I think all parents have some doubts. The homesteading life is great but there are some downsides and sacrifices that had to be made in order to live the way we did. Now that I'm older and wiser and all of the children are adults I can see clearly the benefits of raising children in the homestead life. There were plenty of downsides to the lifestyle but the benefits far out weight them.
