy and the reward of unwavering faithfulness to God.Key highlights from this lesson include:The Pitfalls of Jealousy: See how the other leaders’ envy of Daniel’s "excellent spirit" led them to plot his downfall—and how that trap eventually backfired on them.Faith Under Pressure: Learn from Daniel’s example as he continues his daily habit of prayer and thanksgiving, even after a royal decree made it a crime.Divine Deliverance: Reflect on the miracle of God sending His angel to shut the lions' mouths and the resulting hymn of praise from King Darius.Practical Lessons: Donnie shares concluding thoughts on the dangers of greed and the importance of remaining obedient and loyal to God, regardless of the consequences.Whether you are facing a challenge to your faith or looking to deepen your understanding of this biblical account, this video offers insightful commentary for your spiritual walk.

The Danger of Pride
In today’s lesson, we delve into the powerful biblical warning against "The Danger of Pride." Using the dramatic story of Belshazzar’s feast and the mysterious writing on the wall from Daniel 5, we explore why pride is often called the number one reason for failure in both our Christian walk and life.We discuss how King Belshazzar’s blatant disrespect for God—drinking from sacred temple vessels and praising idols—led to his immediate judgment. Unlike his predecessor Nebuchadnezzar, who was eventually humbled, Belshazzar refused to learn from history, proving that pride creates a dangerous barrier between us and the Lord.Join us as we discuss:The Writing on the Wall: Analyzing the message of "Mene, Mene, Tekel, Upharsin" and what it means to be "found wanting."A Call to Humility: Lessons from 1 Peter 5:5-6 on why God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.Learning from the Past: Why it’s critical to reflect on the consequences of those who came before us.Scripture References:Daniel 5:1-311 Peter 5:5-6Genesis 3:5Let’s strive to clothe ourselves with humility and seek God with a meek heart.

Committed to Christ
AG Sunday School Lesson for April 12, 2026. Text taken from Matthew 7:13–29.Assemblies of God (AG) Sunday School lesson for April 12, 2026, which focuses on the conclusion of the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 7:13–29).The Two Paths: Narrow vs. WideJesus presents a choice between two lifestyles. The wide gate represents an easy, popular path that leads to destruction. In contrast, the narrow gate is a difficult, defined path that leads to eternal life. The Principle: You reap what you sow. Living "according to the flesh" leads to corruption, while living "by the Spirit" leads to life (Galatians 6:7–8).Identifying False ProphetsBelievers must be vigilant about who they follow. Deceivers often appear as "sheep" but are "inwardly ravenous wolves."The Test: You will know them by their fruit. Just as a healthy tree cannot produce bad fruit, a true man or woman of God will be known by their character and adherence to sound doctrine rather than conceit or controversy (1 Timothy 6:3–5).Authentic Obedience vs. Lip ServiceReligious activity does not guarantee salvation. Jesus warns that even those who prophesy or perform miracles in His name may be rejected if they do not actually do the will of the Father. The Warning: It is possible to deceive oneself. True faith requires being a "doer of the word" and not just a hearer (James 1:22).The Foundation: Building on the RockThe lesson concludes with the parable of the two builders. The Wise Builder: Hears and obeys Jesus’ words, creating a life that survives the storms. The Foolish Builder: Hears but ignores the truth, leading to a "great fall" when trials come. The Material: Beyond the foundation (Christ), we must be careful with what we build (gold and silver vs. hay and stubble), as our works will be tested by fire (1 Corinthians 3:11–15).The Authority of ChristThe crowds were astonished because Jesus taught with inherent authority, unlike the scribes who merely cited traditions. While we respect His Word, the lesson warns against personal arrogance; we must remain humble in our interpretations, remembering that Jesus is God and we are not.

Death Destroyed
This Sunday School lesson, titled "Death Destroyed," provides a comprehensive look at 1 Corinthians 15:20–58. It addresses the historical confusion surrounding the resurrection and offers a breakdown of Paul’s theological defense of the believer's future hope.Historical & Theological ContextThe Corinthian church was influenced by two major anti-resurrection views:The Sadducees: Jewish leaders who believed in the Law but denied an afterlife.Greek Philosophy: Viewed the physical body as a "hindrance" and only valued the immortality of the soul. The lesson also outlines a Pretribulation Rapture perspective, viewing the resurrection as a key event leading toward the Millennial reign of Christ and the eventual creation of a New Heaven and New Earth.

