Who does God want in his family? For a lot of history, the answer to this question was the nation of Israel. And even as the early church was being born, it was an entirely Jewish movement. But today as we look at Acts 10, we will see how God was expanding His family to include those who the apostles would have never expected. And as we dig into what this passage is saying, its outcome and implications for today may surprise you.

We look at the message of the church, the gospel. What exactly is the gospel? Is there a pattern or formula we must memorize in order to be effective? Sure. What is more than having a specific pattern or formula is having the right substance of the gospel.

Today, we take an early look at Pentecost. And when we come to pentecost, we come face to face with the miracle of tongues. This can be a topic that introduces much confusion for some and even division for others. How do we really define tongues? Can we? We find this in the Purpose of Pentecost.

What are we to think of when we head “the Great Commission?” What are we being commissioned to and for what purpose? The Apostle Paul helps us when he says that we are “ambassadors” (2 Cor. 5:20). Commissioned and sent into hostile territory on behalf of our King, as his ambassadors.

Before we can be a useful vessel for God, we will be tested. Sometimes these tests can break us and leave us in pieces. However, this is where God does his greatest work: taking a broken vessel and restoring it for his use.
