During his visit to the BYU–Hawaii campus, the Laie Hawaii Temple, and the Polynesian Cultural Center, President Uchtdorf had the opportunity to meet with and minister to people representing many different cultures.

The First Presidency announced new names for Young Women age groups on Monday, April 20, and young women around the world reacted quickly to the news.As those young women learn about and begin to embrace the new names of Builders of Faith, Messengers of Hope, and Gatherers of Light, the Young Women general presidency of the Church rejoices with them.In this episode of the Church News podcast, special guest host Sarah Jane Weaver, Church News executive editor, speaks with Young Women General President Emily Belle Freeman and her counselors, Sister Tamara W. Runia and Sister Andrea Muñoz Spannaus.Together, they discuss the doctrinal meaning behind each of the three names and the celebrations they hope will take place across the globe. They also explain the divine identity that these new names can help young women feel as they learn about Heavenly Father’s plan of salvation and Jesus Christ and His Atonement.

The light you carry from this campus is meant to shine in places only you can reach. It is not merely institutional progress or academic distinction—it is the light of Jesus Christ.

Ministering is truly loving and caring for others as the Savior would. It is a way of being; it is the way of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

The Lord declared, “Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me” (Isaiah 49:16).The phrase I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands has always strengthened my confidence in the Savior’s atoning sacrifice. It reminds me of His deep willingness and desire to help and heal me. The words thy walls are continually before me once caused me to focus more on the walls I build—doubt, fear, or sin—that prevent me from fully experiencing His love, rather than on the Savior Himself, who is full of love.When my daughter shared her love for this scripture, my perspective shifted. She finds peace, comfort, and strength in the idea that Christ builds a wall of safety for us. Through her insight, I came to better understand the power of covenants. As we make and keep them, we choose to live within His walls of safety, peace, and healing.Let us turn fully to Jesus Christ and come to know the joy and security of dwelling within His covenant walls.
