    Miss Martina says goodbye

Dear Year 5, Miss Martina here. This podcast is my leaving gift for you. (0:07) I hope you will treasure it until you're old, your backs are crooked, (0:11) and you will listen to it with your own children and grandchildren, maybe.(0:16) Your class is a very special one, and I feel honoured for having the opportunity to be your (0:21) teacher. Maybe you don't know, but being a TA isn't always easy. We share most of our days (0:29) together with you, but the merit of your academic results is never ours.Sometimes us TA need to play the (0:36) part of the strict adult in the room, often looking bad at your eyes, but it's the hardest (0:42) part of teaching soft skills that are not included in any academic curriculum. (0:49) I've watched you all grow over the past two years, didactically, emotionally, and as a team. (0:56) To show you how much I care for you all, I have some words for each of you, in alphabetical order.(1:05) Sweet Clara, my detective story lover, you're so mature. Keep going like that. (1:13) Julian, I hope you will be a comic designer in the future. You have such a talent for drawing (1:21) and painting. Never give up. Dear Giovi, you're shy and sweet, but over the past two years, (1:29) you learned to make yourself heard and respected.Lorenzo, you've been always interested in the (1:38) lessons and eager to learn. You took your librarian job very seriously this year, (1:45) and you've learned a lot. Giulia, always sweet and funny. You make me laugh so hard. (1:54) Your jokes are so funny. Jonathan, you have great fantasy. You're not scared to show your emotions, (2:05) and you make such good stories. Never give up to be like that. (2:12) Alessio, we've had our days, haven't we? I truly appreciated the way you stand up for justice.(2:22) So please never, ever stop standing up for yourself and for what you think it's right. (2:31) Rebecca, you're so kind. You always have a smile and a positive attitude: sometimes, (2:38) you make me laugh even in the hardest days. So thank you so much. (2:44) Vincenzo, your growth managing your emotion is outstanding. Maybe you don't realise it yet, (2:51) but you can't understand how much improvement you've made in that and how much mature you are (2:57) since the beginning of this year. So continue like that and never give up. (3:02) Robi, you've always been very reserved, but I noticed your wit and your funny side. (3:12) Jago, you're also reserved. You're a great fan of football. I loved your figurine collections. (3:21) I must admit that sometimes I took some ideas from your figurine collection. (3:29) Chiara, you're very funny and giggly. I've noticed that you started eating better at lunch. (3:38) You started tasting a lot of different things, and that's a great change for you. So I'm very (3:45) proud of that.Gaia, such a talented musician. I've always known that your love for music (3:55) was great. And never give up playing because you're really, really talented. (4:03) Zoe, together with Alessio, you are the justice protector of the class. (4:09) You always stood up for yourself and for your rights and for the class's rights. (4:15) And I really, really appreciate it. You have a strong character, continue cultivating it.(4:24) Gabri, you're very sweet. You're funny, sometimes a little crazy and giggly as Chiara. (4:31) You should believe in yourself more because you are talented and you need to be more confident (4:39) because you are good.Millie, don't get discouraged. I know sometimes you had some difficulty, (4:47) but you are really talented for crafts and maybe it will be your fortune in the future. (4:56) So never give up on that too.Mari, you remind me of myself when I was your age. (5:02) You're so smart and funny and a good athlete as well. (5:07) Luca, the most talkative in the class, I must say. Never ever lose the sparkle. (5:15) You're very interested in the lessons and we can tell by your participation. Never stop being (5:25) curious.Tommy, so intelligent, sensitive, a very sweet boy. You're also very interested in (5:34) everything we do. Eloisa, you're a meagre reader. You became a librarian because of your (5:43) love for reading. You're very sweet and sensitive and smart. I'm gonna miss you.(5:51) Fede, you are super talented, such a storyteller and an actor. I think you should continue (5:59) acting like in an acting school of something because you really have a talent. (6:06) Giulia, you're such a good singer and actress as well. Continue cultivating it. (6:14) Sometimes you felt a little bit down during the year but you always were able to keep your smile (6:24) on.J, hi , sweet clever boy. Your stories are always super interesting. I remember, (6:34) especially last year, everything was an event for an anecdote, a story from you (6:44) and your family and I really loved it. I remember your stories starting with (6:49) my great-grandparents in the last century etc etc.Bea, sweet Bea. I am as clumsy as you are (7:01) but it's what makes you special and fun to be with so never be ashamed of it. It's your peculiarity, (7:10) your special trait. And to finish with Shari, you are clever, you are funny. We always joked a lot (7:19) in class but you also are a hugger, one of the few huggers in the class. (7:27) I loved your hugs.So Year 5, I'm sorry if I raised my voice sometimes, if I lost my patience (7:36) but I hope I have taught you more than ICT. How to be patient for example, how to be good friends, (7:43) how to be kind to one another. I'm sure your future will be brilliant (7:47) so go conquer the world.I love you all. Miss Martina.
