Yankees On Deck

Weekly yankees coverage surrounding the regular season, postseason, and offseason related news and highlights.

  1. 64

Reviewing the Yankees offseason thus far

Hello everybody again! I’m back, talking about the Yankees offseason up to this point plus what they need to do wrapping up before Spring Training starts next month!

  2. 63

Yankees win the series against Texas!

I talk about this series win against the Rangers and the team’s recent pitching woes (bullpen and starters). Yankees offense has looked great though with big hits coming from Judge, Soto, Wells, Stanton etc. I also discuss the AL MVP race between Judge and Witt Jr and why Judge is the no doubt 2024 AL MVP!

  3. 62

    YANKEES SWEEP THE PHILLIES

The Yankees had an amazing series in Philadelphia, sweeping the best team in baseball, Philadelphia Phillies. They improve to 20 games over .500 for the first time in nearly two months, and the Yankees have won 5 games in a row! I talk about all this and the Yankees trade deadline acquisitions, along with GM Brian Cashman’s comments on the trade deadline as a whole.

  4. 61

The Yankees play like the Bronx Bombers tonight, score 14 runs in Phillies rout!

The Yankees offense goes absolutely insane tonight hitting 6 homeruns! (Judge hits two, Jazz hits two, Rice, and Volpe). Luis Gil was dominant going 5 strong innings, a couple of hiccups with his command but overall solid. The Yankees are able to take the first game of this three game set against a Phillies team that has the best record in baseball! Let’s keep it up tomorrow. Go Yankees!!!!

  5. 60

Yankees win the series at Fenway; and Jazz Chisholm Jr makes a good first impression!

The Yankees get a must need series win at Fenway against the Red Sox! Very solid 8-2 win in this one with new Yankee Jazz Chisholm Jr making a good first impression in his debut! Carlos Rodon was excellent going 6 strong innings with 7K! Yanks now head to Philly for three games and look to keep up the momentum!

  6. 59

The Subway Series Disaster, Yankees downfall continues

The Yankees get absolutely embarrassed by the Mets, swept all 4 games in this years Subway Series, the first time since 2013. The Yankees continue to play beyond embarrassing baseball. So many needs at the deadline but that won’t fix everything. Tough times in Yankee land need to turn it around somebody needs to be fired and held accountable.

  7. 58

Yankees throw out a punt lineup and to no surprise lose

Yankees were bound to lose the second they released the joke of the lineup they put out there batting Jahmai Jones leadoff and DJ Davis in the cleanup spot. It’s no surprise if you have no idea who those two players are cause they suck. 300+ million dollar payroll and this is what the Yankees are left with? Putting out minor leaguers cause they don’t wanna play the best hitters because the matchup doesn’t favor them. Are you kidding me?! Just unreal. Team needs a historic trade deadline and Boone or whoever decides these ridiculous lineups needs to be fired immediately!

  8. 57

    Yankees Split Series With Tampa

The Yankees had a very up and down series versus Tampa, where two of the games were a complete embarrassment and the other two were good. At the end of the day this Yankee team has a lot of needs to address moving forward at the deadline, and I discuss all of that in this latest series recap!

  9. 56

Episode 56: Yankees lose yet another series

Yankees are 0-7-1 in their last 8 series. Offense continues to do practically nothing. Nestor Cortes struggles pitching on the road continue. Onto Baltimore as this team continues to find new ways to hit even more rock bottom.

  10. 55

Episode 55: Yankees have hit a new low; losing 15 of last 20 games.

Luis Gil was amazing throwing 7 strong innings but the offense couldn’t back him up. Boone also decided it was a good idea to pitch to Rafael Devers who owns the Yankees when this lineup couldn’t hit. What a shit show. Off day tmrw then Tampa Bay All Star Break and trade deadline get here soon!

  11. 54

Episode 54: BEN RICE BECOMES THE FIRST YANKEES ROOKIE EVER TO HIT THREE HOME RUNS IN A GAME

The Yankees get a much needed 14-4 victory against the Red Sox thanks to rookie first baseman Ben Rice hitting not one, not two, but three home runs in this blowout victory! The Yankees came into this game losing 14 of their last 18 games, as Rice has provided much needed energy today to this team! Hopefully this lights a fire under this team! Need to win the series tomorrow. Let’s go Yankees!!