Our Hope In Christ
Sunday School lesson "Our Hope in Christ," as presented by Donnie Bryson. Based on Matthew 6:19–34, this lesson focuses on shifting our focus from earthly anxieties to spiritual security.1. Prioritize Eternal TreasuresThe lesson begins with a call to stop obsessing over bank accounts and worldly goods. Jesus teaches that earthly treasures are temporary—vulnerable to decay and theft.Heart Placement: Where your treasure is, your heart will be also. The Single Eye: A "healthy eye" stays focused on God, while a "bad eye" is clouded by greed. No Dual Masters: You cannot serve both God and Money (Mammon); one will always take precedence over the other. The Balance: While we are commanded to work hard and earn a living (citing 2 Thessalonians 3), our primary focus must remain on spiritual blessings rather than accumulating wealth.2. The Futility of AnxietyWorry is described as a "trap of the devil" that yields no positive results. The lesson highlights eight specific reasons why we should not be anxious:Life is more than just food. The body is more valuable than clothing.Humans are greater than material objects.God feeds the birds; He will surely feed people.Worry cannot add a single hour to your life.People are more significant than plants.God’s providence covers all creation.Worry is useless and sinful.3. Lessons from NatureThe natural world serves as a divine classroom for trust. The Birds: They don't sow or reap, yet God feeds them. However, they still "fly and hunt." We should do our best (work) and trust God for the rest. The Lilies: Even Solomon’s splendor couldn't compare to the beauty God gives to the grass of the field, which is temporary. If God cares for the grass, He will certainly care for His children.4. Seek the Kingdom FirstThe remedy for worry is a change in priorities. Instead of seeking what to eat, drink, or wear—things that consume those who do not know God—believers are told to seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness.Trusting God’s Knowledge: Your Heavenly Father already knows your needs.Living in the Present: Don't borrow trouble from tomorrow. Focus on today’s responsibilities and trust God to meet you in the future.Concluding ThoughtTrue hope in Christ is found by rejecting the "love of the world" (1 John 2:15–17) and resting in the knowledge that God is a provider. Don't worry, and keep your attention focused on Christ.

Christlike Morality
AG Sunday School Matthew 5:21-48 for March 8, 2026.The lesson highlights how Jesus raises the bar from ancient laws to internal motivations. Being a follower of Christ means transforming how we think and feel, not just how we act.Anger and Reconciliation: It is not enough to avoid murder. Jesus warns that harboring anger or insulting others is a spiritual danger. Believers are urged to prioritize reconciliation with others even before religious duties.Lust and Purity: Morality extends to the thought life. Lustful intent is viewed as "adultery of the heart." The lesson calls for radical discipline in "cutting off" sinful influences—metaphorically, not literally.Marriage and Integrity: Divorce should not be sought over "trivia" or personal whims. While safety is a priority (especially in cases of violence), commitment is a sacred bond that should be honored with maturity.Honesty (Oaths): A Christian's character should be so reliable that oaths are unnecessary. Simple, honest speech—letting your "Yes" be "Yes"—is the standard. The Call to Radical GraceJesus shifts the focus from "fairness" to extraordinary generosity and love.Non-Retaliation: While "an eye for an eye" was a legal limit on punishment, Jesus calls for personal leniency. Instead of seeking revenge, believers are encouraged to respond to mistreatment with kindness and extra service.Loving Enemies: Christian love is distinct because it extends to those who do not deserve it. By praying for persecutors and doing good to all, believers reflect the character of God, who provides "sun and rain" to both the good and the evil.

Responsibility of Children to Parents
Summary: Responsibility of Children to ParentsThe biblical mandate for children is not merely about childhood obedience; it is a lifelong commitment to honoring the family unit as designed by God. This responsibility can be broken down into four key pillars:1. Honor and Reverence (The Foundation)Based on Exodus 20:12 and Leviticus 19:3, honoring parents is the first commandment accompanied by a promise of blessing and longevity. This honor is not just a polite gesture; it is a form of holiness. To revere one's parents is presented alongside keeping the Sabbath, highlighting its spiritual importance.2. Practical Care and SupportTrue honor manifests as action, especially as parents age.Presence: As illustrated by your story of the lonely radio listener, children have a duty to ensure their parents are not neglected or isolated.Provision: In Matthew 15, Jesus rebukes those who use religious "traditions" as an excuse to withhold financial or practical support from their aging parents. Godly responsibility takes precedence over superficial religious shows.3. The Value of Parental WisdomChildren are encouraged to view parental instruction as a "graceful garland" (Proverbs 1:8–9).Listening to the generation that came before allows children to learn from both the triumphs and failures of their elders.Seeking this wisdom is compared to searching for hidden treasure; it leads to a deeper understanding of the "fear of the Lord."4. Obedience with DiscernmentWhile Ephesians 6:1–3 and Colossians 3:20 command children to "obey your parents in everything," this comes with a "Lord-first" condition.Obedience is the standard because parents generally have the child's best interests at heart. The Exception: Using the example of Jonathan and King Saul, obedience ends where sin begins. If a command is clearly sinful, the child’s primary loyalty remains with God.

