    Dacara at SOS, July 2025

DACARA are a Manchester-based alternative metal band that combines heavy riffs, electronic textures, and pop-metal, all heavily influenced by anime, videogames, and internet culture. Fronted by vocalist Emma Louise Shippen, the band is known for her soaring vocals, aggressive screams, and their bold, vibrant green visual aesthetic. They fuse pop-inflected Metalcore, modern J-Rock, and 2000s Alt-Rock.Formed in Manchester, they cut their teeth by reaching the finals of the city's Metal 2 The Masses competition in 2024. They went on to sell out their first headline show at The Deaf Institute (Manchester) in late 2024 and subsequently played to over 3,000 fans at Download Festival 2025.Their discography includes several singles, most notably DeGEN (released December 2025) which features a K-Pop-inspired music video and earned airplay on BBC Radio Manchester and Primordial Radio as well as The Wyrd Ways Rock Show. Sami Yli-Sirnio, Kreator, Bloodstock Open Air 2011

We're dipping into the Wyrd Ways Rock Show Archives with this interview from Bloodstock Open Air 2011. Recorded in the media area, this short conversation sees me having a chat with Kreator guitarist Sami Yli-Sirniö. A snapshot from a memorable weekend and a chance to revisit a member of one of The Teutonic Big Four. You'll also be able to see how much my interview skills have developed since then. If I'm honest, listening back to it was kind of painful! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