  12. 53

Episode 53: Yankees struggles continue, drop second game of series to Reds

This team has reached a low point. Boone and his idiotic decision making has only hurt this team more lately. Not playing the guys who have earned playing time makes no sense. Incredibly frustrating. Onto the next. Try not to get swept!

  13. 52

Episode 52: Yankees back to losing; drop first game at home vs Reds

The Yankees made a late comeback down 5-0 but couldn’t pull out the win. They lose this one 5-4. Luis Gil has his third bad start in a row allowing 4 runs. The Yankees 4-9 hitters outside of Ben Rice continue to be nonexistent. Not sure why the Yankees didn’t start Austin Wells today that was dumb. Lots of concerns with this team. Need to have a massive trade deadline if they’re going to have any chance at going to the World Series this year.

  14. 51

Episode 51: Yankees split the series in Toronto

This series had its highs and lows considering each game was a blowout where either the Yankees were getting blown out or they were doing that to the Blue Jays. Some key positives though is that Gerrit Cole had a huge bounce back start going 5 innings pitched giving up just one earned run and striking out six batters. On offense the Yankees had multi hit games from DJ, Torres, and Grisham which was nice to see. Aaron Judge continues to be insane with a multi hit game, hitting his 31st home run of the year, passing Bernie Williams as 7th all time on the Yankees all time home-runs list. Michael Tonkin was great out the pen and the Yankees are at least able to split the series against a bad Toronto team. Yankees have off tomorrow and then the Reds come into town.

  15. 50

Episode 50: The Subway Series Disaster

The Yankees get embarrassed in a two game sweep in the first Subway Series of the year. The struggles of late continue for the Yanks now losing 4 straight series in a row. Offense and pitching have been awful of late. I address the glaring holes on this Yankees team that need to be addressed at the deadline if we are going to have any shot at getting a title this year. Season is far from over but the Yankees have a lot of questions to answer in the coming weeks ahead. Onto Toronto for a 4 game series at the Rogers Centre.

  16. 49

Episode 49: Yankees lose another series to Baltimore

Just an awful series all around. So many opportunities to capitalize last night and today’s was just an absolute shit show pitching wise and on all sides of the ball. Atlanta comes into town tomorrow.

  17. 48

Episode 48: Yankees beat O’s but Judge is hurt

The Yankees beat the Orioles 4-2 but Aaron Judge was hit by a pitch in the hand in the 3rd inning and was later removed from the game. As of right now he has received x-ray and Ct scan and is waiting to meet with the team doctor at the hospital. I provide such updates in this episode but no clear answer on diagnosis as it has not yet been stated. Good win tonight but if Judge’s hand injury is serious as in broken then Yanks are in deep trouble. Let’s hope for the best and go Yankees!!!!

  18. 47

Episode 47: SOTO IS THE BEST PLAYER IVE EVER WATCHED

The Yankees come back down 5-3 in the 9th to complete the sweep against the Giants in San Francisco! Volpe hits an RBI triple and Soto hits a game leading 2 runs shot (his second hr of the game) to give the Yankees the lead! Truly unbelievable team right now I just hope this is the year. Still going to enjoy it either way let’s go Yankees!!!👏👏

  19. 46

    Episode 46: Anaheim Series Recap!

The Yankees win tonight 8-3 thanks to a solid Carlos Rodon start, a red hot Aaron Judge 2 run homer, and a red hot Juan Soto bases clearing triple! The team is now 4-2 so far out west and now head to San Francisco for three games to wrap up this nine game west coast trip! Let’s go Yankees!!!

  20. 45

Episode 45: Yankees win the series out in San Diego

The Yankees despite losing the other day still win the series 2 games out of 3 against the San Diego Padres at Petco Park in San Diego! I recap yesterday’s game/series as the whole as the Yankees have off today on Memorial Day. Yesterday’s game saw struggles from the bullpen, defense, and offense against Padres starting pitcher Joe Musgrove. The Yankees will now head to Anaheim to take on the Los Angeles Angels who are an even worse team having lost Trout and Ohtani.

