I'm a House Music DJ living and working in Tampa, Florida. But I have a nomadic vision of a disco giraffe with giant wings, a galactic being who spins nasty beats in an effort to bring more Big Love to the world. It came to me in a Eureka! moment because a wrote a memoir called "HAG" about my days as a "Fag Hag" in the clubs. A word we've discarded in favor of better nomenclatures like DIVA, GODDESS, and GALACTIC BEING. Join me in this safe space. Live in it for a while. Then go dance your ass off, Darrrrlinggggggg.....

frill.
It's a pretty word for pretty music. Enjoy. See you next week.

Moult.
Hope you enjoy it. It's got to be sexy. It's got to be funky. Those are the only keys to my gate, Darlin'. Layered Lyrics. That's what I do. The first time mentor DJ AlenP at The Beat Music Academy told me it was a bad idea it felt like a boot in my ass. It felt like Momma saying to me at nine you cannot be anything you want as an answer to my question. I'm dramatic, but I also notice moments like this. I spent every moment after that learning to layer lyrics. Learning to do the shit I was told was a bad idea. I use BeatSync, not exclusively but sometimes. Told that was bad as well. So many rules for something which feels so free. I guess they are only rules if you label them that. Consider this a re-introduction. The first dozen songs are HouseOfNae through and through...true blue spiral, blue heart, blue blood, platinum gold, HouseOfNae. In other words if you have a paper bag and a raffle ticket and 15 minutes (👀 @grahmradio 😄) this is what I would hand you on my USB. Which I know for a fact works because I had that apocalyptic episode as well this summer. Again dramatic but yeah, worst nightmare and it felt like a tower card. So many tower cards, so many words, so many lyrics to layer. I love it all and I hope you do too. Hang in there. It'll be OK it always is. Handle your shit love you miss you kiss kiss🌀💙💋💋🫡✌️😎

ELEVATION.
Something happened. Went through the wormhole at 4 minutes and change, then the saxophones starated dueling. There was a message and white lines but we let it roll right to the dirty cash. Enjoy. See you August 10th at District Lounge, St. Pete, Florida.

PRIDE IN THE HOUSE. STEEP STATION. 7-21-23.
It was so epic. Mix of my life. Thank you to all who were there in person, or who listened via FB Live online. Can't wait to do it again, hopefully in a month! See you August 10th at District Lounge, Saint Petersburg, Florida.

BOUGAINVILLEA.
It's a tough old flowering vine. Bright colors. You neglect it, and it just grows back stronger. Thank you Santos Lounge, Afrobeats is my new very favorite thing **Wasn't happy, so I reworked, restarted, revamped. You do that in life sometimes and it's okay. Enjoy

Poise.
On the verge. On the brink. Not poised. Not poison. Not posed. Poise. Stay tuned.

SALTED IN THE SHELL.
You think what you want. I know what it means. So much swing, so many layers for a post-pandemic, pre-apocolyptic June. Maybe hug a tree and dance it out for the world. We need it. Performed at District Lounge 6/1/23, HAPPY FUCKING PRIDE 2023!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WHITE CRANE ROBE.
Made on the fly...some of it worked, some of it didn't, but none of it terrible. Some of it was even MAGIC...just not that ending ;D #CallAndResponse #LayerThoseLyrics

CERISE
The color of my favorite farmhouse roof. But this doesn't sound anything at all like that, darling. What? You can't hear Cerise? Pity. Here's a kiss to make it all better. It'll get better before you get married, my daddy used to say that. Handle ur sh*t.

Blythe Eyeglass.
This fabric turned out quite nice. Something old, new, borrowed, and BLEWWWWWWWW! WHOOSH! Go handle your sh*t. After you listen of course.

Chiffon Scarf.
My 3rd mix for the month of April 2023. Ol' TS called April the cruelest month, but I think life is "BRUTIFUL" beautiful and brutal. So this mix reflects that. Thank you Tampa/St. Pete for the inspiration. See you at the bucket thing Sunday, Mr. Creosote!

