117: How to Install Shower Niches

How should you install a recessed shower niche?   Steve White from SRW Contracting gives you great tips.   Here’s the breakdown   1. Don’t add a recessed niche on an exterior wall because you can’t insulate behind it   2. Buy a pre-made shower niche from Schluter, Wedi, or Laticrete   3. If you build a shower niche Steve recommends doing it with Wedi building panels   4. When designing a shower niche you can frame it with pencil trim, bullnose edging, and metal edging   5.