  21. 44

Episode 44: YANKEES ARE ON A ROLL

The Yankees have won four in a row, taking the first two games out in San Diego against the Padres with a chance to sweep tomorrow! The pitching and offense have been darn near perfect these last several weeks! It’s been truly fun to watch on both sides of the ball. If you’re a Yankees fan, enjoy this! Lot of season left but can’t be any more pleased how this team currently looks. Let’s go Yankees!!!!

  22. 43

Episode 43: Yankees hit four home runs en route to a 7-4 win!

The Yankees snap their two game losing streak and get back in the win column tonight in the 3rd game of a 4 game series against Seattle. Soto led the offense with 2 home runs both to the opposite field (simply amazing) along with Judge and Verdugo contributing with a pair of home runs as well! Nestor Cortes was solid on the mound pitching 5 solid innings. The Yankees bullpen hit a little bit of a blunder in the 8th giving up 3 runs, but the Yankees offense is able to provide some insurance in the 8th to secure the victory! Yankees will try and get the series split tomorrow afternoon! Let’s go Yankees!!!!

  23. 42

Episode 42: Yankees drop second game in a row to Mariners; lose 6-3

The Yankees lose another frustrating one to the Mariners at Yankee Stadium. The Yankees offense was shut down versus Mariners starting pitcher Bryan Woo, with the Yankees only being able to muster up 3 runs in the 7th thanks to a Gleyber Torres 3 run homerun. Clarke Schmidt threw 5 decent innings giving up 2 runs but was simply out pitched by the Mariners starting pitcher Woo. Aaron Boone also continues to show that he can’t manage a bullpen/pitching staff as a whole in general. This series only gets tougher these next 2 games. Onto tomorrow!

  24. 41

Episode 41: Yankees lose 5-4; blow a 3 run lead to Mariners in the 9th

The Yankees lose a tough one tonight against the Mariners in part due to Clay Holmes being a bit erratic and just a lot of dumb luck timely hitting by the mariners in the 9th inning. Super frustrating and aggravating loss as the Yankees had a 3 run lead in the 9th and were two outs away from winning 8 games in a row. Onto tomorrow!

  25. 40

Episode 40: Yankees Sweep The White Sox

The Yankees continue to be on a roll winning 7 in a row and sweeping the worst team in baseball, Chicago White Sox. Both the offense and defense are on a roll these past few weeks and the Yankees are currently the best team in the American League. I recap this White Sox series and this Yankees team of late, along with the recent news surrounding Hal Steinbrenner’s desire to have mid season contract negotiation with Juan Soto. Lots to be excited about right now with this Yankees team! Let’s go Yankees!

  26. 39

Episode 39: Yankees beat Minnesota 5-1

The Yankees offense stays hot tonight in Minnesota against the Twins thanks to clutch hitting by Anthony Volpe and Alex Verdugo. Giancarlo Stanton also continues to impact the lineup as he hits a solo shot to help propel the Yankees to victory! Carlos Rodon got the start for us and was solid pitching 6 innings with 6 strikeouts, the only damage coming from a leadoff homerun in the 1st inning! Yankees take the 1st game of the series against a resurgent Twins team that is good.

  27. 38

Episode 38: Yankees Win The Series At The Trop!

The Yankees win 2 of 3 against Tampa Bay at Tropicana field, winning the finale 3rd game of this series 10-6. The Yankees nearly blew a 6 run lead in the 7th inning, but otherwise they are able to score 10 runs and win this series against an always difficult Rays team. Yankees have the day off tomorrow and will continue the road trip with a 3 game set in Minnesota beginning Tuesday. Let’s go Yankees!!!!

  28. 37

Episode 37: Yankees now 6-0 against Houston this year!