TARTAN
My SECOND mix for the month of April 2023. Ol' TS called April the cruelest month, but I think life is "BRUTIFUL" beautiful and brutal. So this mix reflects that. It also reflects a new chapter and new direction. Twelve mixes a year, three hours each.
Homburg Hidalgo.
SPRING COLLECTION APRIL 2023. Let's start with a good hat. Why don't you Diana Vreeland? Ol' TS called April the cruelest month, but I think life is "BRUTIFUL" beautiful and brutal and this mix reflects that. Something a little sexy, more flirty than dirty. With a liberal sprinkling of metal filings darling because Mama loves a gritty layer to chew on. This is me. I love churchy gospel, but I love something more too. Of all the mixes I've done HH is the one most me. Which if you know HouseOfNae at all, means a great deal. Pretty damn proud of it in other words so I hope you'll give it a listen. You might even hear a few familiar beats ;) Homburg Hidalgo also marks a new chapter and new direction. Three hours of music a month, 88 songs approximately, that I will mix, spin, layer, rotate, match, rotate and blend into a different sauce every week. 88 songs to do the same to you. Sure hope I get to spin these hours somewhere live soon. Maybe I'll go camping ;)

OSCARS GREEN CORSAGE. FULL LIVE SET. 3-17-23
To say I'm grateful is an understatement. Thank you for an incredible night at Steep Station Don Solo and the entire High Vibe Tribe 727! Hot House Ecstatic Dance Forever! Thank you for celebrating "Oscar Day" with this Cosmic Disco Giraffe :)
Gold Filament.
It's jubilant in Ishtar's temple of gold, beautiful church gospel every color of the rainbow. Until life happens. Again. Surrender the Trigger! The mix must SLOW DOWN. You might be making a "big mistake". But then. You learn to "...Breathe.Love.Breathe."

STACKED HEELS.
Quick, tight thirty. Mixture of old and new, borrowed and blue. Woven and layered and thick, sometimes scrapey, sometimes scratchy, sometimes like chocolate silk pie. Yeah your Dream Weaver mixes her metaphors too when she’s making fabric. Enjoy my giraffes.

GROMMET. STEEP STATION 2-17-23.
Sounds even better than it did in my ears LIVE. We begin church-ey get a little scrape-ey then glide up into the air right at sunset. Ever seen that street in NYC where this happens once a year? Yeah, High Vibe Friday felt a lot like that. Thx Don Solo :)

Abalone Cuff Buttons.
Sartorialist. A favorite word. Tried to sell Bonobos at Nordstrom. They wouldn't have me. Now I'm glad bc my calling is elsewhere. On the dancefloor. Adjusting beats instead of the shirtcuffs of my boys. They said I was the only one who ever did it right.

Waistcoat.
I love a good waistcoat, darling. Brocaded. Elaborate. It makes me think of Dandies. Mercenaries wielding swords in floppy hats. It makes me think of PIRATES. Thank you One of Us Events! Playing B2B with Valentina Schwartz & La Catira was incredibleeeee.

Stomping Boots.
Stomping boots. Everybody should have a pair and that’s the thing about stomping boots. They can take many forms. The ring you slam on your finger as you walk out the door. The coat that makes you feel like an Empress when you enter a room. Those stomping boots making noise as you throw yourself across the room in such a way it looks like you’re gliding. That’s the kind of attitude we need these days. An ease and purpose. I hope this mix brings you that. ps. A couple missteps but there's always that. This is the moment I actually have something to say, because I finally learned my letters. I finally learned to walk. To stomp.

Fake Fur Coat.
A lot like that. Fabulous. Makes a statement. Messy halfway down the back in that one place because you whispered to a darling someone and they pitched their drink sloppy. Still it's your favorite coat. You wear it with your stomping boots. Like life.

