Episode 4: Sexual Harassment in the Music Industry
Warning: this episode features mature themes and discussions of sexual assault. As this may be triggering for some, listeners’ discretion is advised. In Episode 4, I discuss the rampant sexual harassment that women experience in the music industry with radio consultant Heather Leigh. We discuss sexual assault cases made by women musicians such as Taylor Swift, Kesha and Lily Allen, as well as the industry's lagging efforts to make a change or hold the men in the industry accountable. Heather also shares her own experiences and sheds light on the disgusting "casting couch" practice in the industry.

Episode 1: Sexism in Radio
Episode 1 of the Women in Music podcast introduces the purpose of this series and features guest radio consultant Heather Leigh Stanley. We begin our conversation by discussing the sexism she's experienced in the business, such as being treated inferior by her male counterparts, being paid less than fellow men in radio and being stuck in the role of the "token female" in broadcasting. We also begin diving into double standards experienced by women musicians, starting with the infamous Super Bowl halftime show incident involving Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake.
