008 : Stepping Into Your Authentic Self with Britany Maxwell

from BE THAT 1% Podcast · host James & Amanda Silvas, Lifestyle Entrepreneurs, Speaker, and Performance Coach

Britany Maxwell is an Entrepreneur, Photographer and Founder of The Light & The Love Photography. We talk about the journey of discovering your passion, how to take that leap of faith for what you really want, and the truths about supporting your vision. We also discuss the power of investing in yourself and your business, and that if you want to thrive and go far in your business you need to get serious about investing in yourself to grow to new heights and learn new things. We dive into the tricky parts of being an early entrepreneur on determining your own worth, how we undervalue our capabilities in the beginning, and how your price and what you say yes to, ultimate determines the quality of your clients. In three short years, she’s build up her side hustle to become her full time job 100% supporting her financially. She’s really started to tap into her own voice through her expression of photography and building her brand around her authentic self. She primarily focuses on weddings and engagements, and clients book her from all over the US to photograph their weddings. So when do you start to say no? And how do you begin to recognize your own value and be okay with saying no to things that don’t align. I love when Britany says this in the interview. “You can’t be everything all at once to everyone. You have to find your style and those clients that resonate with you.” You guys we dive into some really deep topics here, so if you like this episode and hits home, leave us a review on itunes and let us know! Key Takeaways: - Have plans and goals, but don’t be afraid to completely change them and start over. - Make your life one you love, not just tolerate. - You have the power to create your perfect dream. - If you are unhappy in your circumstances, change them! - Life is too short to follow a path void of passion. - Live life for you, not for anyone else’s expectations. Quotes That Britany Mentions: > Kim McMillan: “When I loved myself enough, I began leaving whatever wasn’t healthy. This meant people, jobs, my own beliefs and habits, anything that kept me small. My judgment called it disloyal, now I see it as self-loving.” > F Scott Fitzgerald: “For what it’s worth … it’s never too late, or in my case too early, to be whoever you want to be. There’s no time limit. Start whenever you want. You can change or stay the same. There are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you never felt before. I hope you meet people who have a different point of view. I hope you live a life you’re proud of, and if you’re not, I hope you have the courage to start all over again.” For full show notes, timestamps & quotes mentioned visit bethatonepercent.com/008 Free 3 Part Video Training: bethatonepercent.com/join To join our FREE online community visit facebook.com/groups/Bethatonepercentcommunity/ To Connect with Britany Maxwell IG: @thelightandthelove https://www.instagram.com/thelightandthelove/ FB: www.facebook.com/thelightandthelove Website: www.thelightandthelove.com Bookings Email: [email protected] To Connect with Us IG: @BeThatOnePercent instagram.com/bethatonepercent FB: facebook.com/bethatonepercentshop/ Twitter: @BeThatOne twitter.com/bethatone We’re still building our social media on those outlets so if you’d like to connect with us individually you can do that too! The move towards more renewables in our energy systems complicates matters even further, requiring the development of an integrated power grid and continuous and steady transformation of the UK power system. Network flows must be managed reliably under uncertain demands, uncertain supply, emerging network technologies and possible failures and, further, prices in related markets can be highly volatile. Mathematicians working with engineers and economists, can make significant contributions to address such issues, by helping to develop fit-for-purpose models for next generation energy systems. These interdisciplinary approaches are looking to address a range of associated problems, including modelling, prediction, simulation, control, market and mechanism design and optimisation.