COSMIC GIRAFFE.
With 111% Nae-Nae. Mixing feels like fabric making, something I also do. Cosmic Giraffe fabric is wholly me, w/crazy patterns which somehow fit. Frayed edges when Mama forgets but mostly seamless. Glitch, some church, lots of comets. Allow them darling.

Tangerine Banana Pomegranate. Steep Station. St Petersburg, FL 12-23-22
My first paid gig. So yeah, this one I'm gonna remember when I'm old and gray and rocking in the chair with a Cheshire Cat smile. Thinking how I did some shit. Yep. I sure fucking did. Enjoy. Merry Christmas. Remember to allow. Show up for your life.

Malibu Skipper.
Don't let the title fool you. Deep dark metal tech house played in a dim club at a late hour. The time when you feel like you're the only one hearing that particular sound under that other sound. That's my space. That's me. That's Malibu Skipperland.

Disco Giraffe.
Debutante Walking. Debutante Werquing. Debutante Manifesting. This mix is my debut, Sunday, December 11, 2022, Saigon Blonde. 9pm. The first rest stop on a long journey. Thank you. To everyone who liked, encouraged, scolded, loved or gave me a LET'S GO!

SSTTATTIICC.
Won't start none, won't be none. By the end you'll be stomping. House which starts hard and fast, and stays there. House which feels like a rock to the face. Because Momma werquing Xmas retail God bless. Sometimes you need a house built of ROCKS.

WERQUING.
Stomping. By the end you'll be marching. House which starts loud, hard, fast, and stays there. House which feels like a rock to the face except for the moments when it feels like warm, sunny, crisp linen sheets. Just like life. Exactly like life.

DIG. SCRATCH. CLAW.
Hard and fast. Because last week sucked and I don't want to carry it with me. Tech House with a fudge ripple layer of Love Unlimited Orchestra vibes if it was mixed with bones of titanium and whirled around a garage like an industrial tornado. Because you're worth it darling, you really are. Walk on. Let it go. Make it WERQ!

Swollen Bent Wattage.
Flow. Buttery glittery and soft. With a bit of Finland at the end for a nice peppermint patty chill. Because it's good to have a bit of conflict in your art. Especially if makes you tingle and giggle. Wear a hat today. Why don't you? Why not?

Sparkle. Flow. Flash.
Started oiled bronze with a bit of grey steel then went all Strawberry Bubbalicious on the thing. Sparkly, glittery, like diamonds on the water. Aperol spritz and frozen limoncello. Ending with a shot of Jager. Enjoy my darlings. Toast this BRUTIFUL life.* *Sure there's a bit of finger painting at the beginning, here and there. It's a process like anything else. But the curation? Yeah. Feels solid.

Water Dancer.
Arya, darling. Syrio Forel in ballet shoes. Diamonds skip-dancing on my clear blue waters. I've heard it all before. But now it feels different. I see your glitter. I honor it. I bow to it in prayer. To all the boys who showed me how and why to find it...

Tawny Shimmer.
Bain de Soleil darling. Hawaiian Tropic. Panama Jack with Dark Rum gimme some. It's a beach party on the sand at TRAX. Or we're on the back patio w/cactus juice at The Pyramid #RVA dreaming of TRAX. Dreaming big fat nasty beats you can bite into. Bubblelicious, a burst of flavor with every beat. Booty-shakin, earthquakin’ church rafters raisin’ organ pounding, dancing in the aisles and on the ISLE. Revelation. Sexy stuff.

HON Podcast Future Plans. It Involves DJ Luis Martinez. And Pizza...
Just a quickie...bc I'm tired of hearing myself talk. Pivoting is necessary. Welcome House of Nae DJ Salon! Not hair silly, shop talk. With pizza. DJ Luis Martinez is the first guest. Did you know he used to be a chef? Here are the details. Keep shaking.

glitxch.
Get ready. TECH HOUSE. Mama took a 180 degree spin and then did it again and liked it so much she did it again and again and again...

