#500 EPISODES: Lemn Sissay & Lisa Faulkner
This is one of most beautiful and most emotional episodes we've ever made. It's actually from later in the first year of the podcast (October 2019) but we really wanted to play it again for you - here's how we described it at the time. Original billing for this episode: In one of our favourite episodes ever, Kate Thornton is joined by poet Lemn Sissay and actress Lisa Faulkner for a no-holds-barred discussion of foster care and adoption in the UK. Lemn and Lisa come from two vastly different experiences: Lemn was taken from his unwed mother and placed with a foster family who turned him out of their home when he was 12; Lisa adopted her daughter in 2006, and counts it as the best decision of her life. Listen for a moving lesson in love and belonging. We're working on new episodes of the podcast - and we'll be back with some more fabulous guests at the end of the summer. Cheers!x Hosted on Acast. #500 EPISODES: Lisa Stansfield & Friends (Ep#12)
Another trip down memory lane as we spend the Summer reliving some of our earliest episodes. The original billing of this episode read: Join Kate Thornton as she poses three questions to three well-known friends over three glasses of wine. On this episode, we’re joined by pop icon Lisa Stansfield (All Around The World). She has brought along her manager-turned-mate Rachel George, and barber-turned-bestie Lisa Eastwood for a discussion around friendship, feminism and IVF.So settle in and enjoy 40minutes (and maybe a glass of wine or two) in the company of a legend. Cheers, x Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

#500 EPISODES: Josie Gibson & Malin Andersson (Ep#18)
Welcome back to White Wine Question Time - and our summer of reflection. It's a while since we've listened to some of these episodes - and today's comes from friends Josie Gibson & Malin Andersson. We say friends - but their friendship had played out entirely through social media - what you're about to hear is actually the first time they'd met. When Malin lost her baby aged just one-month-old Josie took it upon herself to gather messages of support and kept Malin in a constant supply of videos. It's an act of kindness that sums up their supportive friendship. As you can imagine - some sections of this conversation were quite raw, and we discuss infant death, suicidal thoughts and and other potentially disturbing topics. But there is also light to balance the shade - and plenty of it - the final words of this episode might just be the best words ever spoken on the podcast. And bear in mind that this pod was recorded in 2018... there's one moment where Josie refers to social media as having been through its dark period and is getting generally more positive. We even predict that 'influencers' won't be a thing in five years time. Well... we can't always be right. Cheers! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

#500 EPISODES: Tamzin Outhwaite, Louie Spence & Lucy Alexander (#Ep7)
Ready for another deep cut? With our 500th episode fast approaching we're rewinding back to the very origins of the podcast - and today we've hit episode SEVEN. It's a good one - with three people who first met at drama college and have been friends ever since. This is how the episode was originally described: Join Kate Thornton as she poses three questions to three well-known friends over three glasses of wine. On this episode: Homes Under the Hammer alum Lucy Alexander joins Eastenders star and actress Tamzin Outhwaite and Pineapple Dance Studios star, Louie Spence. They discuss their shared history at drama school in the 80s, memorable auditions and their personal experiences with anxiety and panic attacks.Cheers! xx Hosted on Acast. #500 EPISODES: Denise Welsh & friends (Ep #4)
Content warning: There is lots of honest discussion about mental health and mental illness is this episode - it's all first hand experience, but it might be a difficult listen for some. Another DEEP dive into the archive as we prepare for our 500th episode. Corrie veteran Denise Welch, No Limits original Jenny Powell, and Holby City star Angela Lonsdale talk sobriety, mental health, and romance.Denise is ALWAYS one of our favourite guests - and she's been around since ALMOST the first episode - this was her debut on the pod, but we're pretty sure she holds the record for the most appearances - and rightly so she is a FAB-U-LOUS woman. Hopefully MANY more Denise episodes to come in the next 500 conversations. Cheers, x Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

#500 EPISODES: Keith Lemon, Joe Swash & Chris Moyles (#Ep 8)
Welcome to White Wine Question Time - and we're heading DEEP into the archive this Summer to revisit some of our very first episodes. Before we tell you about today's - we should mention it's DEFINITELY one for the adults only - this isn't an episode for a family car journey down to the coast! Because this was our first all-male episode - and the men in question were Keith Lemon (Leigh Francis), Joe Swash and Chris Moyles. We cover porn, women and Christmas lesbians. We did warn you. Most of the episode sounds like it was recorded yesterday - and then Joe says 'Stacey offers to pay with Apple Pay - which is only accepted in about 30% of shops' Sometimes it's the tiny details that anchor these episodes in space and time. So let's take a trip back to 2018 and episode 8 of White Wine Question Time. Cheers! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