The Yankees continue to dominate the Astros this year, moving to 6-0 on the year so far against them. The offense continues to stay hot thanks to a Soto 2 run homer and Judge homerun and two run double that led the offense tonight! Carlos Rodon had a bounce back start going 6 solid innings with 7 strikeouts! Astros pitching is awful and you love to see it! Times have finally changed! Let’s go Yankees let’s sweep the Houston Asterisks tomorrow!🗑️🗑️🧹🧹🧹

  29. 36

Episode 36: Yankees sweep the Tigers

Yankees finish off a 3 game sweep vs Detroit at Yankee Stadium this past Sunday. It was a rainy game but the Yankees bats came alive as Judge hit a solo homer in the 1st, and then Juan Soto was able to get a huge 3-run double in the 7th inning to break a 2-2 tie. Nestor Cortes got the bullpen and was magnificent, going 6.2 innings pitched with 9 strikeouts! The bullpen was a little shaky today but near perfect. Overall solid bounce back series after the flop in Baltimore! Yankees off today with Houston coming into town tomorrow!🗑️ Let’s Go Yankees!!!!

  30. 35

Episode 35: Yankees win 5-3! Judge is ejected for the first time in his career

The Yankees offense awakens again today scoring 5 runs thanks in large part to an Anthony Rizzo 3-run homerun! Judge also had a much better day going 2-4 with an RBI double, and Stanton himself is starting to heat up with an RBI single in the first after being a big part of last nights rally win! Clarke Schmidt had a decent start and the Yankees bullpen continues to be lights out so far this year! Yankees win the series against Detroit and will go for the sweep tomorrow! Let’s go Yankees!

  31. 34

Episode 34: Yankees lose 3 of 4 In Baltimore

The Yankees offense continues to be inconsistent and struggle from start to finish in this 4 game series in Baltimore. Carlos Rodon struggled today giving up 6 earned runs. Aaron Boone again doesn’t know when to take a pitcher out, and the Yankees lose a series to a young Orioles team that is now back in 1st place.

  32. 33

Episode 33: Yankees drop second straight to Baltimore

Yankees have gotten off to a dissapointing start in this orioles series. The offense continues to hit into way too many double plays and the defense is making way too many mistakes. Baltimore has shown they’re the better team plain and simple. Just hoping we don’t get swept at this rate. This sucks.

  33. 32

Episode 32: YANKEES SCORE 15 RUNS AGAIN LOL

Yankees offense puts up 15 runs again, 30 runs in total the past 2 games. Judge is heating up with a homer. Volpe the birthday kid hit a 3 run homerun. Pitching struggled a bit, especially Stroman, but the offense was able to provide a big cushion to of run support. Yankees take the series against a very good 1st place Brewers team, and will now head to Baltimore for an even bigger challenge against the Orioles!

  34. 31

Episode 31: YANKEES SCORE 15 RUNS

The lineup tonight acted like the Bronx Bombers. The Yankees had four homeruns (Verdugo, Judge, Stanton) as they blowout the Brewers in the middle game of this 3 game series and win 15-3! Carlos Rodon got the ball and had his best outing thus far as a Yankee going 6 strong innings, just one earned run given on 2 hits and 8 strikeouts!

  35. 30

Episode 30: Yankees Lose In Extras Because Of Stupidity

This game proves Aaron Boone is a terrible manager. So many stupid mistakes such as pinch runner Jahmai Jones making a little league mistake on the bases and Boone not making fundamental baseball decisions when it mattered. Such mistakes all around cost this team the game in extras.

  36. 29

Episode 29: Yankees lose to Oakland; split series

Offense is again a disappointment. Yankees finish off an embarrassing series leaving a ton of runners on base against the worst pitcher in the league.

  37. 28

Episode 28: Yankees beat Oakland 7-3

Yankees offense finally picks it up tonight with three homeruns (Judge, Rizzo, Soto) Volpe has a couple of hits out of the leadoff spot, Clarke Schmidt threw 5 solid innings on the mound. Yankees pitchers stay hot as the Yankees win 2 in a row against the shitty Oakland A’s.

  38. 27

Episode 27: Yankees embarrass themselves, get shut out by Oakland 2-0

All around awful game. MLB umpiring is a joke. Carlos Rodon on the other hand was great with 7 shutout innings. Yankees lineup embarrassed themselves yet again by not hitting. Torres and Judge continue to struggle. Yankees get embarrassed and lose to a minor league equivalent team in the Oakland Athletics.