Fielden's Basement #RVA
Second Mix. Fielden's, where I spun around many a night, DJ George Bricero at my side. Trying to find out who I was within the beats & mirrors. Mixture of old and new on a more chill, vibe. Like a lazy pool party. Or an after-hours basement.

House of NAE Launches TODAYYY! Thank You Everyone. Feels Good.
Soft launch begins. Like any good restaurant, I have an opening for friends and followers only. Welcome to your exclusive! Plus, a small segment on cheerleading for others. The gold and the tarnish. House of NAE begins her orbit today 8/22/22. Big Love.

Engagement. To Engage. Everything That Means. How It Can Be Silent. Or Very Very Loud. Too Loud To Be Ignored.
Whether you're Picard or Patricia at the club, it's important to engage. W/your surroundings, your feelings, your body. Your DJ when she's playing THAT song :D :D :D Srsly tho, ENGAGEMENT is the 3-2-1 contact of everything. Which I learned the hard way.

Push Through To The Other Side. From Pain To Joy. On The Dancefloor. And In Life.
Push through. Because sometimes when you do, magic happens. Here's one story, one example but there are millions. Show up for your life. Face the music. Push through to the other side of your pain. Because joy lives there.

1986. 2AM. #RVA Scandal's. Version 1A
Surprise! Momma got a wild hair and did her first mix. Expect more. Two per month. Starting today. Because once upon a time I wrote a book. Which became a podcast. Which became a life's purpose. Here's the first chapter to the next volume. A better version with fewer slipups. Life always gives you a redo. Plus I hear home in that bass. www.houseofnae.com This one's for DJ George. Kiss kiss.

DJ's Are An Interior Designer Of A Different Sort. Tampa's DJ's Are Some Of The Finest. Here's Why.
Just like Marie Kondo can rearrange your house, a good DJ can create a castle for your mind. If you allow. This is a collaboration and the stories they tell are some of the best narratives ever. Erik Horton, Russ Urban, Luis Martinez, and Alen P are just a few.

Here Is My Pivot Point. Because I Just Posted My First Mix on Soundcloud. Plus, Requiem For A Dream...
...not THAT movie. Because that sh*t is nasty. I'm talking about the dream of a life-long marriage. Eight of my friends are divorcing. Let's take a moment to remember all the love we lost during the pandemic. Before we pivot to a new purpose. HOUSE MUSIC.

House Music Saved My Life. A Full Length Mirror Cured My Loneliness. Here's Why.
This isn't some white lady BS or an SNL sketch from the 80's. This is real emotional medicine. I was taught looking into a mirror was sinful. Vanity. Best avoided. But how else do you get to know yourself? Plus HOUSE MUSIC IN TAMPA IS EVERYTHING BABYYYYY!

July 4th Canceled. Because Half The Population Are Second Class Citizens. Plus Delayed Adolescence And Podcast Plans.
Light a sparkler for us. Protest in whatever way you can. March with a sign, share info, make art. I plan on making people safe with BIG NASTY BEATS. I'm a House Music DJ. Here are my plans. Also, the LGBT concept of "Delayed Adolescence" Please join me

Roe V. Wade. Yeah SCOTUS F*cked Up. My Thoughts. Because This Is Old Business.
I might be many things and wear many labels, but second class citizen is not one of them. If you agree with the Supreme Court's decision? Unfollow me know. Because as a famous meme just said, I've had better Supremes eating a Crunch Wrap at Taco Bell.

Judgement. Women Tearing Each Other Down When We All Know A Rising Tide Raises All Boats.
I hate it when women cut their eyes at you, say tsk tsk. I do it too all the tie. Why? I have thoughts. On that as well as the epidemic of gun violence. What I'm doing about it. Starts out a little scattered, but stick with it for a HHUUGGEE announcement!

Baby Learns To Pivot When She Finds Obstacles In Her Way. Sort Of. Instead of Running Away. Sort Of.
Thank you Matt Mac! Yes, his book Greenlights remains in my rearview mirror. Pivoting, making another choice instead of running to hide within your favorite emotional blanket when the going gets tough. Which it certainly did this week. No worries. Pivot.

