#18 Britt Gosse-Jesus - Pelvic floor PT shares her story with endo and finding care in the midwest

from iCareBetter: Endometriosis Unplugged · host Jandra Mueller DPT, MS

Britt is many things, she really is a super-person actually. She is a pelvic floor PT, mom, wife, teacher, friend, colleague, mentor... just to name a few. She is the co-creator of our course which is aimed at educating other healthcare providers in the management of endometriosis. Today, she shares her journey with us, and it is quite the wild divine story. Finding providers in the mid-west is no joke, and we are lucky to have her helping those in need. ************************************************************************** Britt received her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from Clarke University in 2016. Following receipt of her DPT, Britt entered into the pelvic health world and didn't turn back. Britt is a Board Certified Women's Health Clinical Specialist through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialists. Britt is also certified in Dry Needling, Manual Lymphatic Drainage, and a S.T.R.I.D.E Compression Specialist. Britt practices in the Midwest in an outpatient orthopedic setting. Her clinical practice is predominantly in pelvic health across the spectrum of age, gender, and diagnosis, with a niche in female pelvic pain. Britt's caseload also includes some oncology-related rehabilitation, such as lymphedema, and some general orthopedic diagnoses. Britt is involved in teaching continuing education courses, nationally, in content areas related to pelvic health for other physical therapists. She is a co-author, with Jandra Mueller, of the continuing education courses Be A Warrior for Your Warrior and Endometriosis 101, created to educated other providers on management of endometriosis. Britt has endometriosis herself and has navigated the all too familiar journey of many others in seeking treatment and care. Her personal journey continues to fuel her passion for patient advocacy, better education and resource availability to patients and providers, and better care options and access to patients, especially those with endometriosis. When she is not in the clinic Britt can be found pursuing further knowledge in pelvic health, spending time with her family and friends, in the garden or tending to plants, being outdoors, or completing a home project. *********** Thank you again for joining us, please share, rate, and review.
