056 – Blood Circus: Geoff Robinson (2/2)

from Music Life Radio · host MLR - DGSAUTER

Geoff Robinson is best known as the lead guitar player for the epic Seattle grunge band Blood Circus.  They were one of the first bands on Seattle’s Sub Pop record label, playing with bands such as TAD, Nirvana, and Soundgarden back in the late 80’s.  In part two of the interview, Geoff talks about their first and only American tour, and how they broke up at the end of it.  Why they later reformed for the movie Hype!, and how they continued to play rock music under the names of Pine Monkey and Cowboy Inhaler long after the Seattle scene broke apart. We also get a glimpse into what the former members are doing now. Blood Circus is Michael Anderson – guitar and vocals, Doug Day – drums, Tracy Simmons (T-Man) – bass, and Geoff Robinson– guitar. Blood Circus set the example for Seattle grunge.  No other band in history should get more credit for the title, and in 1994 when their album Primal Rock Therapy was re-released on CD, the rock critics at Rolling Stone gave it a higher rating than Incesticide by Nirvana, 4 out of 5 stars, finally giving the band its due!     Credits: “MLR Intro” by “Rob McCann“, “”Psycho Jam” by “Cowboy Inhaler”,  “The Outback” by “Blood Circus“, “Part of the Crowd” by “Blood Circus“, “My Mountain” by “Cowboy Inhaler”, “Again” by “Cowboy Inhaler”The post 056 – Blood Circus: Geoff Robinson (2/2) first appeared on Music Life Radio.