Responsibility of Parents to Children
AG Sunday School Lesson February 8, 2026.This Sunday School lesson by Donnie Bryson, titled "Responsibility of Parents to Children," explores the biblical mandate to raise children in a God-centered home. The lesson navigates the tension between the harshness of ancient laws and the permissiveness of modern parenting, advocating for a balanced, scriptural approach.Key Principles of Godly Parenting1. The Spiritual FoundationGod at the Center: Based on Psalm 127, the lesson emphasizes that unless the Lord builds the house, the parents' labor is in vain. Success in family life isn't found in "anxious toil" but in God’s blessing.Children as a Heritage: Children should be viewed as rewards and "arrows" in a warrior's hand—a source of strength and a legacy for the future.2. Training and Character FormationLong-term Investment: Proverbs 22:6 notes that training a child "in the way he should go" provides a foundation they will return to, even if they wander during their younger years. The Purpose of Discipline: Discipline is intended to "drive out folly." The author stresses that correction (including corporal punishment as a last resort) must:Be rare and controlled.Never be done in anger or as a "pressure release" for the parent’s stress.Be clearly explained so the child understands the "why."3. Divine Modeling (God as Father)Discipline as Love: Drawing from Hebrews 12, the lesson compares parental correction to God’s discipline. If God corrects us, it is proof of His love and our status as His children.Growth through Difficulty: Just as a teacher applies pressure to help a student improve, parents should allow children to face consequences and challenges to foster growth and maturity.Summary of Parent ResponsibilitiesTeach: Actively share information about God and life.Exemplify: Provide a godly example through your own actions.Balance: Combine nurturing and instruction with firm discipline.Selflessness: Ensure all parenting choices are for the child’s benefit, not the parent's convenience.Concluding Thought: Parenting is a generational blessing. When done with a focus on God’s wisdom, it leads to the "peaceful fruit of righteousness" and the joy of seeing grandchildren walk in the same faith.

Breakfast with Jesus
AG Sunday School Lesson for January 25, 2026. Lesson taken from John 21:1-25.AG Sunday School Lesson for January 25, 2026. This lesson, presented by Minister Donnie Bryson, explores the profound encounter between the risen Christ and seven of His disciples at the Sea of Tiberias. It focuses on themes of restoration, divine provision, and individual calling.1. A Miraculous Catch (John 21:1–6)Returning to their former lives as fishermen, the disciples fish all night but catch nothing. At daybreak, a "stranger" on the shore instructs them to cast their net on the right side of the boat. The Result: They catch so many fish they cannot haul the net in.The Parallel: This mirrors a similar miracle early in Jesus' ministry (Luke 5), though this time the nets remain intact.2. Recognition and Reunion (John 21:7–14)Upon realizing the stranger is Jesus, Peter impulsively dives into the sea to reach Him. On shore, the disciples find Jesus has already prepared a charcoal fire with bread and fish. The Symbolism: The charcoal fire serves as a poignant reminder of the fire Peter stood by when he denied Jesus. The Harvest: They count exactly 153 large fish, yet the net is not torn, signifying God's ability to preserve what He provides.3. The Restoration of Peter (John 21:15–17)In the most emotional part of the lesson, Jesus asks Peter "Do you love me?" three times—matching the three times Peter denied Him.The Language: The lesson highlights the shift in Greek terms for love, moving from agapao (divine, supreme love) to phileo (brotherly friendship). The Mission: With each confession of love, Jesus gives Peter a command: "Feed my lambs," "Tend my sheep," and "Feed my sheep."4. Purpose and Individual Callings (John 21:18–25)Jesus concludes the meeting by prophesying the nature of Peter’s death (crucifixion) and addressing Peter's curiosity about the apostle John’s future.Focus on the Call: When Peter asks about John, Jesus redirects him: "What is that to you? You follow me!" * Correcting Rumors: John uses the conclusion of his Gospel to clarify that Jesus never promised he wouldn't die, but rather emphasized that each believer has a unique path.Key Spiritual TakeawaysFaithfulness: Do what God has called you to do and remain vigilant.Humility: Avoid the "braggart’s" trap; Peter’s failure followed his boast of being the bravest.Restoration: No matter the failure, Jesus is willing to take you back and recommission you for His work.

