Click the post for details on this episode! I have been really excited for this episode. Today Open House features two of the best that L.A. has to offer - both are incredibly talented and gracious DJ's, and both are definitely leaving their stamps on the world. These guys both have had tracks on some of the world's best labels, and both have played on some of the world's best sound systems. With releases that can be found on some of the world's top record labels, including Perfecto and Baroque Records, Darin's productions have received huge support from Hernan Cattaneo, Sasha, John Digweed, Paul Oakenfold, Sander Van Doorn, Andy Moor, Matt Darey, Nick Warren, Jody Wisternoff, 16 Bit Lolitas, James Grant, Solarstone, Jaytech, D:Fuse, Sandra Collins, Miss Nine, Flash Brothers, DJ Tarkan, and countless others. His music has been licensed to MTV and appears in the films Ecstasy and Slip Cue. And Darin has worked with high profile artists such as Matthew Dekay, Dresden & Johnston, D:Fuse, Kenneth Thomas, Chris Fortier, Noel Sanger, and Burufunk. It should also be mentioned that Darin's remix for Paul Oakenfold's Perfecto label earned him a spot at #25 on the Beatport Top 100 Progressive sales chart and was later featured on Oakenfold’s compilation Perfecto Vegas on iTunes. He has headlined events on different corners of the globe, including Russia, Bulgaria, Mexico, The Netherlands, and Costa Ric. Within the United States, he has been invited to some of the nation's top nightclubs and events, including Vision Nightclub (Chicago), Congress Theater (Chicago), Spybar (Chicago), Avalon (Los Angeles), Vanguard (Los Angeles), Playhouse (Los Angeles), Circus (Los Angeles), 1015 Folsom (San Francisco), Trinity Nightclub (Seattle), Ultrabar (Washington DC), Anatomy Nightclub (Cleveland), and the Ultra Music Festival at Miami Winter Music Conference. Darin Epsilon's mixes inspired me to DJ years ago, so having him on the program is a great honor. "There are no rules. We make them as we go" says Torin when asked what he thinks about the current state of dance music. Torin is widely known for his "Torin Schmitt" moniker where he has produced tracks that appear on massive compilations like Markus Schulz' Las Vegas '10 on Armada and Paul Oakenfold's Perfecto Vegas on Perfecto/Thrive Records. In addition to his progressive house and trance moniker, "Torin" also produces a slew of tech-house and techno for labels like Jondi & Spesh's LOÖQ (San Francisco), Perfecto Black (Los Angeles), Motif (Belgium), System Recordings (New York), Nightshade Music (Chicago) and Lowbit (England). Torin is well known for energetic and infectiously dance floor friendly performances using a variety of modern and traditional tools. Torin is a major supporter of Native Instruments products including Traktor and has been known to play continuous sets of 3 and 4 deck tech-house at places like Los Angeles' uber clubs Avalon and Vanguard.