You Have Nothing To Prove. No One Is Behind You With A Clipboard Checking Off Your Failures. So Stop Doing Donuts In The Parking Lot.
I'm back. Did you miss me? For three weeks I've been coughing like a barking dog flat on my back. Found my life's purpose and the Tower Card fell so hard it almost derailed me. Almost. That's the thing about finding your purpose. It becomes your fuel.

House of NAE. DJ. Club Church. This Is My Manifesto. 6-12-22. Pulse Orlando. Never Forget.
After 50 years of looking, I found my purpose. To make asses shake and souls quake. To make nasty beats which make you levitate. I'm a DJ in the House of NAE. This is my manifesto. Remember to allow, my friends. Because sometimes when you do, you have a EUREKA! which was meant to be. PULSE NIGHTCLUB. Speak their names. Never forget. This purpose is for them. This purpose is Soul Revival. This purpose is Club Church.

Low And Slow. A Conversation About Mercury Retrograde, Retreat, and Crockpots. In May. In Florida. You Do The Math.
Mercury Retrograde. Some folks cringe but I've learned to plan around it. This white lady ain't bragging Gurl, please, I had to fall down a lot to figure this out. Now I rest. Think. Brainstorm. Plan. Adjust, which is my BFF's word for housecleaning. Make it werq for you. Because you have VALUE. The topic of my next podcast. Stay tuned.

Know Your Value. Someone Said This And It Floored Me. Here's Why.
Do you know your value? A good friend said this to me early on in my divorce proceedings and I FELL OUT. Now I discover my value each moment of each day. In fact, I'm ready to discard the concept entirely. I was born perfect. So were you. Here's why :)

A Conversation About ADD/ADHD. With A Lot Of ADHD To Go With It ;) Because I'm Newly Diagnosed.
Which explains a lot. Had no idea of my own ADD/ADHD until last year when my soul finally found enough space to NOTICE. Before I was just trying to survive, make enough money to eat. Now? Maybe I can survive BETTER. Maybe my discovery can help you too ;)

Voice & Choice. Roe v. Wade. Are We Really Arguing This Again? It's Pretty Simple. But By All Means Let's Get BACK ON This Merry-Go-Round. God Bless.
I first marched for Roe v. Wade in 1985 when I was eighteen. I marched with my sister, my Gusband, my BFF, my righteousness, and my anger. Nuns cursed us, priests pointed fingers. And here we are again. Again and again and again UNTIL WE GET IT RIGHTTT!!!

Narcissism. It's A Bad Word, Amber Heard. But Love The Johnny Depp In Your Life. Maybe Don't LIVE With Them? But Love Them. Here's Why.
Both my parents were narcissists. What did it do to my sense of self? There was a reason I apologized for taking up space in the room. For decades. Here's the thing. Some narcissists are born, but some are born from necessity. All should be understood :)

Labels. Hag. Tomboy. Broad. What are they? Where do they come from? Why do we need them? How do they relate to outer space, Carl Sagan? Plus, Stephen King's Hearts In Atlantis As A Manual For Life.
It's a dizzying talk full of metaphors and nostalgia on Hag The Pod. Why is Stephen King's Hearts in Atlantis my favorite book? Why do I want to meet Janet the Planet? Who is she anyway? What does it mean to live your life "BROADLY"? Find out on this EP.

Manhandling. #MeToo But For Dudes. Ladies, If You're Doing This, You're Part Of The Problem. I'm P*ssed And Here's Why.
Met a great handyman who told me a story which made me laugh...until it made me angry. Ladies, YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO DRAG A GUY INTO A BATHROOM STALL AND MANHANDLE HIM! Sure, he likes it. It's also assault. A PTSD bomb he'll carry around. TRUST ME.