Jesus Prays for His Own
AG Sunday School Lesson for January 18, 2026.This Sunday School lesson by Donnie Bryson focuses on John 17:1–26, often referred to as Jesus' "High Priestly Prayer." This passage marks the conclusion of Jesus' final discourse to His disciples before His arrest.Below is a summary of the six key themes explored in the lesson:1. The Purpose of Glory (vv. 1–5)Jesus begins by asking the Father to glorify Him so that He, in turn, may glorify the Father. Donnie notes that this prayer likely took place while they were walking, illustrating that prayer can happen anywhere and at any time.Key takeaway: Eternal life is defined here as knowing the only true God and Jesus Christ.2. The Power of Acceptance (vv. 6–10)Jesus affirms that He has fulfilled His mission and revealed God's name to those given to Him. The lesson highlights the paradox of election and free will: God chooses His people, yet those people must also keep His word.Perspective: This paradox exists because God views all of eternity as the "present," while humans experience time linearly.3. Protection in Unity (vv. 11–12)As Jesus prepares to leave the world, He prays for the protection of His apostles. He asks that they may be "one" just as the Father and Son are one.Intercession: This section reminds us that Jesus continues to make intercession for believers today (Hebrews 7:25).4. The Pursuit of Joy (vv. 13–19)Jesus prays for the disciples to have full joy and to be sanctified (set apart) by the truth.Living in the World: Jesus does not ask to take believers out of the world, but rather to protect them from the evil one while they fulfill their mission within it.5. The Promise of Oneness (vv. 20–23)Jesus extends His prayer to all future believers. He uses the analogy of a football team: though players have different roles (teaching, singing, cleaning), they share a single goal—winning souls. The Goal of Unity: Christian unity serves as a witness to the world that God sent Jesus.6. The Promise of Glory (vv. 24–26)The prayer concludes with Jesus' desire for His followers to be with Him and see His eternal glory. He emphasizes that the same love the Father has for the Son should reside within every believer.Concluding ThoughtsThe lesson wraps up with two practical applications for daily life:Walk in Love: We must be full of compassion and pray for those in need.Growth: We must continually strive to grow in God's grace.

Jesus: Our Example of Servanthood
AG Sunday School Lesson for January 11, 2026. John 13:1-17This lesson, presented by Donnie Bryson for January 11, 2026, focuses on the profound act of humility Jesus performed during the Last Supper. By washing the disciples' feet, Jesus established a permanent blueprint for Christian leadership and interpersonal relationships.1. Love in the Face of BetrayalThe lesson begins by highlighting Jesus’s total awareness and intentionality. Even though He knew Judas would betray Him and Peter would deny Him, Jesus chose to love them "to the end."A Spiritual Battle: While there were 13 men in the room, the text reminds us that Satan was also present, having prompted Judas.Sovereign Knowledge: Jesus served from a position of strength, knowing He had come from God and was returning to God.2. The Act of Ultimate HumilityIn a culture where foot washing was the lowly task of a slave, Jesus—the Master—voluntarily took the towel and basin. This act was particularly poignant because it followed an argument among the disciples about who was the "greatest."The Model of Greatness: Jesus reinforces His teaching from Matthew 18: true greatness in the Kingdom is found in taking a lowly position, similar to that of a child.3. The Two Types of CleaningA key theological insight in this lesson is the distinction between two Greek concepts of washing mentioned in John 13:10:TermMeaningBiblical ContextLouoA full bath / immersionRegeneration: The "once-for-all" cleaning that happens at conversion.NiptoWiping or washing a partDaily Sanctification: The ongoing need to "wash off the dust" of the world through repentance and help from fellow believers.4. The Command to ServeJesus concludes the demonstration with a direct command. He does not suggest servanthood; He mandates it.No Servant is Greater: Since the Master washed feet, the messengers cannot claim to be "above" such tasks. The Promise of Blessing: Jesus explicitly states that the blessing comes not just from knowing these truths, but from doing them. The Mindset of Christ: Referencing Philippians 2:3–5, the lesson calls believers to value others above themselves and look out for the interests of their neighbors.Concluding ThoughtsWalk in Humility: Make it a daily prayer to guard against pride and "false modesty."Serve Practically: Whether through a formal foot-washing service or daily acts of kindness, look for ways to "wash the feet" of those around you.