#500 EPISODES: All Saints (Ep#5)
We're fast approaching episode #500 so we're revisiting some of the very first episodes of White Wine Question Time. Next stop on our trip down memory lane is Episode #4 from February 2018 featuring three of All Saints - Nic Appleton, Mel Blatt and Shaznay LewisWe're listening to all of our original episodes at the moment and choosing the best ones to play for you - so if you have a favourite let us know! As you can hear the show has changed a lot over 500 episodes - but we'll be back with new guests, and maybe some more changes after the Summer. Cheers! Hosted on Acast. #500 EPISODES: Ep#1 Revisited
Welcome to White Wine Question Time - the podcast that these days asks its guests three thought-provoking questions over three glasses of wine.BUT that wasn't always the case. Originally this podcast was conceived as three guests, and three BOTTLES of wine in every episode. So as we approach our 500th episode we thought it would be a good idea to go back to where it all began and pick out some of our favourite episodes from those early days. And they don't come any earlier than this episode... the OG, numero uno, the origin. Episode #1 - with Angela Griffin, Lisa Faulkner and Heidi Partakis (Range) It's actually extraordinary listening back to this episode that it could have been recorded last week, but in fact this was 2018 - FIVE Prime Ministers ago! We'll be back with something new at the end of the summer, but until then I hope you enjoy this trip down memory lane.Cheers. NEW EPISODE: Natalie Cassidy on Hun Status and Life-Changing Calls
Natalie Cassidy is having a moment - last month she appeared on stage at The Mighty Hoopla in a wedding dress playing the trumpet - a nod to her many years as Sonia Fowler in EastEnders. Her status as one of the younger huns is surely undeniable and she's now playing a leading role in Ricky Gervais' new animated project. Natalie's always honest, and in this chat she opens up about the people who've helped her on her way, and what the future holds. Alley Cats is an adult animated comedy created by Ricky Gervais, premiering on Netflix on August 7, 2026Cheers Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Sam Neill - A Reflection on a Life Well Lived
It was with great sadness that we heard the news on Monday that Sam Neill had died at the age of 78. Sam was a guest on White Wine Question Time last year - and so this week we're bringing you that conversation. He was full of enthusiasm, and such a great storyteller. We'll be pouring a glass and watching some Sam classics this weekend, and I hope you will be too. Rest in Peace Sam. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

NEW EPISODE: Fern Britton on empty nesting, Rivals and missed opportunites
In the 8+ years of this pod we haven't invited many guests back for a second appearance - but we knew we had to make an exception for Fern Britton. Small screen royalty Fern is a TV pioneer and a woman we can ALL learn from. Now living in Cornwall, writing her incredibly successful novels and back on our screens with 'Inside the Vets' on ITV she shares her knowledge on coping with children leaving home, how to live without regret and how to deal with unwanted approaches in a restaurant (you'll want to hear this one!)She's always good company so I hope you enjoy this episode. FROM THE CELLAR: Jack Dee
We do like to ponder our selections from the cellar - and when we finished recording Seann Walsh we knew exactly who to pair his episode with - so please enjoy a bottle of the finest Jack Dee. Jack joined us back in 2024 to talk about what was then his new podcast with Seann 'For the Love of Dog' - a sort of canine 'Parenting Hell' The podcast's still going strong, and Seann was great last week - so what better time than to revisit a classic episode with the one and only, Jack Dee. Enjoy! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

NEW EPISODE: Seann Walsh's I'm A Celebrity insight.
Seann Walsh doesn't want us to mention his tour merchandise in these show notes (you'll hear why) so instead here's his tour schedule. There's so much more to Seann than the headlines you've inevitably read, and it was great to sit down with him for a chat about parenting, perspective and why he's stopped selling his tour merch. We also got ALL the goss from THAT I'm A Celebrity final - what did go on during the ad breaks, and what's going on in the contestant's WhatsApp group? It's a lovely listen and you can hear ALL THREE questions in this episode. Cheers, Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Her new book It’s Probably Nothing: Critical Conversations on the Women’s Health Crisis (and How to Thrive Despite It) is out now and it's a strong recommend. It exposes the truth about how women seeking help with their health have been repeatedly failed, drawing on Naga's own experience of being dismissed, undiagnosed and misdiagnosed. In this conversation Naga talks about her health battles, dealing with chronic pain, and how women can refuse to just 'settle' It's a fascinating chat - and as ever we'd love to hear from you - so let us know what you think. NEW EPISODE: Vicky Pattison on the women who saved her life
This week it's a WELCOME BACK to Vicky Pattison - she's completing her hat-trick of episodes, and it's quite an emotional one. In this part we chat about the women who she credits as saving her life, her reflections on reality television and her approach to the haters. We always love having Vicky on the show - on every appearance she's shown us a more mature side to herself that was there all along, but for so many years she wasn't in charge of her own narrative. Well now she is and we're here for it. Part 2 will be out on Saturday as Weekend Wine Question Time - and make sure you come back for that - it's truly emotional as we talk motherhood. An absolute trailblazer through six decades in broadcasting Angela is a national treasure who's broken more than one glass ceiling. In this conversation you'll hear how she handled misogynistic setbacks with silent resilience and her trademark sharp wit, how simple acts like dancing around the kitchen can have an enormous impact, and letting your work speak for you. If you love this episode we have more from Angela on Saturday when she'll answer one of your questions. Cheers! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
