008 - The Calgary Hitmen 25th Season // D.I.T.R.O // Local Laundry Collaboration

from Proudly Made in Canada Podcast by Local Laundry · host Local Laundry

The 2019/2020 season is the 25th Anniversary for the Calgary Hitmen. Founded in 1994 and inspired by the famous local Calgarian, Brett "The Hitman" Hart, the Calgary Hitmen have been at the core of the YYC community for decades. To celebrate their 25th Season, they teamed up with Enmax to create The Hitmen Pledge as a way of giving back to the community. Their goal is to generate 25,000 hours of service towards Calgary and the surrounding area during their 25th season. We wanted to highlight this commitment to the community and the incredible milestone of their Silver Anniversary so we did what we do best, collaborated! Check out this latest episode recorded inside the Saddledome where we talk to Sam Mendonza from D.I.T.R.O, Jamie Cochrane from the Calgary Flames and Rob Kerr from the Calgary Hitmen who made this happen and we discuss how this whole idea came to life.  Check out the Canadian made sweater here! 25 from each sweater will be donated to the Calgary Hitmen Foundation, with a goal to raise over $2,500! The Calgary Hitmen Foundation is the charitable arm of the WHL's Calgary Hitmen. The heart of the Calgary Hitmen Foundation is the scholarship program that provides post-secondary education for Hitmen players along with the support of grassroots sports. The Foundation also supports Camp Kindle through the Kids Cancer Care Foundation. Read more about the story behind this collab here!