HAIR! Hair As Power. Hair As Focus. How That Gave Me Some EUREKA! Plus, Amy Schumer is Coming And I Will Hand Her My Series Treatment. There. Manifesting It In The Title!
Yep, I'm meeting her, TRUST. It's follicles and focus with a long diatribe on men who try and tell me how I should wear my long luscious locks. Others who try to touch it when they shouldn't. Just call me Delilah, honey. Because I'm running with scissors.

Audiobook News and a Happy New Year?
The planets are a little manic, crazy, and dramatic here at the beginning of 2022 and boy, so am I. It’s okay, we’ll work through it. In this episode I talk about the triumphs and tribulations around starting a new job during a pandemic on Blue Monday and discuss in-depth how I’m going to present the audiobook. Once it’s done. Be patient. Because I want it to be even better than Matthew McConaughey’s, Greenlights, and have you HEARD that book yet? Genius. Yeah, setting the bar high for myself and why not? All right, all right, all right. A grab-bag of topics in this episode. Something for the crazy in all of us during this Mercury, Venus, Aquarius clusterfuck. Hang tight, friends.

Peak Florida Man Bumble in the HOUSE! I mean, it's like. Wow. In this episode I wax poetic on guys who pose with Billy Bass and Steve-O as well as offer up thoughts on keeping it calm and very real this holiday season. What's your distraction of choice?

Cat Calls and The Clapper from Charlottesville. Plus, Thoughts On Momma Being First Runner-Up in a Hot Pants Competition.
Am I The Clapper of Tampa? Maybe. Why I sing at the top of my lungs during my morning walk. Why it's something much more to my soul even though I look like a psychopath to most people. Which is probably okay here at the supposed end of the world, right?

Spiritual Reset Buttons of All Kinds. Dialing Back Your Feminine? Plus, Why I Hate The Voice and That's Quite the Shiny Nose You Have, Rudolph.
In this episode, I talk about how I calm down when things get to where you can't even button your shirt right. I stare at waves. Pattern and repetition are a good thing. Patterns have meaning. Plus, The Voice sucks rocks and Jershika is a GODDESS!!

Self-Direction, Eyebrows, and "Hello, My Name is..." Nametags.
I lived my life fully-directed and full of rules for the front half, now I'm pointing my own way and following the rules I set myself. Parenting my own body and mind. Looking for work while fighting the limitations of labels, and battling enormously dark and black Groucho Marx eyebrows for my first serious job interview since the divorce. Just life in a pandemic and the first scene in my screenplay. I'm thinking Bridesmaids meets Lars Von Trier's Melancholia. What do you think?

Pandemic Agoraphobia and $10 Booty Leggings. Plus, What's a HAG Anyway?
Are you experiencing agoraphobia because of the pandemic? I am. How do you handle it? I talk about that as well as the amazing transformation which occurred to my ass when I bought a $10 pair of leggings. Maybe the only time a TV product kept its promise.

Using Your Voice and Being Able to Admit You're Only Performing. Because of Alcohol.
The importance of purposefully taking a rest. Or why I desperately needed a vacation during a pandemic. All the meanings of HAG inside and outside of the memoir I just published. I also wax poetic about how alcohol needed to go away for good.

Processing Grief, Using Your Words, and Why I Hate Bumble.
My little memoir helped someone process out some grief. Which makes me very happy. Where does grief occur in your body? Feel it, release it, walk away from it. Just some thoughts on the road. Yes, there is road noise. Because life has noise. So what?

Chasing Nostalgia and Getting Catfished in Key West on World AIDS Day.
HAG. A podcast for women who find themselves newly-divorced here at the end of the world. In this episode I talk about all the strange things I saw in Key West on the first vacation I've had in five years. Where I got catfished. Which made me podcast.

Welcome to HAG. The Podcast which goes with The Memoir.
HAG. A podcast for women who find themselves newly-divorced here at the end of the world. A strange, Covid-filled, scary place full of magic, wonder, and weird-ass Bumble profiles. Come on in and take a minute. Talk it out, laugh it loud, cry it off. There's plenty of room. As that little lady in Poltergeist used to say, “All are welcome.”