  39. 26

YANKEES WIN THE SERIES VS TAMPA

Luis Gil was excellent on the mound today for the Yankees. A couple little blunders from him with a balk, but overall aside from the bullpen the pitching for the most part was great! The offense also had a much better day after getting shut out! Alex Verdugo led the offense with 3 hits and 2 RBI’s.

  40. 25

Episode 25: Cortes Throws 7 Shutout Innings But Yankees Hitters Unable To Back Him Up

Nestor Cortes had the best outing from a Yankees starting pitcher so far this year, but the lineup is unable to back him up. The Yankees drop the second game of this series to Tampa Bay 2-0.

  41. 24

Episode 24: Yankees Beat Tampa 5-3 As Soto Continues To Amaze Us!!

The Yankees are led in large part (again) thanks to a Juan Soto 3- run homer, which led to a 5 run 7th inning and the Yankees 4th comeback victory thus far to begin the season!

  42. 23

Episode 23: Yankees Avoid The Sweep; Rally Back To Win 6-4 in Toronto!

Yankees offense was mostly quiet this game outside of Juan Soto, but rallied back in the 9th in large parts thanks to a home run by Stanton and hits by Torres, Verdugo, Trevino, and Judge! Let’s Go Yankees!

  43. 22

Episode 22: Yankees Defense Blows The Game, Unable to Sweep Cleveland

Yankees defense is the reason they lost today. Offense was great, especially Anthony Volpe with the clutch 9th inning hit! Defense was terrible all around. Cost us the game and a chance to sweep. Yankees still take the series and now head to Toronto for 3 games!

  44. 21

Episode 21: YANKEES SWEEP THE DOUBLE HEADER VS CLEVELAND

Yankees sweep the double header today versus Cleveland, winning the first game 3-2 and the second game 8-2. The starting pitchers for these games, Schmidt and Poteet were excellent, and the offense was led in large part by Soto and Cabrera home runs. The team as a whole continues to work a lot of counts and get on base via walks. Yankees go for the 3 game sweep tmrw with Cortes on the mound! Let’s go Yankees!!!

  45. 20

    Yankees Unable To Sweep Miami

Yankees were cold tonight. Marcus Stroman struggled and the bats outside of Stanton and Soto couldn’t get anything going.

  46. 19

Episode 19: YANKEES WIN FOUR IN A ROW! Beat Miami 3-2

Yankees continue their hot start to the season, taking the second game of this 3 game series against the Miami Marlins. The offense was led in large part by an Alex Verdugo solo homerun, Stanton RBI double, and Soto RBI single. Carlos Rodon was also fantastic tonight as well, arguably his best start thus far as a Yankee!

  47. 18

Episode 18: CORTES 8 SHUTOUT INNINGS AND SOTO HITS HIS FIRST YANKEE STADIUM HOMERUN; YANKEES WIN 7-0

Offense was great today thanks to 3 run home-runs from Volpe and Soto! Nestor Cortes was dealing 8 shutout innings against his hometown squad! Yankees stay red hot against the Marlins!

  48. 17

Episode 17: GIANCARLO HITS A GRAND SLAM AND THE YANKEES GET THE SERIES WIN AGAINST TORONTO

Yankees win the rubber match game in a 3 game series versus the Blue Jays 8-3! Stanton continues to heat up with a Grand Slam today! Luis Gil got the start and was electric aside from a bit of command issues. Bullpen was able to hold it down today and make the game much more relaxing!

  49. 16

Yankees Almost Blew A 7 Run Lead. Hold On To Win 9-8 Vs Toronto.

Yankees almost embarrassingly blew a 7 run lead tonight. Pitching was a shit show. Clarke Schmidt could not give the team length as a starter. Bullpen has been taxed and overused. Offense was great though and is the reason this team won tonight!

  50. 15

Episode 15: Yankees Drop The Home Opener Game To Toronto; Get Shut Out 3-0

Yankees offense was super flat today. Stroman pitched great but that was about it.
